Oh Sarah B How futile your semblance of knowledge is: You claim that in 1948 the Arab Nations had 600,000 soldiers…hehe…why not make it a million…tell me are you hallucinating about being the Sparta Queen in 300. Fact: In 1948 most Arab Nations were not independent, and still under Colonial Rule. Only Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria & Irak engaged Israel in 1948. These 5 countries have just recently achieved independence, and what was called armies were merely remnants of police forces that the colonial powers created to maintain the peace. The total combined number of all 5 armies barely exceeded 55,000 men in 1948 poorly equipped with antiquated WWI era weapons, and never seen warfare before, as their role was limited to logistical support to their colonial powers’ armies during WWII. Of these 55,000, only about 6,000 were sent to Palestine under the banner of Arab Liberation Army with basic mission to safeguard the Palestinian Population, and help them stand against the forced deportation that the newly created Israeli state was implementing on Palestinians to make way for more incoming Jewish population following the declaration of independence.
