31. Turkish airspace closed- No loss(end)
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.28.10)
32. :: All Israel has to do is:
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.28.10)
1) Apologize for the hijacking and senseless killing of 9 Turkish civilians. 2) Return the aid ships and all the property stolen from the civilians on these ships. 3) Compensate the families of the 9 civilians needlessly killed in the hijacking. 4) Agree to an international investigation into why and how Israel botched up so badly. Once Israel does these 4 small things Turkey will find it within itself to forgive Israel and will reinstate full diplomatic ties and open its air space.
33. Turkey's prime minister will end up causing the entire west
Albert ,   Paris, France   (06.28.10)
to hate to deal with Turkey, and rightly so. The question is, do his people realize the damage that he causes the Turkish state and its people in their relationships with the rest of the world but for the Islamic states?
34. If we cant fly over turkey's air space then
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (06.28.10)
ANY ISRAELI THAT GOES THERE FOR A HOLIDAY ANY OTHER WAY IS A TRAITOR TO ISRAEL. WHY ARE WE SENDING THEM DRONES? WHY ARE WE SHARING OUR BLOODY SECRETS WITH THEM. ARE WE THAT STUPID??????????? (Well perhaps Barak is!)
35. It's Turkey's airspace... next time
seadog1946 ,   Shooters Island, NJ   (06.28.10)
use a scheduled commercial flight. As a diplomatic retort, maybe an Israeli military jet can overfly and break the sound barrier over Istanbul or Ankara... that will teach those Turks who are trying to slight a regional superpower like Israel.
36. to #32 only 4 were Turks the other 5 were
ghostq   (06.28.10)
foriegners. and no apology for HHI terror org. secondly the ship is already in Turkey. and no hajaking all the people returned back to Turkey. and Israel make her own investigation so there is no need for international one. some facts just escape you. wonder what else escape you.
37. Erdogan destroyed Turkey without a shot fired!
iObserver and News ,   USA   (06.28.10)
The hard reality is that the sane world (not to mention, it's major players) are not looking at Turkey in a kind light. Severe damage has been done to Turkeys reputation and global standing: when the only leaders backing you include the likes of Chavez, the leaders of Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah, you know you are in a world of hurt! Lol! Who needs Turkey? They have everything to lose in their downward spiral after the west handed them a silver platter. Time for the US to finally do the right thing and officially recognize the Armenian Genocide and for Hollywood to cut loose with a flurry of movies about it! The West must face the facts that poor backwards countries evolve at their own pace, not ours. So, let Turkey live at their own level: apparently, that's what the fools want!
38. Airspace Closed Except For IDF Deliveries of Military Goods
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (06.28.10)
39. #32 Matty Groves
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (06.28.10)
Why don't you try to attack some US soldiers with a iron bar and a knife and tell us what happened?
40. when iran regime will be destroyed turkey will end alone
dovdevan ,   ashdod,israel   (06.28.10)
turning east to iran and syria is a stupidity that the turkish people will pay knowing that one day those regime will collapse democracy will emerge ! turkey will end up alone !
41. In the meantime....
moi ,   ici   (06.28.10)
the European Union is being quiet, no chance that Turkey can join the EU soon....well, that's no loss for the EU.
42. What are you talking about???
Singer   (06.28.10)
Get your facts straight!!!!
43. #17 many cant wait this moment
Mamud ,   Lebanon   (06.28.10)
and guess what, Turkey is not the loosing side, and NATO knows it, remember the European racial acts against turkey by banning it form joining the EU union. They need Turkey as Military power to get support for their aggressions against Muslims, but for them it's another Muslim country. yes brings the Turkish troops back home, it's much better than participating in killing their Muslim brothers.
44. Turkish airspace closed to Israel
sergi ,   china   (06.28.10)
What a lots of crap and b.....t in this blog, Show me any civilise country in this World who will send Israel roses when they will kill in cold calculated blood 9 citizen of this particular country, board in pirate style ships under flag of this country and size them. USA fight for the last body of MIA where ever they are engage same many other countries not speaking of pirates act in International waters. Even I sympathise with Israel but this time they have it wrong and I have to be on site of Turkey as sovereign State in this World Israel has incredible Goddes gift how to make enemies all around the World.....Congratulation!
45. Ger,Raanana Israel
Michael   (06.28.10)
I agree Ger. The plug has been pulled on Turkey. It's only a short matter of time until they (Turkey) go "down the drain" on a permanent basis. The arabs are donefor!
46. We need Turkey like a hole in the head
Scott ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.28.10)
Turkey is devolving into another Islamic basket case. For once, it would be nice if our leaders acted instead of reacted. Kick out the Turkish ambassador and stop selling the Turks our high-tech gear!!
47. # 32
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.28.10)
What would we do without your pathetic advice? I shudder to think. All you have to do is shut up.
