31. Before use their mouth American and British
Dani ,   Amsterdam NL   (08.27.09)
They have to read their history and what they did in Africa, America ,Ireland and Scotland. After that I don't think they have many other argument to discuss.
32. Brad, Comment #2
Zen ,   London   (08.27.09)
You say: "It was BRITISH land, before it was OTOMAN, and they relinquish it to Jordan." You actually missed the fact that the only reason Britain was given control over Trans-Jordan (after the fall of the Ottoman Empire), by The League of Nations, was to give the ENTIRE territory to the Jews to re-establish Israel. The British did an illegal deal with the Arabs to give them 70% of Trans-Jordan to build the palestinian state of Jordan. If it was not enough to have already obtained 70% of Trans-Jordan, on top of 99% of the Middle East the Arabs already controlled; they are now asking for as much of Israel as they can get. The Arabs are also stating openly that whatever the Jews are left with, will be taken from them by force of arms. Either you are stupid, or your lack of historical knowledge is obscuring your view of reality, or you are mendacious and a simple Judeophobe. Any way you look at it your analysis is useless without recognising that palestinians already have a state, it is called Jordan.
33. peace
mohson   (08.27.09)
Some israelis, tired of war and haggling decided .. okay, enough, in one fell swoop, give back all of the territories, give them almost everything they want and good economy and peace will prevail. Well, rockets and hate prevailed. From Beilin and peres, to barak and ben ami to livni and olmert and ramon, all said, lets do it, give back everything and peace will come guranteed by the US.The results are evident.Terror increased, rockets rained and arabs hate and mock jews to the point where olmert begged them and admitted we are finished unless a PLO state is borne. and so on and so forth. So it was understandable beforehand that some israelis were desperate for peace. But afterwords, desperation has to be analysed against the terror and hate. Livni acted like a dumbbell saying peace will happen. Olmert said anything to avoid his jail and to please his wife and her politics. The others cannot stop the oslo train that even rabin was extremely reluctant about. Arabs don't recognize israel, not as a jewish state and not anything. They play ball only because israel is strong. But they feel they can wait a long time to see israel collapse from itself. Well, Peres, beilin, olmert and livni have almost destroyed israel's will. Oslo has to step aside. A new paradigm has to be considered. One is to relocate all the arabs to Jordan funded internationally.
34. And you, Zed #32, have something problematical in your book?
Brad ,   USA   (08.27.09)
1) Otoman DID NOT forfeit their territories to League of Nations. They took it from Otoman, as conquerors... Btw, Ottomans agreed both because they were weak and because they had inner turmoil (young turks). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sykes%E2%80%93Picot_Agreement Here you will see why your favorite Zhabotinsky was pissed as hell. Truth be told - they backstabbed you, but you could not do simply nothing about it. Think it like this: would you go and kill a boss who promises you that you will be CEO, but puts you only on a chief of department place in the end? 2) Palestinian state isn't Jordan - THERE NEVER WAS a Palestinian state. These are Arabs. Palestinians are British and French invention to counter the arab nationalism: make many small nations to prevent them to make big one, superforce. So, no, they cannot go to Jordan. Sorry, if you want my opinion - you should have killed Asad before he published that famous letter stating that "Palestinians are separate entity". 3) Btw, I got B.A in history of the world. My thesis was Israel. Creation, why how and grounds. (Yap, I think that you have right to exist, but only in pre1967 borders). ALL you wrote is an official version of revisionism Zionism. And that's dead, no?
35. Can we hold slaves, Dani 31, as yours did?

38. Any one can buy in Israel
Ben ,   London, UK   (08.27.09)
Israel is a democracy like any European ones or North American ones. I know this is too much to bear for some haters around. Any Israeli can own a house or land in Israel whether he is jewish muslim or else. Bedouins own tons of acres in the Neguev and are free to build whatever the want on it. Many muslims or Druzes do the same in the Galilea. Israelis are protected by the israeli constitution just like any western democracy. Any foreigner from a country which has good relation with Israel can buy and own property in Israel just like any western democracy. Now Palestinians and most east jerusalem muslims residents are not Israelis. They are residents of the West Bank or have special residents status in East Jerusalem or Israel (I know tough to bear for haters). Now Jews have no rights whatsoever to buy or develop in the West bank any more (according to the international community) and the ones already living there are threatened to be ejected like what happened in Gaza. Basically an ethnic purification is ok as long as we are talking about jews, because no matter what happened jews wil not riot around the world burning mosques and churches and killing people. Now on the other hand going against the muslim genocidal ideas is a huge risk. And for all ignorants with a massive opinion on the subjects, jews have always been living on this land. before Israel was created Palestinians were refered as jews living in british ruled palestine. Jerusalem is everything in the jewish religion like mecca is for the muslim. No non muslim can go to mecca. This does not seem to shock any one!!!! I don't think I can open a synagogue in the Genocidal country of Vatican. Jews on the other hand NEVER prevented any religious group from practising its faith in Jerusalem. Jerusalem was built by the Jews and was the capital of the Jewish Kingdom while there has never been a Palestinians country before. de facto Jerusalem was never the capital of Palestine and was never the capital of any muslim regime. palestinians were never refered to muslims until the sixties when the palestinian people were finally invented. To go back to our situation jews are restrained from living in the West bank or in East jeruslam and should be uprooted while muslims can leave wherever the want and do whatever they want according to the good hearted international community. I'm sorry but this is a massive piss take!!! If jews can't build, then muslims should not build either and if jews have to be uprooted then muslims should as well.
