32. Fear of deportation and how to stop it
Steve ,   USA   (05.03.07)
B"H The best thing the Israeli Arabs can do to prevent deportation of Hamas Arabs is to prevent war. I do not think Israel would deport every Israeli Arab. The main interest is sorting out those who observe Noachite law from those who do not, which includes the basics of realizing that G-d rules Israel and going to not murdering and so forth as a demonstration of it. I am not seeing a lot of reports of crime from the Israeli Arabs generally so I am not sure of the benefit of their immediate expulsion. The Hamas Arabs, on the other hand, are launching rockets at Sderot. If they stop by being expelled to the foreign country that attacks Israel (only if there is war), I think no one is expected to shed a tear except the Jewish residents of Judea and Sumaria who would face expulsion by the Kadima Israeli government to form some "settlement" of the war outcome. The Israeli Arabs may even benefit if they are loyal. But the best way to end the nervousness of the Israeli Jews is for the Israeli Arabs to legally arange to protest against the treason of the top representative. If the Jews see large demonstrations of support for the state from the Israeli Arabs, it should calm down the fears on both sides and reafirm the loyalty after an embarrasing incident.
33. The priority is a mass deportation of Kadima

34. #28 see, semantics again
Takan ,   Eilat   (05.03.07)
" Deport them to palestine! " Says Dann. They are in Palestine already. Palestine became Israel in 1948 and all Palestinians that chose to stay (Jews, Muslims and Christians) became Israelis. Palestine is Judea, and Israel. It's all the same with a different name. Paris had a different name 2000 years ago (Lutèce), Iran was Persia, Istanbul was Constantinople and Crotia, Serbia and others were called Yugoslavia. Names change, and I personally prefer to call it Israel as it is recognized in the modern civilized world.

36. Enforced loyalty oath
Tracy W   (05.03.07)
It's not realistic to force loyalty to the state under a threat of deportation or loss of rights. A country can expect but not force a minority to be loyal to the state or to serve in the armed forces when they obviously have other loyalties. The only solution is separation. It's tragic but it may take a war to reach the point of no return, where Israel will have to face the fact that it can be either a haven for Jews or just another Arab country with a Jewish minority. Anyway, Jews as a minority in Israel is a situation just waiting to happen due to the natural population growth of the Arabs. It would be wiser to deal with this now, before Jews have to fight a war with invaders and with their next door neighbors at the same time.
37. More than 36,000 Afghans have been deported from Iran
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (05.03.07)
More than 36,000 Afghans have been deported from Iran in the past 10 days. Where is the public outcry that Israel is so afraid of happening if they were to do such a thing? Are Afghans working to topple the Iranian governent to replace it with a Afghan government? Are the Afghans conspiring with Iran's enemies to kill innocent Iranians? Are they Afghanis at war with the Iranians? And yet, the world is quiet. Israel needs to smart up and do the right thing and relocate the Arabs to their homes in any one of the 22 Muslim states.
38. I don't get the whole rationale behind collective punishment
I know, I don't live ,   there, but still...   (05.03.07)
Didn't Arab Israelis also die in Nasrallah's rocket attacks last summer? Deport them all--are you really serious? This one traitor should not make an entire democracy turn to fascism out of fear and suspicion.
39. NEVER AGAIN
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (05.03.07)
40. Fear its due when allegiance to Israel is in doubt
Jorge ,   Tegucigalpa   (05.03.07)
Until Arab citizens of Israel openly state their allegiance to Israel as a Jewish Homeland, and not as now that that allegiance is openly vested in the enemies of Israel, they should fear the natural reaction of the Jewish majority. When and if, they stop acting as the enemy, Jews wont feel threatened, and their status will be not in question, but if as example, they keep electing representatives like Bishara, who are open enemies of Israel, then do not expect friendship from the Jewish majority. The attitude of Arabs in Israel gives the Jews the right to mistrust them. In other countries, given the attitude of Arabs in Israel, the majority long ago would have acted harshly againt them.
41. WITCH HUNT: BISHARA'S FAULT
NooodNik   (05.03.07)
Yes, if any others can be determined as not aligned with Israel -OUT!!!
