91. Jack #83 "Humanity":
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.19.10)
Your use of the psychiatric terms, "bi-polar" and "psychotic" are really incorrect as these labels do not relate to nations, groups, organizations nor cultures and, furthermore, they are often hard enough to use in diagnosis when it comes to individuals. As a result of your over-the-top, inflammatory and inaccurate comments, your whole post loses credibility. So would it be objective to utilize the term, "blowhard", when describing you?
92. Israel in Haiti
Joanne Minsky ,   San Francisco, USA   (01.19.10)
I have been watching the news on Haiti, including the Israelis rescuing people and their doctors saving other lives. There are not enough doctors in Haiti. There were not enough rescuers, and people died because of that. All of the people that Israel's emergency response teams have saved, are thrilled that Israel have people who do this, and so unselfishly send them to help people who so dearly need them.
93. Haiti was dirt poor long before
JO   (01.19.10)
and in far far worse poverty than Gaza ever was. We are talking huts, not stone houses, poverty beyond anything Gaza has ever seen. Primitive conditions and this was before this horrible disaster. They also do not receive world aid like Gaza and the Palestinians do and the money raised now to help is a fraction of what the Palestinians receive yearly , most to mention the huge amount of aid in trucks that go through daily. Haiti never had such a hope. I would not wish Haiti on them, or use it to compare suffering or poverty- the contrast in pictures so too far away. Gaza is lucky .
94. palestinian @ 88, post 82 is not mine. However, post 72 is
leo ,   usa   (01.19.10)
and it is very much correct. And I do not have to be smoking anything to know it. And nobody else has to be smoking anything to recognize this little reality. BTW, do you know you could be a Jew? Oh, horror!
95. jerusalem @ 82, excellent sarcasm. Is this your defense
leo ,   usa   (01.19.10)
mechanism in action?
96. Offendedbyidfcrimes @ 89, Gaza is not occupied.
leo ,   usa   (01.19.10)
97. Gaza belongs to the Arabs
Ibrahim el-Awal ,   Dearborn, Michigan   (01.19.10)
Yes, Gaza belongs to the Arabs, particularly to Egypt. Isarel gave enough water, electricity endless supplies for many years. Gaza got 2,1 billion dollars last year only. What do they do with the money? Missiles. What do they do with cement? bunkers. Isarel should stop all support to Gaza. It is an arab problem. Let them solve the problems of Gaza. Only idiots feel that Israel can do more than Israel already did for Gaza and got missiles in return.
98. Steve Plocker on Haiti Rescue Mission
Ellen ,   Woodbridge USA   (01.19.10)
The difference between Gaza and Haiti is that the people of Haiti aren't looking to blow up or kidnap Israeli rescue workers. That's why Israel can set up a mobile hospital there and get to work. You cannot compare the two situations. Also - Israel's efforts in Haiti are NOT marginal. News coverage across the board has marvelled at what Israel has accomplished in such a short time. Yes, US and other countries have also begun to mobilize, but the Israeli team was the quickest to mobilize and has been the most effective in the chaos that has been bogging everyone else down in Haiti. In a crisis, every minute counts, and the Israeli team has not wasted any precious time and consequently has already saved MANY lives. You are clearly very jaded in your views. It might be time to get a new pair of glasses to appreciate the good things that really do happen in this world. - Ellen
99. oh my god
daniel ,   new york   (01.20.10)
you must be kidding with this stupid article.. well my dear, here is a solution for you.. the 22 arab countries WHICH DID NOT SEND AID TO HAITI, can send medical supplies instead of terror money to gaza. you fool
100. Think strategically, not ideologically
Adam ,   United States   (01.20.10)
If you want to oust Hamas and other radicals from power, you have to build in Gaza - it's the only way to win the hearts and minds of the people. It's not about being pro-Palestinian. It's about what's best for Israel. Think strategically, not ideologically.
101. Sever Plocker
Larry Ben ,   Atlanta GA USA   (01.20.10)
Sever Plocker is a jerk; criticizing saving peoples lives and saying the contribution is insignificant.
102. Hamastan
David ,   Perth, Australia   (01.21.10)
Sever you really are a Ploncker. Palestinian Arabs should be building their own hospitals with the 100s of millions in aid they receive but instead buy Grad missiles. Israel, whose destruction is their driving force, owes them nothing. Kol Hakavod to all of those saving lives and easing suffering in Haiti and screw Gaza..
103. Israel help in earthquake stricken Haiti
Mina Menkes ,   Philadelphia, PA   (01.21.10)
Kol HaKavod LaAretz shelanu!!! Ve Le kol echad she halach laAzor. What about the 12 people that were saved from under the rubble? Is that so marginal. I think marginal is a horrendous evaluation of Israel's contribution to their rescue efforts. Maybe they will send agricultural training. That isn't a bad idea either. Shalom!
104. Gaza?
W Post ,   Australia   (01.23.10)
That's a great idea you've come up with but didn't Israel set up a field hospital for the Gazans immediately after Cast Lead. And didn't it close because of Hamas pressure on it's people ensured that the locals didn't take advantage of the services offered. Congratulations for joining the mean spirited mob who can't resist the opportunity to snipe at every well meaning thing that Israel does for mankind.
105. Leftist nonsense....
Debbie ,   Montreal Canada   (01.29.10)
Absolute nonsense leftist propaganda... MDA is a legal and active member of the International Red Cross committed and obliged to extend a helping hand and save lives wherever and whenever needed, in the face of any natural catastrophe. Even today, 6 years after the Tsunami disaster, they are still maintaining a small community medical clinic in the devastated area. Unlike the people of Gaza whose own government and dozens of Arab nations worldwide with all their mighty wealth refuse to lift a finger in the aid of their own people who brought these miseries upon themselves by refusing to act like human beings - The people of Haiti didn't cause this natural catastrophe, No MDA and/or IDF representatives in Haiti had to step aside and make room for any Arab organization rushing to the aid of the Haitian people – or anyone else - EVER for that matter…..
106. Response toSever Plockeobjecting to Israeli relief for Haiti
Wolina Shapiro ,   New Jersey, USA   (01.31.10)
While Israel's assistance for Haiti may be just a small part of the International response to the tragedy, it has been the most efficient and effective one of all. It is also an indication of Israel's moral and ethical committment to mankind to spite the treatment it receives from the international community. Other organizations are still farfumphing and tangled in red tape trying to get their aid to those in need. We do not know what will happen to Israeli equipment when the team pulls out (one would hope that it will remain part of the scene for other doctors replacing the Israeli staff to continue helping those in need). Sending the same type of aid to Gaza would be a very good idea but where are Israeli's foes, the arab countries, when their own people need help? They have not done anything for Gaza or the "Palestinians" in more than 60 years and not one thing for Haiti or any of the other disasters which have plagued the world (Dafor, Indonesia, Biafra etc). All they do is take the aid supplied by the international community to enrich those who are already wealthy or support and export the terrorism they tacitly (if not openly) sponsor.
