61. Go Lieberman, go! And give Hess a nervous break-down!
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.21.10)
The bloke is going beserk. Lieberman is precisely what Israel needs at this point. He tells it as it is and can speak Obama's language - "bouncer" (#57) versus street thug. Thank God Livni is not in the picture as the poor soul will wither under Obama's gaze. This is not a situation for faint hearts. Israel had annexed Jerusalem with no apologies and if the world does not recognise it, too bad. Israel fought for and won it fair and square and has a legitimate claim to it. The Arabs lost any right to it when they attacked Israel and lost. The "world" that does not recognise the annexation did not fight the war, so they should just shut up because they just want to pander to the Arabs. Outsiders can draw any amount of maps they want of Jerusalem but they can't force Israel to recognise and accept them. They'll just be like the Pals, busy drawing and colouring maps with Crayola that nobody recognises. Hess can draw one too, for his Geography project. So Hess has an "important topic" - well let him go shout it from the Empire State Building or the minaret closest to him with a bull horn while he watches the massive crowd gather below. And since Hess is getting so loony craving for something that does not belong to him be shared around, let him calm his nerves by dividing his property and sharing it with others, preferably some poor Arabs. We don't want him being accused of racism. He can give away the front and the middle while he keeps the back where he belongs.
62. dear #55
les ,   canada   (04.21.10)
the reason you didn't know it, because he is NOT half arab. where ever he (and large segment of israelis) was born, he is a real ISRAELI PATRIOT, a man of integrity when it comes to stand tall for israel, and say what he believes in! what he stands for; JERUSALEM IS INDIVISABLE! do we understand each other?
63. au contraire, #8
Cameron ,   USA   (04.21.10)
Obama is the proverbial "lion without teeth" on this issue. He'll attempt any no. of gentle pressures the next few years, but, ever mindful of the widespread support for Israel among the US populace, as well as the shift that will be coming to Congress in Nov., he will not force the issue, and will increasingly step back if resistance grows too loud and firm. He's made clear his opposition to sole Israeli control over Jerusalem in a very loud, symbolic manner, and for a politician of progressive stamp, that will suffice. Oh you'll get various amounts of dramatic, sour gestures from Obama, but nothing that substantially alters the reality, on the ground, in Jerusalem, Hess.
64. all in the area yearn for peace
sam ,   colorado-USA   (04.21.10)
I think the current government does not want peace As long as he speak in this way (Jerusalem not negotiable)(Jerusalem is not up for negotiation)these words do not make any peace but it will only deepen the conflict I think peace is better now in longer the peace process will greater the resentment and hatred in the region will gave an opportunity for Syria, Hezbollah and Iran behind them The next war will be very harsh on Israel Because they have long-range missiles may targeted the depth of Israel now I think Israel needs to a Government of wise the all in the area yearn for peace does not have like Lieberman in it
65. To Ynet
Ed ,   Canada   (04.21.10)
I am not Jewish, yet I come away feeling dirty after reading talkbacks from the likes of Herr Hess et al. These bullies remind me of the nasty elements that used to attempt to gatecrash our teenage parties for no reason other than to spoil the event and piss in the salad. I cannot imagine how this must affect Jews that have to endure this on a daily basis. Maybe it is about time you required us to register to keep them out of our party. It was to defend ourselves against these elements my forefathers fought in two World Wars!
66. ONE JERUSALEM says Hashem...
oxo ,   USA   (04.21.10)
ONE JERUSALEM says Hashem...it is His land, and He willed it to the Jews. And I am a goy and not ashamed to stand for this FACT! And G_d also warns those who try to divide Jerusalem. May His just wrath consume the enemies of Israel (as if they haven't learned by now duh!).
67. Michael, here's how you impose peace...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (04.21.10)
Ring! Ring! Bibi: Hullo? POTUS: Bibi, I've gotten your message, and I have some news for you. Bibi: [rubs his hands together] Yes Mr. President? POTUS: The farce has gone on long enough. I really can't have a tiny country of 7.5 million very stubborn people holding up my vision of peace in the Middle East and those talkbackers on your news sites are just too obnoxious to not finally be answered. Bibi: But Mr. President, all we want is peace... POTUS: Prime minister! Don't interrupt me. Either publicly declare that you are ready to accept the parameters that are already well known to you, or every single last dime, including from all American citizens and organizations, will be cut-off just like we did with Cuba. Bibi: But, but Mr. President, we'll attack Iran [whisper, with the big bombs]. POTUS: Same result. You will be completely on your own. And if your attacks threaten US assets in the region you will be fired upon. Call me when you have decided to make the right decision and save Israel.
68. Well said,
Mary ,   US   (04.21.10)
There is no argument against anything Foreign Minister Lieberman has said. And how powerful to speak of having Israel's door still open, to invite genuine partnership. Independence Day is a great celebration for Israel.! You've fought long and hard to maintain your Independence.
