TH ,   LA, USA   (08.07.09)
shame to those Jewish parents. i'm all for Israel to get tougher on the bloody terrorists - kill them not jail them. but such a move against an innocent child it's a big stain on Jewish state. they had to receive the Arab kid with the same attention/ love as for the rest of them and, why not, even to welcome the Arab parents who put their trust in the Jewish day-care system
62. To: No. 50
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (08.07.09)
For the record, I live in Israel six months out of the year. That said --- I live in Manhattan. Am I a racist for sending my children to private school because I don't want them being educated in the New York City public school system where they have to pass through metal detectors, risk being beaten up and sit next to children who come from dysfunctional homes or who are illegal aliens who have never been immunized? Moreover -- the Jewish state has endured six wars, sixty-one years of unrelenting terror, suicide bombings and, most recently, eight years of daily missile barrages -- all at the hands of Arabs. You will forgive the Jewish people of Israel if they do not feel kindly disposed towards Arabs.
63. Racism + People =
Ron ,   L.A., USA   (08.07.09)
THE WORLD!!! 1.) Racism is wrong. No one is better than any other person. But people are often better off than. This can be seen world wide. You can say this about the following countries. France (with the invading Arab pop., Germany with it's Turks, and we have seen this with Norway/Sweden, The U.K. with Scotland, Wales and Ireland. There are many many more examples of this). 2.) Everyone deserves their own land, place they can call their own. But sharing the same space often creates disastrous results. The Arabs have the whole middle east. 360 million arabs v. 7.4 million jews? Not to mention when Israel declared it's independence just how many jews were expelled from arab countries. I think people need to stop blaming the Jews for all of the conflict in the world and look in the mirror. You people with your Eiffel Towers. You people that slaughtered the native americans, that murdered the Druids and your imperialist conquests. Stop blaming the Jews for all of your problems! Was the mother who pressured the day care in the wrong in all of this? I tend to think so, mainly because of the scripture of being nice to your neighbors. Was she wrong from a larger perspective, maybe not. But that isn't the issue in this case. The issue was blatant bigotry. As far as we know, the little kid hadn't done anything to warrant it from getting kicked out. Leave the larger politics out of this and deal with the issue at hand.
64. ISRAELIS ARE KILLED WHEN THEY ENTER AN ARAB VILLAGE!!!
Tim ,   New York   (08.07.09)
ISRAELIS RISK THEIR LIVES IF THEY HAPPEN BY MISTAKE TO MAKE A TURN IN AN ARAB VILLAGE THAT IS IN ISRAEL!!! And you would want Israelis to accept mixing their children with Arabs?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
65. Let the courts do their thing - but if it's racism
JPS ,   Efrat   (08.07.09)
then i have no sympathy for the instigators. There are laws in this country to protect minorities and if the claims are true, then the Arab family is indeed deserving of compensation, and the instigators deserve to pay. However, not knowing the true facts means we leave it to Ynet to report in the future how the court rules. I do not tolerate racism and discrimination against my fellow citizens if they are Arabs. And yes, I'm a "settler". My fellow citizen talkbackers above can take a hike to some mythical country where there are only Jews like themselves. Israel has a diverse population, and all non-Jewish citizens have rights too.
66. Some racist parents, excellent excuse to clobber Israel.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.07.09)
The Israel-hating maggots couldn't have dreamed of a better article for them to spew their venom against the entire state of Israel. A few bad apples do not represent an entire country. Just as easily we could have found antisemites in Canada, Norway and Germany saying the same about Jews. (ynet editors - last comment was sent incomplete by accident, ignore it please.)
67. 29: To Sarah B
Yaron ,   Stuttgart   (08.07.09)
The issue here are not the Nazi's in Germany, and my choice to live here or not. Believe me I know very very well Israel, passed a lot of time there, and have actually family(jewish, just to be clear) living in the Afula region where it happened. In the region their, Israeli Arabs trying buying homes, to go school in mayority jewish towns causes a lot of trouble. Because in front of the law all Israeli citizens are equal, but when it comes to it, they are people more equal than others. In this region, there is a lot of racism, more leftist and progressist people live in the tel aviv area, but hardly have any contact with Israeli Arabs, Sometimes they see them on TV. How many % of Muslims in Germany live in the same building as their pure blood german neighbours? How %of the Arabs live in the same building/street/village as jewish israelis? Have you ever been to Afula? Migdal haemek, Nazareth Ilit? I don t think so...
68. To 26 Jason:
Yaron ,   Stuttgart   (08.07.09)
You are right I don't have all the facts. I am not against Israel. I love Israel, and planning to do my aliyah by the end of the year. Neverttheless we cannot deny that Israeli Arabs are second class citizens and any Israeli knows that. We can say, it is because they are ennemies, they don't recognize the state,...And when I get there, I hope I will spent a part of my time making this place a juster place to live in. They are things happening in Israel that you never consider possible in the US
69. Anna , 36 . This rivka is'nt Jewish at all
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.07.09)
70. to #24 Yes there should be segregation in Israel!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.07.09)
We do not need to integrate with the fifth column! We Jews have learned the hard way. We did not integrate into german society about 70 years ago. The blacks in the U.S. were not cheering and identifying with the enemy. They did not target fellow Americans for terrorists! You are a world class idiot!
71. Wow, just wow.
Jordan ,   Brampton,Canada   (08.07.09)
Seriously? So much fuss over ONE arab child? It doesn't make sense to hold such discriminatory policies. I support Israel and all but it makes me angry to hear these things going on in a secular country. And for those justifying discrimination against the child, for shame man.
