Let the boy's action be a reminder of the awesomeness of our G-d.
3. Expert on the six books of the Mishnah (man made)
Josh   (07.18.10)
Devarim 4:2 You can not add nor subtract a word for the sepher Torah given that day. He might be praised for learning Christianity books or Muslim books all day? Illegal additions are illegal additions. I cannot take pride in brainwashing.
4. 14 Year Old & Ordination
Rabbi Ari Enkin ,   Beit Shemesh   (07.18.10)
King Solomon can become king over Israel at 12 years old, but a 14 year old cannot receive rabbinic ordination? ......I dont want to imagine what Judaism would look like if we would have had a rabbanut back then. Rabbi Ari Enkin

wants to give lessons to true Jews , Goyim can't judge what our Great Rabbanim teached and wrote .
6. 3 stop it !
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (07.18.10)
One who is full of himself fills all the space around him. There is no room left for anyone else. Therefore, he despises another person by virtue of the space that other person consumes. He may give reasons for his disdain, but the reasons are secondary. This is called wanton hatred. It is the reason given for our exile. It is the core of all evil. It is balanced and cure by wanton acts of love and kindness
7. Saducee
Tzadok ,   u.s.a.   (07.18.10)
No. 3: The saducees who rejected the Oral law faded into extinction long ago.
8. Josh, you're a bad manipulator of texts
Pinchas ,   Modi'in, Israel   (07.18.10)
The actual hebrew of the line your quote doesn't mention a sefer at all. You needed that to make it sound like only the written word is valid. Either that or you don't understand Hebrew. Your pathetic attempt to invalidate oral law is I suppose representative of the fact that you don't understand Torah at all.
9. His friends are hardly going to be by the pool or the beach

11. 5,6,7,8 hahah - so touchy about maintaining the lie
Josh   (07.18.10)
Your found out. You've lost already. Pinchas do you spend all that time learning these illegal additions that you don;t know the book of devarim well enough as to avoid making yourself look stupid and uneducated? Do you think I will fall for out-of-context rantings using Gan Eden tricks? Dev 4:8 ..this entire Torah that I place before you today.. Dev 4:44 This is the entire Torah that Moses placed before the children of Israel... Devarim 8:1 The entire comandment that I command you today... 10:13 ...this day... 11:8 the entire commandment...this day 13:1 The entire word that I command you ... 13:19 ...that I command you this day. 28:58 iym lo tishmor laasot et col devri hatorah hazot haketovim bsepher hazeh "If you don't gaurd to do this whole word of torah; this written in this BOOK..." All throoughout the book of Devarim it states again and again and again "this day" and "these laws". It also like any good contract states several time no adding of subtracting for these laws this day. Sorry to inform any and everyone that we have been misled up until now.
12. Ynet take note......
Al   (07.18.10)
On the same day you write about this incredible kid you also write about the sexual habits of young secular Isreali Jews. Donuts to coffee you will return to what you do so well. That is ... Waging a Goebbels type kulturkamf against Religious Judaism and those who follow the Torah. Shame on you for promoting self hatred amongst the Jewish people. You will always be a rag and nothing more.
13. Josh, I'm afraid the only one misled is you...
Pinchas ,   Modi'in, Israel   (07.18.10)
Josh, I see you needed to switch to another quote since the last one didn't work out so well. You don't explain how all those references to this day or the word don't include the oral law. The only person being misled is you. There can be no Torah without the oral law, and if you claim to follow the Torah without the oral law you're only lying to yourself, as you've had to make up your own oral law to follow. You're leading yourself astray, or more likely someone else has led you astray with some such nonsense, and filled in whatever they want to control you better. Wake up Josh.
14. 11 , this convert again thinks he is right
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.18.10)

15. Re: 3 Karaite
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (07.18.10)
B"H The Rambam in Sefer Mamrim, Chapter three, Halacha one says: "A person who does not acknowledge the validity of the Oral Law (like you "Josh") is not the rebellious elder mentioned in the Torah. Instead he is one of the heretics and he should be put to death by any person"" In Halacha 2 he continues: "Since it has become known that such a person denies the Oral Law, he may be pushed into a pit and may not be helped out. He is like all the rest of the heretics who say that the Torah is not Divine in origin, those who inform on their fellow Jews, and the apostates. All of these are not considered as members of the Jewish people. There is no need for witnesses, a warning or judges for them to be executed. Instead, whoever kills them performs a great mitzvah and removes an obstacle from the people at large." May G-d continue to bless the young Moshe!