48. No. 32
Anon ,   Johannesburg RSA   (06.28.10)
You are one gullible loser. Turkey wants war… your appeasement of Hitler figurines makes me sick. Turkey: “Only 3 simple demands Israel” Iran: “It’s only for peaceful purposes people” I am glad people like you are not in place of power, keep on spending your time on pathetic anti-Israel chit chat. Loser
49. ISRAEL IS AT WAR WITH ISLAM, NOT ARABS
Yaniv ,   Israel   (06.28.10)
I've been saying it all along and now I've been proven right. We don't see Christian Arabs blow themselves up in our population centers. Yet, many in Israel seem to always curse Arabs and refuse to saying anything bad about Islam. It seems that criticism against a religion is more racist than criticism against an ethnicity. The only good Muslims are the ones who don't practice much Islam, like in the Circassian community.
50. This is not about Israel
(06.28.10)
This is about Turkish frustration and desperation with western countries. They want more and they haven't been able to get it and they will go back to the ottaman times if they don't get it.
51. why not?!!
yyeliz ,   istanbul TR   (06.28.10)
Actually, Turkey does not limit civil flights, so she does not limit the freedom of the Israeli civils. But she just closed its airspace to Israeli military officials' flight. It may help Israel to have some emphaty with Palestinian people I hope.
52. :: Albrecht - #39
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.28.10)
This as nothing to do with US soldiers but everything to do with Israel and its refusal to admit it make a terrible mistake. It is high time for Israel to man-up and do the honorable thing and apologize to Turkey. After Israel can’t afford to lose Turkey as an ally while Turkey can easily afford to cut off relations with Israel until Israel sees sense and does the right thing.
53. When the Turkish islamist leaders ban El Al flo overs ...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (06.28.10)
will the Israelis get round to severing ALL ties with the Turks!? Or will they pander and continue to be kicked in the teeth while they are down? Maintaining ties with an islamist terror supporting state like Turkey now openly is will only bring more strife to Israel.
54. Stop with the drones crap already
Joseph ,   New York   (06.28.10)
The drones Israel sells to Turkey are the old ones Israel doesn't use anymore. So don't think that Israel is trying to help Turkey! Oh by the way with the money Turkey pays for the drones, Israel produces newer and of course better versions. Wake up people, why is Israel so afraid of apologizing for the flotilla mess? Just apologize and win Turkey back. Believe me it's better for Israel in a long term...
55. :: Anon - #48
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.28.10)
Oh stop being such a drama queen with your “Turkey wants war” nonsense. Unlike Israel Turkey is extending the hand of friendship and offering Israel a way out of the mess that Israel made. BTW there is nothing ‘anti-Israeli’ about wanting Israel and Turkey to make up, clearly it is in Israel’s interests to keep its only ally in the region. I’d hate to see Israel have no one to play with just because it can’t say sorry.
56. :: Birdi - #47
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.28.10)
You are right Birdi it would be unthinkable if I wasn’t here to give good solid advice to those who need it.
57. Sergi from China - Ni Hao
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.28.10)
You say 'Show me any civilise country in this World who will send Israel roses when they will kill in cold calculated blood 9 citizen...." Now yesterday the Turkish military killed two Turkish citizens in teh village of Hassa of Hatay while they were searching for PKK militants. Fighting terrorism is a difficult job. They hide behind civilians and use civilian causalities for their PR purposes. The IHH who organized the Mavi Marmara did the same. Its leader clearly stated on Turkish TV that he was happy with the 9 causalities because it made more impact. It was a calculated move on the part of the IHH to create these causalities therefore you should putth eblame where it belongs to the IHH and teh Turkish government for not stopping it. BTW: The ship was registered in the Comor Islands, not Turkey. It did not have a seaworthiness certification in Turkey. As you dig deep in the facts you will see that this was a despicable plot against Israel by th eIslamist AKP government of Turkey.
58. :: Did anyone see that...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.28.10)
...Turkey and Indonesia signed a civil aviation protocol today? Looks like they will be increasing the trade volumes between the two countries as well as improving friendly relations. Just thought I’d mention it.
59. YYeliz from Istanbul.
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.28.10)
Israelis have always felt empathy for their Arab neighbors. Just recently a Gazan girl had surgery at an Israeli hospital and it was reported here at Ynet. Israel has no issues with their Arab brothers, the issue is with the Hamas that does not want a Jewish state in the ME. The same Hamas that shoots their own Arab brothers in their knees when they do not agree with Hamas. As you might have already heard, fighting terrorism is not an easy task, and the TSK killed 2 civilians in Hatay's Hassa village by mistake yesterday. PKK is learning these new tac tics of hiding behind civilians and creating civilian causalities from the Hamas. Just like the PKK who is laughing at the 2 civilian causalities in Hatay, the IHH leader Bulent Yildirim is happy aboutthe 9 deaths at the Mavi Marmara, the hamas also are happy when some of their civilians lose their lives in the process of fighting Terrorism. They use the opportunity for public relations. Iyi uykularYeliz hanim.
60. To: No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.28.10)
Turkey is aligning itself with two losers, so Turkey is very much on the losing side. Contemplate the possibility that the EU is not very pleased about the ongoing massacres of the Kurdish people. How is that a racist act? And Turkish military power has not been tested since Cyprus (1974), and that is scarcely a test. Don't overestimate the inherent weakness of the Turkish military; the fact that it is untested and the fact that Turkey will quite shortly be booted out of NATO. Who will Turkey depend upon then? Iran? Syria? Venezuela? Yeah, right. Chuckle.