69. Jerusalem is our Capital
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (04.21.10)
And will not be divided not even for the anti Semites who think differently or who are working for outside governments on this forum. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
70. Michael Hess #58
Brod ,   USA   (04.21.10)
There is no need spewing your Islamist-Jihadist crap. Jerusalem belongs to Israel since ancient time.
71. # 57
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
.Lieberman never spent a second on the streets throwing rocks at IDF soldiers, innocent Jewish women & children. He worked as a bouncer in a nightclub to pay his way through college. But then how can I expect you to understand what the word, work, means?
72. # 21
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
Cherokee,BBSNews, Michael Hess are your names. You are not named Obama & its not up to you "to make sure that the US no longer contributes......" All you are is a very full bag of hot air.
73. SO PALESTINIANS RIGHTS !
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (04.21.10)
74. #56 - an others who say: "nothing can be imposed/enforced"
eporue ,   europe   (04.21.10)
with this, you claim to have the right to occupy territory illegally. question: should this be permitted to every country as a general rule or just for you ?
75. Charotte??
YANIV ,   ISRAEL JERUSALEM   (04.21.10)
why do u think east jerusalm belongs to the arabs?
76. #56: Nothing can be enforced?
Eden   (04.21.10)
Does the Birdi rule also apply to Iran or just Israel? Anyway, Birdi rules don't have an US veto power and it wouldn't be the 1st UN resolution that gets enforced.
77. It would be better if Arabs and Jews share the city
Etti   (04.21.10)
but what can't be shared must be divided: Jewish Jerusalem to Israel and East Jerusalem with it's Arab neighborhoods to the Palestinians! The seperation will allow that both sides can claim Jerusalem as their capital.
78. Jerusalem not negotiable
Mark ,   LA USA   (04.21.10)
Gods country is israel the apple of his eye, and Jerusalem is Gods choosen city within Israel. No force will be able to take Jerusalem away from the jews. Obama can stop funds to Israel, Armys can attack her, But like the six day war where a force 20 times stronger then Israel tried to drive her into the ocean, the lord delivered her and took off the 7th day as a day of rest.
79. to 32
baara ,   jerusalem   (04.21.10)
yes you are right but i have another request ..at least do not put his photo ,i see he is not loyal with big eyes and silly smile and now i see he has bid hand . i do not like to read any thing he say it but i can not only to look to its photo
80. Anti-Semitism in the Obama administration?
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.21.10)
How much worse off, another year of Obama’s foreign-policy incompetence will leave the Middle East ? The “progressive” and “humanitarian” forces of the West have helped make real democratic and social reform unnecessary for the Arabic-speaking world and delivered it into decades more of violence, dictatorship, repression, stagnation, and failure – and improvement is not in sight : http://xrl.us/bgq7vp
81. Who cares what Liberman says
Avi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
As if anyone gives a hoot what that rascist criminal thug has to say.
82. Lieberman: I want to negotiate without precondition,
Yossi ,   Bat Yam Israel   (04.21.10)
But here is my conditions.... Like a good Stalinist from Moldavia, Liberman want peace the same way that Stalin wanted democracy!!!
83. # 56
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
We are talking about Jerusalem. It is not illegally occupied. I dont have the right to tell other countries what to do.
84. Next election his patry will have 25 seats!!!
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (04.21.10)
85. Palestinians have no rights to Jerusalem!
Katherine ,   Australia   (04.21.10)
This past Easter, Palestinian Christians from the West Bank were NOT ALLOWED to enter Jerusalem to worship at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus resurrected. Israel is freedom and democracy?? Yeah right. Just another example of why Israel shouldn't be given sole custody over Jerusalem.
86. Bouncer from Moldova
David ,   USA   (04.21.10)
So a Moldovian night club bouncer immigrates to Israel...and suddenly can declare that the local inhabitants who have lived there for centuries have no rights to the city in which they were born (unlike this bouncer). Interesting stuff!
87. Jerusalem do not like fascists Mr.Liberman
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.21.10)
Lieberman has a long history of hatred and violence against Palestinians, however we would like him in particular to abound of these positions, this helps us a lot. If the stones of Jerusalem speak,it will say to you get out from here, I'm the capital of Palestine and the Palestinians descendants of Canaan
88. Leiberman is right
Talula ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
Jerusalem is an integral part of Israel and should always remain as our capital. But that isn't to say that Arabs shouldn't be allowed to visit. There is no mention of Jerusalem in the Koran, NOT even ONCE! When Arabs pray, they pray towards Mecca and not Jerusalem, even so, the Al Aqsa mosque is a religious place for them, and they shouldn’t be banned from visiting. Jerusalem belongs to Israel, all north, south, east and west of it, simple as that.
89. #88 Salma, Palestine
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (04.21.10)
If you are looking for a capital for your new failed state, ask your friend Barakeh Hussein Obama. He will give you half of Washington, D.C.
90. # 88
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