42. This is all BS
MK ,   USA   (05.03.07)
Even if the allegations proved to be true, the Israeli Arabs should never be treated different from the rest of the citizens. Treason should be judged on the individual level, not the collective level. I remember here in the USA, at my university, there was an Israeli Arab exchange student, and he would get furious when the Arab students called him Palestinian. He only wanted to be called "Israeli". Stop being mindless bigots. Stop being bigots in order to show off that you are so smart, because the more bigot you are, the stupider you get.
43. #42 Did you ever ask him why?
Carl ,   Indiana USA   (05.03.07)
Maybe it was because Arabs are distrusted in the US. As an Israeli he put himself under a more legitimate designation.
44. Your fears are unnecessary!
Arthur ,   Haifa   (05.03.07)
Are you trying to create sympathy for yourselves amongst the international communities? Or just don't want to miss any opportunity to abuse Israel? Stop this nonsense; your people are as free as Jewish people in this country, free to educate, you have freedom of speech and are free to carry out such nonsense rallies; just like Jews here? You are more free than your brothers in Muslim countries! What else you expect? Remember you are safer here than any other place on this earth. Unless you are guilty of betraying the nation; no one will ask you to leave or punish. If Azmi Bishara is not guilty; why is he running away? Your leaders are misguiding you; you might be the victims of their vim. They might be receiving some kind of personal favour from your world associates!
45. If only our GOVERNMENT HAD such guts! They are only brave...
j ,   jerusalem, israel   (05.03.07)
....enough to deport Jews. Don't worry Arabs - enemy's of the State are okay in Israel. Its the Jews that have to worry.
46. We Need A Divorce.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.03.07)
Irreconcilable differences. We can't tolerate a hostile enemy population in our midst. We have enough security threats from without - we don't need a security threat from within.
47. This is the usual trick to defuse criticism of Israeli Arabs
sk ,   USA   (05.03.07)
My God, how many times have they tried this trick? "YOU WANT TO DEPORT US!!" I guess the point is to have Israeli Jews recoil. "Oh no! We would NEVER do that." Poor victims! WELL, on Ynet it seems that people aren't buying it anymore. When a group of citizens become traitors, yes, they should be dealt with. If there were A SINGLE WESTERN COUNTRY where Muslim Arabs had settled and had not rioted and attempted to bring down the country, and introduce sharia, maybe we'd be more sympathetic. It is a mathematical truth: the more Muslims a Western society has, the more internal terror and disruption it experiences. ONLY the excellence of the Shin Bet keeps the 15% of Israel's Muslim Arabs in check.
48. Reuven Brauner for Prime Minister!

Brauner is right on target!
49. Solution is Annexation of Galilee to to Palestine
Hani ,   Greater Palestine   (05.03.07)
Byebye paranoia.
50. It's Time to Declare Arab Republic of Israel
Ahmad ,   Palestine   (05.03.07)
The state shall encompass all of historical Palestine and shall have Arabic and Hebrew as its official language, with English being used in business. Palestinians and Jews from around the world can come back and live side by side under one sun, one law, and one future.
51. Nothing to Fear
rh ,   Modiin Israel   (05.03.07)
surely going to live among their Arab brother in any one of the 22 Arab countries would be like moving to paradise. Those countries got rid of their bothersome Jews long ago. The Arabs who left in 48 and 67 of their own accord have been received with open arms by their brothers in Lebanon , Jordan and Syria. The got their Aliya rights and have been well integrated into these societies. They would be so pleased to escape this Apartheid state that does not allow them freedom to practice their religion and makes bread with the blood of their babies, that does not allow them to vote and restricts their freedom of movement., this state which has a two tiered justice system.
