I hope that all in Israel see the true extent of what is transpiring here and clearly appreciate the depth, progression and scope of Global sociological changes and what is at stake as conflict continues. There is either a disturbing ignorance on behalf of the Catholic Bishops in relation to the actions of the Nazis or either they are complicit with those who would destroy the Jews and their state - in other words the very people responsible for the condition in the Palestinian Authority who have sworn to eradicate the Jews from their Biblical homeland. The story by Eldad Beck deliberately distorted the truth in order to place anti-Semitic suspicion on Pope Benedict XVI. Clearly you are unhappy (to say the least) with the German Bishops' remarks. However, to somehow or other try to connect those remarks to the present Pope is a case of a deliberate smear. Mr. Beck seems to think the comments of Bishop Walter Mixa of Augsburg most offensive. It is these comments that he has tried to place on Pope Benedict in the hopes of smearing him -- and for some reason his brother, Msgr. Georg Ratzinger. However, it won't work. The Diocese of Augsburg was never under Cardinal Ratzinger's spiritual leadership. That leadership belongs solely to the Bishop of Augsburg, which Cardinal Ratzinger never was. It is true that the Diocese of Augsburg is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising, of which Cardinal Ratzinger had been bishop. But that means very little in practical, day-to-day terms. The archbishop of any archdiocese does not interfere in the running of his suffragan dioceses unless it is absolutely necessary, and usually only at the order of the Pope. Besides, Cardinal Ratzinger left his post in Munich in 1981 -- 26 years ago -- to go to Rome. This very poor attempt to somehow or other raise questions about the Holy Father's respect for Jews is facile and asinine on its face. Surely most of your readers don't know these facts about the inner workings of the Church. I will show you using two examples: The Bishops claim: 1. "Israel has, of course, the right to exist, but this right cannot be realized in such a brutal manner," said Bishop Hanke" So please Mr. Hanke, please tell us how you would "exist" in an atmosphere such as this. No country in the world has had to live with such an existential threat on its borders for so long. I will tell yo uhow Germany would have dealt with it, and would still today. They would slaughter the Palestinians wholesale and rid themselves of the problem. Israel pays a penalty for trying to coexist here. 2. You claim the checkpoint sto treat people like animals. I cannot dispute that. However, suicide bombing is more inhumane and even beneath "animals". So if Palestinians have to be treated like animals sometimes due entirely to their own actions, in order to prevent Israelis from feeling like dead animals in a bombed out Pizzeria, so be it. 3. You claim the wall to be redundant. Now you are British so I will assume fluent in English. redundant as you should know since you chose to use the word means that it is "more that is neccessary". However, the wall is anything but that. IN fact, no action of the Israeli government has been more effective in reducing the number of suicide bombers reaching Israel than the wall itself. The facts on this speak for themselves. Does the wall need to follow the exact route it does? Possibly debatable. But the wall IS NOT redundant in the least. Get your facts straight.

If they had eyes to see they would realise that Israel is isolated amongst a sea of 22 Arab nations which constitute 99.5% of the Middle East and also the largest land mass of any any ethnic group on the planet. Virtually all of these Arab nations are hostile to the very existence of the Jewish state and are technically still at war with Israel and sworn to destroy her. Israel covers only 0.5% of the Middle East and has had most of the Jewish population ethnically cleansed from the surrounding Arab world. Indeed, if they opened their eyes they would see that the areas under Palestinian autonomy are also "Judenrein". Being German they would know that these means "cleansed of Jews". The thunderous silence of the Bishops, and this publication, to these fundamental issues speaks volumes. It equates with the thunderous silence of the Catholic Church to the Jewish ghettoes in Europe when Jews were being transported to gas chambers from such locations.

Forget that instead of 6 million dead in 8 years, their population has a growth rate over 25% in the last 50 years. forget that not only is noone conducting medical experiments on them, many seek treatment for disease in Jewish hospitals in Israel. Forget that they have rejected offers of peace, where Jews were offered none. Forget that they have waged war against Israel no fewer that 3 times. the Facts could not be less analogous but if you can portray it as analaogous, the facts have a way of being irrelevant. It is no wonder that the Bishops leave Yad Vashem which must have left them riddled with shame and guild and a shaken faith, and then when they see suffering, they react emotionally. They would in my estimation be easy prey for the Palestinian image makers.

Who is it that is behaving like Nazis? Have any of you ever read the Hamas charter? It lies about history. It says to kill Jews. Personally, I think fences are the most humane thing possible to keep out suicide bombers who cause death and destruction for Jews and arabs alike. Only an animal or racist would prefer suicide bombers to fences. Remember, it is the Arab terrorists that created the fences. They havent ended their terror so why should the fences come down. They protect people on both sides. The only way to have peace is for the Arabs to stop struggling against it. Israel is eternal. Our enemies are not. It would be good for the Arabs to learn this. I thought Holocaust was not about ghettos, but rather about exterminating (mass murder) several minorities, first and foremost Jews, Gypsies, then Slaves and probably others. The grievance was not the ghettos, but their purpose - rounding up Jews and sending them to EXTERMINATION camps, where they were gassed and burned. Let us not forget that the Nazis made felt boots out of our grandparents' hair, soap from their body fat and pulled out their gold teeth. When did the Jews locked up in ghettos receive zillions of dollars in aid? When did the Jews call for the annihilation of Germany, Poland, Italy, Greece, Holand, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, or any other of the countries where they had been living for centuries? Did they carry out suicide attacks against anyone? Were they shooting Qassam rockets at anybody? Were they threatening the world with jihad? Let me rephrase - were they terrorists? These bishops had too much wine at mass and are probably drunk. They should be called to order and made to retract their rantings and apologize. They should also be screened for possible cooperation with the Nazis, I am sure some of them are old enough to have been part of the Nazi murder machine. The State of Israel should lodge a formal complaint with the Vatican without delay and complain in the strongest possible manner. This is intolerable. After all the number of Palestinians is only on the increase. At the end of WWII, after 6 years, 6 million Jews had been murdered, and Europe was practically Judenrein. The purpose of the Berlin wall was to keep Eastern Europeans from escaping to the West. After WWII, tens of millions of Europeans (including Jews) were confined to a huge ghetto of Soviet dictatorship, poverty, travel restrictions, cultural isolation, etc. Where was the Catholic Church then? Did they complain about those conditions that were not even fit for animals? Did they ever walk into a Romanian orphanage or into a Russian psychiatric institution to see what was being done to "undesirables"? In reading the bishops intent to include into heir easter sermon, their condemnation of the way the Islamic murderous chose to exist and blame the Jews for killers choice tells me 2 things, One I am extremely gratified that the Nazi induced hatred against is still fermenting in a most appropriate setting namely in the Catholic Churches, second for many centuries Jews in an effort of self protection were forbidden to study during the Christian holidays due to the viperous hate filled sermons spewed out by the clergy of the church and edging on their congregants to commit any atrocities against the Jewish people, it was known as a “Progrom” and sanctioned by the Christian governing leadership. This should hopefully wake up the deluded Israeli leadership not to extend any helpful assistance or even any encouragement for proven Jewish haters, if they wish to come and visit their so called “Holy Places” let them come but not at the invitation of any governmental official but as any private individual, they never were and never will be a true friend to any Jewish community
