The UK ASA is quite correct in its ruling as the simple matter is that these Jewish holy sites are not on Israeli land and haven’t been for over 2000 years. Yes these are Jewish holy sites but they are also holy to Christians and Muslims as well and we should never forget that fact. I would also add that just because these holy sites like the Cave of Machpelah are on Arab land this does not make them any less Jewish any more than if these sites were on Israeli land they would not be more Jewish!

This article is a load of rubbish! Jerusalem and Golan Heights are a part of Israel, so Israel should be allowed to advertise them for tourists, seeing as though the Western Wall is the holiest site for Jews.

Them not wanting to include Judea & Samaria and possibly even the Golan in the adds but Jerusalem and the Kotel. Whatever the oficial status according to ASA if this is about toursim then they should understand that most tourists who visit Israel are more interested in going to Jerusalem and the Old City than they are with the beaches of Tel Aviv. Showing these holy places in what is considered the holy land is not hurting or even upsetting anybody other than a few " concerned " British citizens. With or without the adverts the tourists know that Jerusalem and its holy places are all in Israel. I hope the British tourist brochures or posters do not include any of their own occupied territories they are Northern Irland which as it suggests is part of Irland. Get this straight, lady. The Western Wall is an integral part of Israel and an integral part of Judaism. Just remember, when TransJordan occupied the West Bank (yes you heard me correctly - they only ruled it from 1948-1967) No Jew was allowed to visit it or any other part of occupied (by said Jordanians) East Jerusalem. Not only did they not preserve our holy sites, they smashed the Jewish Quarter to smithereens. And no, I don't have a masters in anything to tell me that - I walked over "liberated" East Jerusalem exactly 1 year after the 6-day war. Your Master's won't help you here.