39. Brad two simple questions
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.27.09)
Since non-Jews according to you are not allowed to buy land or houses in Israel how come 40% of privately owned land is held by Arabs, who make up < 20% of the population? That is a fact. Second please provide ONE shred of proof of 'Palestinian' lands. I can find 3 international treaties including the UN Charter that state ALL LAND west of the Jordan is for a Jewish state. The question is can you provide one that states it belongs to these 'Palestinians'? Bet you won't answer either question.
40. Just as I thought...
Brad ,   USA   (08.27.09)
Don't bother to answer on my repeated question ("Can a non jew"...) I was right: you have to have some connection, otherwise, as a total stranger, no, you cannot even own a summer cottage on Tel Aviv beach. Many Israelis have houses in America. But only a selected few Americans, who can prove their blood or some connection, can have houses in Israel. Beautiful example: Q: I recently found out that on my maternal Grandmother's side, there are Jewish roots in the family. However, my grandmother was catholic and I believe Yeshua is the Messiah. I understand that this alone will prevent me from making aliya. Is this true? And, would I be able to make aliya based on her birth certificate or would I have to convert to Judaism? A: You are not included in the Law of Return because it doesn't go that far back. Conversion to Judaism seems to be the best solution. EOD, now you can continue screaming "AAAAA, an antisemite!!!!"
41. Straight answer for Brad #7
Yankev ,   Columbus OH USA   (08.27.09)
Brad, you asked "can a Chinese, European or Southern American, who does not have any Jewish blood whatsoever, buy a house or flat in Israel in similar fashion Israeli can buy flat or house somewhere outside Earth? " Yes. Plain and simple. Now answer me -- what is your first langauge? You say you live in the USA, but you appear as unfamiliar with English as you are with Israeli law and life.
42. @1 Brad
moi ,   TA   (08.27.09)
There are many other countries where you van only buy a home if you have a residential permit or are a citizen....btw i was now 6 weeks in de US and I couldn't buy an Iphone because I'm not an US citizen....

hani ,   eretz yisroel   (08.27.09)
You can have your BA, your opinion, and YNET -- and we will have our G-d, our land, our heritage and our inheritance. Now let us part in peace and may each enjoy his lot.
44. brad
granny moses ,   land of Israel   (08.27.09)
May I suggest that you go to your local Lubavitch representative and try to get answers. Surely one who is college-educated understands that there are more appropriate forums for discovering the truth than Ynet.
45. #41
Brad ,   USA   (08.27.09)
English. I live in Brooklyn, New York. And yes, maybe my attitude towards Jews is partly explained with my previous experience with Brooklyn Jews... But, mistakes happen, 'cause I write much and try to explain my viewpoint, so I make grammatical mistakes. Believe it or not, that's up to you.
46. Gee, sorry, censor didn't allow my full post
Brad ,   USA   (08.27.09)
There was in details UN RESOLUTION 181 together with Maps. I acknowledge that there were no Palestinians in that time, but sorry, you should have killed 3 of its creators - Assad, Arafat and Husein. With their recognition of their existence, they came to being. Numbers that you wrote include West Bank... Which is, to say at least, unfair, since this is not Israel. If we look at pre 1967 borders, True Israel, you will have much lesser numbers: 92% are Jewish, 8 are Non Jewish of whome about 5% Druze. Now, please, can we see these resolutions and charter that you speak of?
47. What exactly is your point Brad?
Yaron ,   USA   (08.27.09)
Your question was answered already. Stop demonstrating your overt ignorance and find a church nearby to pray in, because you my friend are only getting older....unfortunately not smarter!
48. #34 you had to write a thesis for a BA?
JS ,   USA   (08.27.09)
49. #34 History of the world is a class, not a discipline.
JS ,   USA   (08.27.09)
50. Brad now for a real history lesson
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.27.09)
San Remo Treaty 1920 - look it up Covenant of the League of Nations - Article 22 (British Mandate Article 25) look it up. UN Charter Article 80 - you can look that one up too. All state the same thing that the eastern border will be ultimately deteremined EAST of the Jordan River. Those are REAL international treaties. And those numbers I supplied were to Israel, and does not include any land outside of it.