16. # 11
BEN ,   SINGAPORE   (07.19.10)
Wisdom comes from G-d. it is a balance between wisdom and knowledge. The Joshua we know was filled with the spirit of WISDOM. This JOSH ( here at POST 11) thanks the waiters althought the wine belongs to the owner of dirinkers . ( if he is really a Jew he will understand this ). His wine is of the alien source. Josh is married to some place else . We Jews will not drink the wine he drinks. May Josh repent and be guiltless towards G-d and towards Israel . THE FOOD OUR FATHERS EAT ( THAT FELL FROM HEAVEN) RUNS IN OUR BLOOD- PASSED ON FROM GENERATIONS TO GENERATIONS to date and forever. WE SHARE THE BOND, COVENANT AND THE HERITAGE BY OUR LINEAGE AND WE CARRY THE RIGHTEOUS GENTILE WITH US. WE SHALL NOT BE GUILTY TOWARDS G-D AND ISRAEL. We SHALL STAND WITH OUR TALMUDIC SAGES OF TORAH TALMUD AS A WHOLE. JOSH GO YOUR WAY - BEN SINGAPORE
17. knowledge and wisdom are not correlated
AT ,   Boston, MA   (07.19.10)
The child appears to be a Torah prodigy, and he should be strongly encouraged to continue this ... but wisdom requires much more than knowledge. It requires experiences, interactions with people, and, most of all, time to reflect.
18. Re: #15 You selectively quote from Rambam.
Michael ,   Toronto   (07.19.10)
You have ignored what Rambam wrote about the Karaites and that all of them are in the category of "tinok shenishba", a Jewish baby that was taken and raised by non-Jewish. Rambam wrote to approach them with love and attempt to bring them back. It's ironic that with all your Rambam quotes you go against the Rambam by seeming to advocate killing all non-Orthodox jews. You probably only meant to prove that Rambam held that Jews should "acknowledge the validity of the oral law", which is in itself very obvious. However, in addition to going against Rambam's advice on relating to Karaites, you also seem to be an idiot for not considering how your post looks like an instruction to kill all non-Orthodox jews. Thank G-d Jews do not kill each other for ideological reasons!
19. Thank you all for the cult demonstration
Josh   (07.19.10)
To pinhas:. I attempted to give you more informattion and what a waste pouring intelligence into such a void turned out to be. It is clear again and again the entire Torah was given in a book in one day that could not be added to or subtracted from. You can't prove otherwise. No interpretation needs. It is not over the sea. Sepher "Torah" is clearly defined as a single book given on one day and one day only. A neat and clean contract. You saw the passeges but refused to heed it. We don't (can't by law) follow additions of false or non-prophets to Torah. "the oral law" is fradulent and very easily eliminated as not holy/good and not Torah. The test of Deut 13 can be devine but failing it is still evil. When Moses said dont add to what I give you today. It made any addition evil which is not holy. "Adding" needs no explanation from black hats. Whether written or oral anything new is clearly additions. And seriously, who is idiiotic enough to believe the "Oral Torah" is not an addition and not really WRITTEN! How stupid we will look in the heavenly or any righteous court explaining that whopper of a lie. Certainly all that writing including the wonderful cultic threat to kill people like me for doing Torah laws of not adding is a beakon to show the world how cult leaders strong arm the Hebrews into mental cages. LET MY PEOPLE GO! Why doesn't the Rabbi say to bring the "infadel" to him and he will kill that heritic? Because he wants a Hebrew to sin commit murder and lose their soul? Baalam would be happy. Babylon used their Arameaic teachings to make donkeyboys out of our mules. He is not prepaired to do it himself. Sadly about that young Yeshiva student ? The passage you give would raise questions. What a great sin it is to say Moses is misleading me. It is not accross the ocean that I need a Rabbi to get it for me. Moses did just fine as hired by the best boss in the universe. This Oral Torah is a dragging anchor that mocks our stature because it witneses that we allowed torah to be corrupted. Not by a flase prophet doing Miracles, but worse, by strange behaving men saying outrageous things. If for this warning I give, I am launched against by the very captives of these men, so be it. May G-d help us all to see the way through the inevitable choose death storm that our leaders have set a course for again and again. We barely survived the last. The "Rambam " aka non-prophet tells me do it or else? I am not brainwashed. No deal. "he is one of the heretics and he should be put to death " I recall Hitler saying something similar. The crusades? Jihad? My how cultic killings spread blanketing themselves over claims they can change and add to Torah. ' "He is like all the rest of the heretics who say that the Torah is not Divine in origin" I love how this exactly matches Steve Hassan characteristics of a cult. The redefinition of sin. Torah is devine in origin- illegal additions might also be an ecvil ddevine test, but it is not choose life but the devinely written Torah option of choose death. According to Torah I am supposed to stone a false prophet who adds to Torah. In fact all of Israel is suppose to. So I guess we all have the same fishy swimming around in the back of our thoughts as we look out the corners of our eyes at each other. "whoever kills them performs a great mitzvah" So murder is now a mitzvah? That is complete opposite of several Torah laws. Two witness, court, thou shalt not murder, no adding this law this day this sfer Torah.. Chet in G-d's eyes and deserving of curses. Murder is illegal. Why is anyone following such blatent disregard for Torah unless forced by cult teachings? These are not Oral explanations of the laws we needed help understanding rather totalitarian cultic bullying. False prophets: "You shall not acede to him!" I'll take my chances with G-d.
