In regard to the question you posed to No. 7, the answer is of course he does...as long as it concerns Israel or the Jews. The Arabs are nothing if not predictable.
62. Bieslki is naive
Roger ,   Minneapolis   (10.10.06)
The Iran threat is real, and guess what Bielski, Israel is more threatened than anyone. To say that Europe is more at risk from Iran than Israel is utter non-sense.
63. "Shnorer" mentality
Bob ,   Philadelphia   (10.10.06)
I am sick and tired of the fact that the "shnorer" mentality still presides in a country that boasts of having a leading hi-tech sector and claims to be ranked amongst the top tier
64. To nr 63
Alexander   (10.10.06)
Well Bob, is Israel really a "shnorer" or could it possibly be that the reality is passing your ears and eyes like raindrops on a window? How many countries in the world have to fight for their mere existence and survival on a daily basis in a hostile racist environment in the surrounding world, that dismisses categorically every step towards the recognition of the Israeli/Jewish people's natural and human right to be free men women and children controlling the destiny in their ancestral land of Israel? Israel is the ONE single country that HAS TO fight for its survival and existence -something that spoiled brats in the US and the EU take for granted. USA is Israel's best friend - true - but that's a truth with a modification. Even though 70% of the Americans of all races and cultures are DEEPLY and PROFOUNDLY pro-Israeli and pro-Jewish (the same thing goes with the Congress in D.C.) the most powerful politicians in Washington D.C. are not. In fact, they suck up to Arab oil sheiks desperately begging for the black gold (which is economically, politically and strategically very unwise for the US has de facto abundant oil reserves in Texas, California and Alaska, so both American oil companies and American politicians such as Rice and Powell could have easily stopped the dependence on Arab oil - even if that means that it costs more to extract it in the US). The result from this American schnorer -mentality is that Israel's best friend sells Israel out and puts economic and political pressure on Israel , exposing Israel to terrorism, territorial concessions and lethal danger to the Israeli/Jewish peolpe because a bunch of power crazy politicians in Washington D.C. want to make a buck on the black gold. When Israel was reestablished in 1948, USA refused to sell arms and weapons to secure Israel's survival. Dwight D Eisenhower pressured Israel to give up the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt and John F Kennedy opposed the Israeli nuclear project and he even considered to pressure Israel to give up the Negev to the Arabs to "improve" US - Arab relations. Israel resisted Kennedy's pressure. Furthermore, not a single American, Canadian, British and Australian soldier has ever fought for Israel. The Western world has both contributed to and endangered Israel's existence by both establishing strong business relations with Israel and de facto granted arms and weapons first and foremost from the US and at the same time, PRESSURED Israel to territorial concessions (which costs billions of dollars which is the main reason why Israel demands something back from the US.). Furthermore, Israel's national budget covers approximately 130 billion dollars whereas the American "aid" encompasses 3 billion - first and foremost to finance the American arms industry. The US granted Japan and Western Europe the Marshall Help, investing billions of dollars to rebuild them. America did not demand a single cent back. Israel never received anything like this and Israel is always expected to pay everything back. Even the mighty and powerful USA LOANED MONEY - YES YOU HEARED RIGHT, THE AMERICAN MONEY MACHINE RAN OUT OF MONEY -from the EU and the rest of the world to finance the evacuation from New Orleans just a year ago. I guess you have a highly selective memory Bob?
65. How to bring exile - Israelis back
Alexander   (10.10.06)
The reason why more than half a million of Israelis have chosen to leave Israel is not due to lack of patriotism but lack of capitalistic reforms, lack of low taxes and the lack of abrogation of monopoly. Ireland started out as one of the poorest countries in Europe in the early 1990:s but due to low taxes, abrogation of monopoly and a profitable climate for business and enterprise - including the legal right of possession, the Irish society boosted the economic growth and today, 16 years later, nobody questions whether Ireland is rich and developed. Many American high tech companies have established departments in Dublin and elsewhere in Ireland due to the profitable economic environment which gives an incentive to hard work, ambition, the raising of the standard of living, the creation of new job possibilities and an overall national economic growth. Israel doesn't lack brainpower, technology or science. Israel lacks the WILLPOWER to flush the socialism in the water closet. Benjamin Netanyahu has already started to fight against the old norms of the Israeli society and he did indeed succeed to limit the public sector. Lower the taxes and create opportunities in Israel for people that want to make a lot of bucks and the exile - Israelis will come back from the US.

eli harish   (10.11.06)
I agree with Beilski that the danger posed by Iran to Europe and even America is much greater than the danger it poses to Israel - without a doubt. This was good stuff!