51. #28 You asked this question before.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (08.27.09)
On a different article, referencing a different ethnicity, and I'll answer exactly what I did last time - yes, he can, and no one will force him to convert to anything. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but we don't have forced conversions in Israel. Your Chinese person can come to Israel, extending his visa as needed until he is eligible for permanent resident status, and rent or buy an apartment or house wherever he desires. What he won't get is an automatic citizenship based on being part of the Jewish national group, being a resident within Israel's borders before and during the state's formation, or being born in the country to people to whom the previous categories apply. Now will you kindly stop your inane bigotry and start talking like an sensible adult?
52. #40 What's so beautiful about your example?
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (08.27.09)
A Christian with vague Jewish "roots" that only start at his great-grandparents and do not go further asked if he, a Christian with no actual connection to Israel or the Jewish people, was eligible to receive automatic citizenship in Israel, or was his only option to receive *automatic citizenship* to actually go and become part of the Jewish people via the traditional religion of the said people, whose conversion processes ends with official acceptance into both faith and 'clan'? The answer, unsurprisingly, was that yes, without actual prior Jewish roots, the only option available to become eligible for instant Israeli citizenship (you know... the national home of the Jewish people?) was to actually go and become a part of said group!
53. Twisted logic
David ,   Boston   (08.27.09)
Ben Yishai's logic read like this: "if a home invader has to get out of your home, you should as well."
54. #34, what internet site did you buy your "BA" from?
Danny   (08.28.09)
Sykes-Picot was never implemented. A brief look at any map from 1916 onwards can show that. Young Turks were around BEFORE WW1 and so obviously before Ottoman empire was dismembered. So many errors....
55. #28, stop writing crap and you'll stop being insulted
Danny   (08.28.09)
Actually a (non-PRC) Jew cannot simply move to China, buy a flat and live there -and presumably work. Pretty much all countries don't allow this.
56. #1, where did you get this from?
Danny   (08.28.09)
Anyone can buy a house in Israel, doesn't have to be Jewish. If he then wants to live in it and presumably work in Israel then he needs either a work permit or to be Israeli - just like an Israeli would need to have a visa or green card to live and work in the US
57. #2, I see you learnt your english the same place you learnt
Danny   (08.28.09)
your history... How can there possible be "legal evidences" of the West Bank being Palestinian land when there never was a Palestine? There was a mandate - it wasn't british, it was being "looked after" by the british explicitly for the Jews. In 1948 it was conquered by the Jordanians and in 1967 conquered by Israel. It has never been Palestinian land ever and it is cannot be Israel's by conquest how can it be Jordan's?
58. to dany
duha ,   beer zeet   (08.28.09)
here it is people before land before history before geography . you do not know about the people here so your knowledge is nothing to these people from this land put it in books or on net or tell it in a loud voice or in wisper it is nothing to me or to the people who are living in palastinian villiges or are living a braod knowing only that they are from here
59.  Brad # 7
hamid ,   US   (08.28.09)
It is apparent all you know is in your head- i.e.- imagined. Arabs from the Gulf states region recently bought land in Galilee. You need also learn how to write, spell, compose a sentence in English, in addition to learning history and "international law". A rational thinking process also would benefit you no small part.
60. I yesterday answered Roman an Gee...
Brad ,   USA   (08.28.09)
But censor didn't let this through. It was not slander - it were arguments. It seems that censors here pass slander, but will not send arguments... So, once again for Gee... 1) San Remo did not have precise boundaries. :) Also, you have there AGAIN vague phrase: "...HOME of Jewish people". Not state. There is a big difference... 2) Covenant, articles... In both you have problems with borders: "...hich formerly belonged to the Turkish Empire, within such boundaries as may be fixed by them..." I used JEWISH VIRTUAL LIBRARY. Hope this is O.K. source for you? http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/Palestine_Mandate.html 3) Article 80 is made to make smooth transition between League of Nations and UN in matter of Middle East conflict, what about? If I understood you correctly, you DID NOT present 3 separate international treaties (+ Charter) that recognize Israel's right on WB, but you made SINGLE argument that Israel has right on WB folowing the line San Remo - > Article 22/25 -> Article 80. Your name is Boris Shusteff, maybe? :) Your logic is valid, no dispute in this. Problem - NO DEFINITE BORDERS. Not a single line where it is stated similar: "Israel has full rights over Gaza, West Bank etc." Come on, Gee! Israeli government is not dumb! You can say many things for them, but even I would never use word "dumb!" If it were that easy - whole world would recognize WB as part of Israel! Also, there would not be "disputed" territories, guys! :) You also have 2 major problems: 1) Partition plan of 1947 and various resolutions that state that West Bank is not considered integral part of Israel.