20. #7 and sadducee
Eddie ,   london UK   (07.19.10)
Actually, tzadok, you are wrong on 2 counts: The Sadducees continued in several tribes, including the Persian Israelites and the early Karaites. Next, even if they had disappeared, that doesnt mean they were wrong. The Prophets also disappeared, so does that mean the Rabbis also reject the Prophets? Actually, the rabbis do not accepthe Neviim, and grudgingly allow them to remain in the canon.
21. #15 + Rambam
Eddie ,   london UK   (07.19.10)
Rambam was a great philosopher and astronomer. Unfortunately, his brilliance was not translated into understaning the Torah. For example, although the Torah defines the term "memacharat hashabbat" and memacharat hapesach" [see Joshua 5, Rambam falsely determines the day after the Pesach as being 16th of the 1st month, whereas the Torah defines it as being 15th (Num. 33 3). Hence jsut like a fasle prophet can be great , but misleads his audience, so can a great rabbi mislead his flock. Although I respect Rambam's intellectual achievements, there were greater muslim doctors and philosphers than him, who were his mentors, eg Avicenna. The argument that a great man as big as Rambam cannot be wrong is contrary to logic, and also to Torah.
22. 13 Pinchas, there is, was and will be ..
Eddie ,   london UK   (07.19.10)
Torah without oral law. Torah forbids shatnez, everywhere, and Yehezkel maintains it should not be worn in the Temple. Rabbis claim that the Kohanim would wear shatnez! Many other examples! You are just stuck in your own propaganda.
23. charlie 5 - No True scotsman fallacy
Eddie ,   london UK   (07.19.10)
And what is a true Jew Charlie? SOmeone who you define as such? Or only someone who agrees with your dogma? That is known as the No True Scotsman fallacy. And BTW, why was the Temple destroyed, if the Pharisees were so wonderful and righteous? And why did the Sadducee -Hasmonaim succeed in their revolt agaisnt the Greeks?
24. Rabbis Bought and Paid For
Doreen Ellel Bell-Do ,   Tzfat   (07.19.10)
The shameful decision of the Chief Rabbinate shows me that they are bought and paid for by goyim, just like every other gov't ministry. Jews, real Jews, have always encouraged Jewish genius, not thwarted it. If goische agents like this operated in the past, we migh not have had a Rabbi Meir, Shame on you! You are a dishonor to the Torah and the Jewish People and most certainly to the God of Yisra'el. The Rabbinate has proven its true loyalties.
25. 23 A true Jew is the contrary of this josh
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.19.10)
Not always attacking Rabbanim , not only think that only the torah has to be obeyed , not thinking that he knows religion better as all the Rabbanim and our great sages together .
26. No matter how prodigious an intellect
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.19.10)
this fourteen year old boy may possess, there is no substitute for learning by experience and no substitute for the wisdom which comes, if it comes at all, from suffering. Would any of you actually approach this boy when a difficult problem confronts you? I, myself, would go to an older man (or woman) whose understanding has been filtered and precisioned through hardships and self-reflection.
27. Hafuk al hafukh
Doreen Ellel Bell-Do ,   Tzfat   (07.19.10)
While I am entirely sure that there are agents working for non-Jewish interests within the Rabbinate, we see the foreign influences they inject into Torah education everywhere; there are also real Jews within the Rabbinate who try to contain the damage. It may very well be that some real Jews did him a favor by not letting him get caught in the net of the Rabbinate, which, being a gov't agency, is being funded by goyish money.
28. #25, don't answer my rhetorical qns,