72. #70 Jason White
Thornhill   (08.07.09)
You, Jason White from Afula, are the Fifth Column in Israeli society that will see your racist filled ideology ultimately destroy the State of Israel. Arabs will never be able to destroy the Jewish State, it will only come at the hands of those like yourself. Shame on these parents and shame on you, both of you are a disgrace to our faith.
73. To: No. 67
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (08.07.09)
Yes, I know Afula quite well. When I first made aliyah, I did an Ulpan in Kibbutz Givat Oz, about 2 kilometers east of Tsomet Megiddo.
74. #64
Vanessa ,   Tel Aviv   (08.07.09)
My best friend is an Arab and I'm Israeli. Haven't "been killed" yet when entering an Arab village! You have no idea what you are talking about-none....
75. Shocking racism
Iris ,   Haifa   (08.07.09)
And Vanessa, isn't your best friend, Israeli just like you are? I know you meant well, but as you expressed it, it was as if you were denying your friend his/her citizenship. Which is exactly what the racists want.
76. To 64 Tim: This is one BIG, FAT lie
CaptAhab   (08.07.09)
I've been there and saw Jews in Arab towns in the north. They come to shop on the weekends and play soccer. I find it amazing how some racists like you make us lies from the convenience of their homes in NY to inflame the situation even further between Arab and Jews.
77. gan iledim

IF IT IS TRUE IT IS DISGUSTING!.My grandchildren will not serve in the isreali army if this is the way we behave. fortunately they have alternatives,

Cameron ,   USA   (08.08.09)
Has the smell of a contrived stunt about it.
81. #4-5
Malone ,   Hfx   (08.08.09)
Do you arab propagandists know what "apartheid" means? Look it up.. Does not apply to Israel.. Just another trendy slogan type word..
82. #10 - If Israel is to be democratic, doesn't it mean everyon
William ,   Israel   (08.08.09)
If Israel is to be democratic, it requires equality to and from ALL citizens. You seem to point only towards the Jews in this claim as being "undemocratic" but Israeli Arabs are most definitely racist against non-Arabs. Hell, they even attacked Christians and Druze on a number of occasions. Though it doesn't relate directly to this story - why do people like you insist that Jews just "behave" but Arabs running amuck is " a celebration of culture"? You're an anti-semetic douche.
83. #77 - Sas - Which alternatives do your grandchild have?
William ,   Israel   (08.08.09)
"My grandchildren will not serve in the isreali army if this is the way we behave. fortunately they have alternatives," What are your grandkids other alternatives? Running away from the country for 10 years so as not to serve in the army, or suddenly becoming a "conscientious objector", joining some Leftist party, and avoiding the army by spending their time uncovering "racists and occupation"? Please - either way, it's more of a rite of passage for future Leftist spineless community, by undermining the State and its citizens while claiming to be "ideologically superior". If you cared about the State, you'd wish them to make a difference, not run away. You can keep your grandkids. Your family are parasites anyway.
84. This smells like a set up to me
Marcella   (08.08.09)
Arabs don't go shopping for day care spaces at sites that are 100 percent Jewish. Someone influenced the Arab woman to apply and send her kid there, knowing there would be some concern among parents, which has been misrepresented as racism.
85. Jews Aren't allowed in Arab Villages or Countires
Jethro ,   Marquette, MI   (08.08.09)
Need I say more? Could a jewish person make a lawsuit against an arab country that doesn't let them live there? InSaudi Arabia it is illegal not to be muslim. It is a two way street here people.
86. End US Aid to Israel, Egypt etc.
Sam ,   Seattle, USA   (08.09.09)
Boring debate that has nothing to do with the United States. It's your problem. Not one more US dime for Israel or Egypt. The billions spent yearly add nothing to US security except the hatred of millions of Muslim people.
87. 39 Irmo: Yes, by all means, separate republicans and democra
Rivkah   (08.09.09)
ts, too. The best way to maintain a separation from sinners and those with unacceptable beliefs is to home school. Yes, home school children. Ayn Rand wrote a novel of the shadow government's plan to round up children and euthanize the elderly in the event of a great disaster. Children will be frozen in schools and then transported to underground camps to survive the nuclear holocaust or whatever causes a high terror alert. What will be done with the children? Hmmm. The survivor adults will get hungry and eat them. So you see, it is best to have separate but equal schooling and daycare, preferably at home.
88. Hatred and Paranoia
Kyle S. ,   Minneapolis, USA   (08.13.09)
Israel and the people running it have a long way to go if they think they're winning over any americans with their behavior. Let's face it, Israel would not exist without our tax dollars. Their military would be nothing. The level of hatred and paranoia displayed and their equal if not greater guilt in the failure of the Oslo accords shows a lack of basic human rights behavior that we generally castigate other nations for. Israel, sympathy is fading.
89. Inadvertent Recommendation
Kyle S. ,   Minneapolis, USA   (08.13.09)
I inadvertently recommended one of Sarah B. of New York's posts. I didn't mean to. Far from it. Sarah, you sound paranoid and reactionary in your posts. Tone it down a bit and try remain civil if you can. You'll actually be able to make a reasonable point perhaps.
90. Daycare
ErnestPayne ,   Hamilton, Canada   (08.13.09)
The Israeli's, like the returning French emigrees in 1814, have learned nothing and forgotten nothing. As the Economist said, in 1967, the Israeli's have won the war, it remains to be seen if they can win the peace.
