Sorry, hit the wrong key . . . If Palestine existed, answer any of the following: Prior to 1967, what was the basis of their economy? What museum has the greatest collection of your antiquities? Prior to 1967, what was the system of government? Prior to 1967, name a ruler from any historic time period? Prior to 1967, what was the capital? There's more, but the point has been made.

64. #62. Palestine was not a colony. It was a Mandate Territory
Jake   (10.21.08)
Palestine was not a country, nor a colony, nor a protectorate, but a mandated territory created by the League of Nations for the specific purpose of re-establishing the Jewish National Home in that territory. Territories under mandate were under the direct control of the mandate power, in this case Britain, for the express purpose of carrying out the mandated task assigned by the League of Nations. In fact, during the Mandate period, it was the Arabs who insisted that "Palestine" does not exist, and that it was an imperial fabrication of the Zionists and the British to squash Arab independence.