52. The Possibility of Expulsion is NOT as Far-Fetched As People
M. Martin ,   NYC/Tel-Aviv   (05.03.07)
When I lived in Israel, during my last couple of years there I heard Israelis - young, educated, normally leftist Israeli Jews living in North Tel-Aviv point blank tell me that the Arabs - "Israeli Arabs" AND "Palestinian Arabs" - need to be expelled. One woman said that we need to put them on busses and simply deport them all to Jordan. I am not so sure of my knowledge of Israeli politrical history before Oslo, but is that not what Meir Kahane used to say? Personally, I think expelling the Arabs is unfeasible in this day and age. The time for expulsion was before Oslo. In any event I was shocked (but not entirely surprised). If they were politcians this kind of speech would be illegal. But these were ordinary rank and file Israelis that one expects to be liberal and were liberal in just about every other way. Not to mention that many Israelis have considered them a 5th column for years. Moreover, I believe it was Benny Morris who said that Arabs might be expelled should there be another big war in an interview he did in Ha'aretz maybe 2 or 3 years ago. Ther Arabs are afraid and for good reason.
53. Arab- Israelis fearful? Don't think so.
AK   (05.03.07)
Right next to this article is a photo with this caption 'Arab-Israeli rally in support of Bishara Photo: AFP' They don't sound fearful to me, they are openly supporting the traitor.
54. #34, Palestine is also Jordan, 3/5 of Palestine is Jordan.

55. Because They Would Do It To Us.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.03.07)
But, of course, they already did. They expelled approx. 750,000 Jews from Arab countries (where was the "international community"?). They expelled all the Jews from areas they controled in 1948 including Jerusalem. Over the years, they have ethnically cleansed the whole Middle-East of native Christian populations. Similarly, they persecuted the Samaritans into near-extinction. Today, they are allowing a genocide of black Africans in Darfur. The idea of expelling the Jews from Israel is the main ideological point of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah, & many mainstream Islamic scholars & Imams, this being preached in mosques all over the world. Reciprocity is an excellent concept.
56. #30 arabian peninsula is for all of you Jew usurpers
Ben Temalion ,   Shiloh, MO USA   (05.03.07)
Enforce their right of return to the peninsular homicidal HAMITE homeland of their own name. You hate the Jews so go away or you will have your desire for the Jews exacted against you instead.
57. Arabs Don't Fear Deportations
M. Duvduvani ,   Yokneam   (05.03.07)
The hostile Arab minority in Israel doesn't fear deportations. It is a lie they tell to gain leverage against the Jews in order to continue their hostile actions. If they did fear deportations, then Asmi Bishara would not have behaved as he did. People who "fear" act accordingly and are very careful not to do anything to rock the boat. People who do not fear, conversely, behave in a smug and care free manner....because they are not affraid. Asmi Bishara behaved smugly as he did because he believed the Israelis (Jews) would lay no consequences upon him. This means, he was not affraid. It is imperative that the Arab minority in Israel understand that if they will continue to behave in a hostile manner towards the country and the Jewish majority, that deportation may eventually become a consideration.
58. Let's hope that for once, Jews will do the right thing
Antonio ,   Haifa   (05.03.07)
and throw them out already. There is no better recipe for peace, a true, realistic, and lasting peace.
59. # 42, MK
(05.03.07)
Mindless bigots? You can't be serious. Do you really know anything about the situation with some of these Arab MKs and the acts of sedition they've committed? I suspect you don't. And as far as Israeli Arabs not being treated like other citizens, you're absolutely right. They get away with far more crap than anybody else would. In fact, most other self-respecting countries would have handed Azmi Bishara his walking papers long ago for his acts that the law defines as "consorting with the enemy" and for which the penalties can be very severe. In fact, the Israelis have tolerated this treasonous behavior long past the time that almost any other civilized country would have, and I'm not even talking about Arab and Muslim countries where they would have shoved a hood over his head and lined him up in front of a firing squad. And although you knew an Arab-Israeli exchange student, who I believe was probably absolutely sincere, please don't make the mistake of thinking he represents the majority these days and, above all, please try not to fall prey to the propaganda that passes as scholarship in many universities since they're notorious for presenting a totally unbalanced view of the Middle East conflict thanks to the huge infusions of Saudi cash funding many Middle Eastern Studies Departments, and the anti-Western ideology among a lot of professors who are mired in a far-left 1960's time warp. And, trust me, I know that mindset very well because I used to be one of them.
