91. They go too far

I consider myself an orthodox jew and I totally believe in Tzniut, but this tendency in the charedi world to forbid more and more is a real danger. People who cannot cope with these high standards are seen as no good jews although they totally keep the Halacha. This will chas ve shalom lead to more people leaving the religion and help no one. Why to let people feel guilty for nothing??

Who says every women there wants to go like that? it's a society thing- "if you're not with us, you're against us." See the book "Off the derech" by Faranak Margolese to see where this has lead us already. We need to strenghten the faith in HaShem himself and not make every halacha stricter.

I have a read dress and cannot see why I sell my body in this. I cover everything that has to be covered by halacha and also my hair fully. So pleasedon't be rude- alos the commentary "because you don't have values" is totally unfair. How do you know if a secular person does not have values? I know a lot of them. What should be critizised is exactly this: To force people to follow every chumra and to tell them if they don't they aren't good jews. I tell you, now women who DON'T go to theses shops will be seen as "immodest" or not ok. THAT's the point.

and I am reminded of " you should love you neighbour as yourself". many people never learned how precious modesty is, and that's the mussar you give them? Who are you to judge? We should show these people what they miss and not judge them.
95. Kosher Haredi Dress code
Lazerbenabba ,   London   (01.04.07)
It is self evident that before long the haredi dictats regarding female dress code will conform to the wahabi Islamic stricture i.e be covered from head to toe with a mask like "Zorro". These mashuganas obviously have nothing better to do than contemplate the de sexing of women.

Funny, if everyone in their community shares this idea, then who are they hitting with the bleach - strangers? And if they are hitting strangers with bleach, then they are, by definition, trying to force their insanity on others, and if these women are of their own community, then obviously they don't agree with this ruling. You can't have it both ways. Either they are trying to control their own population with social terrorism, or they are trying to enforce their beliefs on other people by social terrorism. Either way, they are terrorists.

Ok, then let's solve the problem by putting cheredi men into asylums where they can be alone and not look at women. That way, they're safe, and so are we.
98. These men should worry more about their own clothes
(01.15.07)
The stench is so often more than a passerby can bear. Talk about "unclean"!!!!!
99. Violence?
Haifa, Israel   (01.15.07)
What is the purpose of Kosher laws? From what I understand, to preserve purity and goodness. If these Haredi-Nazis were willing to resort to violence over this issue, they are already the unpurest of all.
100. #45...You refuse?
Simon ,   New York   (01.17.07)
Talmud IS Judaism. We (Orthodox Jews) ARE Pharisees....If you are not a Pharisee you are either Sadducee (you're not), Karaite (I don't think you are), Reform (you're not...unless you don't really hold the tanakh authoritative either), or Christian..... are you criticizing the Charaidim for not being reform or for not being christian. You want to argue from within Pharisaism--that is one thing....but what it your point.

Anyone care to give a citation for where in the SA it declares the color red assur?
102. Modesty
B'ellana Balaaq ,   Afghanistan   (03.26.07)
Maybe the Israeli women should wear the burqa as a sign of protest. Taliban, Haredim, they are all the same
103. polish noblemen
La Kel ,   Canandaguia USA   (06.05.18)
I read a lot of comments from Jews who believe they are royalty, they even dress like the medieval boyars, Slavic nobility which is odd when you consider that the royalty are the most arrogant and despised ppl usually. The next most popular style seems to be the 'spy' look-all black&a g-man fedora w/ sidelocks for the eclectic. I propose clean white leather sneakers, Levi 501 Bluejeans, and a crisp white v-neck T-shirt& navy blue hoody w/ a light blue baseball cappa as the new uniform of 21st century faithful-its comfortable, modern and blue jeans are arguably more Jewish than any other clothing item being worn- there's nothing new under the sun, assimilations a myth.
