1. Lieberman is on the money
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, Utah   (09.05.10)
Peace to equal suicide is not an option. The only solution is for all the Pals to move out of Gaza, Judea, Samaria and all areas of Israel. They want to have Muslim style lives. No problem, they have more than 30 Muslim coutries to go.
2. finally someone who has a brain
blash ,   Jerusalem   (09.05.10)
3. It's good to hear from Lieberman
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (09.05.10)
I have been waiting a long time to hear Lieberman weigh in on this issue and my patience has paid off. His opinion matches mine and is more realistic than both Bibi’s and Barak’s. I am very tired of hearing from Barak and I feel that Bibi allows him too much influence in his administration. I realize that this arrangement is necessary to maintain the coalition, but my gut is telling me that Barak needs to pay more attention to his duties as defense minister and stop trying to wear so many hats. Anyway, I would like to continue to hear more from Lieberman and a lot less from Barak.
4. Lieberman
Avraham ,   Ottawa,Ontario   (09.05.10)
Get this destructive dinosaur out of the government. He is an embarassment.
5. You can try to make peace with the devil, but
B.E. ,   Whangarei, N.Z.   (09.05.10)
the conclusion is foregone. You only get it on his terms, his way and with his end in mind. surrender to that and you get the only thing he has to give - his own self-generated hell.
6. That is obvious. Extreme left-wingers said the same
Ron ,   Tel Aviv   (09.05.10)
thing in their articles on Yanet.
7. Lieberman is brilliant
Brod ,   USA   (09.05.10)
Lieberman is brilliant. He is absolutely right. Israel should have more leaders like him. The fact is the wolves and tigers of the region cannot and will not become sheeps overnight. As masters of Taqiyya to fool Israel, they are great actors but their heart is far from true peace. To them it is a tactic to rid Israel of Judea and Samaria. The fact is Judea and Samaria are Israel's liberated historic homeland-Land of Israel that is GOD-GIVEN and GOD-RESTORED. NO mortals should dare tamper with GOD'S Covenant of Restoring Modern Israel in their Ancient Land of Israel. Jeremiah 31:1-17, Ezekiel 36:24-38, Ezekiel 37:21-28, Ezekiel 39:27=29, Amos 9:14-15.

12. Amen, Brod. #7.
The 11th Man. ,   London.   (09.05.10)
13. i agree with every word, but an agreement is necessary - NOW
eporue ,   europe   (09.05.10)
he is right, but - the current situation is unsustainable. WITH the border-definition there will come the recognition of everyones state. the recognition by the intl community also brings duties, which the PA will have to learn - or to feel... also, liebermans picture is too small - there is more in the world: as long as israel acts not according to intl law regarding the territories, its difficult to impossible to apply any *international* "punishment" at the PA, hamas etc... they are in an undefined status, eventually nobody and nothing can be hold responsible.. and this is - BECAUSE YOU HAVE YOUR FOOT IN IT... as a "punishment" from your side, its not acceptable, that you just take everything away from them, send the military in, and that over decades. thats no solution, and at least over time it has a counterproductive effect. you dont make friends with that: not at the arab side, nor on the intl one. neither the arabs nor the intl are friends of "palestine" either, just for the record. maybe there is never a chance to put "an end" to the violence. but WITH an agreement, there are definitely many more tools applicable on this palestinian state, or its terror cells. without an agreement, there is for 100 % no chance to put an end to the violence. lieberman is right, but an agreement on the borders has to be settled. completely, leaving nothing open anymore. no stupid games with lots of concessions, just to have the PA and intl community shutting up - for a while...
14. Bought Off
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (09.05.10)
Lieberman is correct. Seems like the Current Israeli government or elements of it wants a agreement at any cost. The question is why??? http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
15. and - who is abbas and who is israel "dealing" with...
eporue ,   europe   (09.05.10)
what clowns is lieberman waiting for, to deal with ? who has the "right" to be the spokesperson for the "palestinian" state ? who is electing in "palestine" ? who are really "eligible" voters for a palestinian state ? no, not by hamas interpretation, but by the international = legal one... what uneducated residents of gaza and west bank have the right to determine the fate of a country and the future of all unborn children ? an agreement will be signed by jordan and egypt. and its them, who have the right to decide over the place and the people. egypt and jordan will act in accordance with the arab league.
16. Lieberman..is the only one it seems ...
Malone ,   Hfx   (09.05.10)
...with a grasp on reality. Israel needs more like him and less of the Livni, appeasing types.
17. Lieberman for PM!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (09.05.10)
The only politician with the batzim to say the truth!
18. help Netanyahu stand firm
galut ,   selah   (09.05.10)
tell Ms CLinton negotiations will not be one sided - Netanyahus Government must stand with one voice remember Abbas however well intention - has a gun aimed at his head by Hamas...so concessions from him will be like pulling hens teeth...
19. Peace
David C ,   NY USA   (09.05.10)
Peace will be attainable under the following scenario. An interim agreement is discussed and possibly reached with the PA for the West Bank only. It should bring in the other Arab states that support this result including the Arab League. This is really just a political alignment of those who oppose Iran. The looming war with Iran thus has its sides. This includes the PA. The opposing side includes Hamas. The war with Iran takes place.Iran's military, industrial, scientific and theological infrastructure is destroyed. This includes attacks on the regime's leadership itself. Hezbollah and Hamas will join in. They will be leveled this time. If Syria joins in they will suffer the consequences. Only with such a defeat will the basis be laid for a peace agreement that covers all parties. The US should have no obligation to rebuild Iran either.
20. Finally a voice of reason and courage.
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (09.05.10)
21. Lieberman makes sense
RayS ,   USA   (09.05.10)
What a pleasure to hear someone speak the truth. What a contrast to Barak and Bibi's wishy-washy hedging. Too bad Lieberman isn't the PM .Then Israel wouldn't behave like a "Banana Republic".
22. True peace will come with the Messiah of Israel, until then-
DON'T split the land ,   that belongs to GOD!   (09.05.10)
Joel 1:6 is an example of where he calls the land 'MY LAND'
23. Leiberman, sadly, is 100% correct
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (09.05.10)
Peace won't start to happen until the PA amend their charter and Hamas and Hezbollah are vanquished
24. peace talks
shoshana ,   tel aviv Israel   (09.06.10)
Libermann go home, you are ruining my life, my future and the future of the country
25. The Arabs gave their peace initiative and the Americans
Sultan ,   Jeddah   (09.06.10)
elected Obama but Israelis voted the far right in. how can there be peace when yishai bib and lieberman are in power? even if arabs fulfilled all their obligations your conservatives would always stand against peace. You should have elected Livni. She is welcomed with open arms in many islamic countries because she is simply smarter than bibi. she knows when to go to war like she did in gaza two years ago but she also knows when to make reasonable concessions.
26. The truth is unpleasant, but better than pursuing a delusion
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.06.10)
Going only by these comments, I find nothing to take issue with. The generation of Palestinians who have taken taken hatred of Israel with their mothers' milk, who have been cheered on by the useful idiots of the left, and led by their Arab "brothers" to believe Israel's destruction is within sight, will not make peace with Israel. Not anytime soon. The US, EU and UN are nothing less than enablers of Palestinian intransigence. Only when the former to wash their hands of the Palestinians and treat them no better than other "poor suffering" populations will the latter face reality. As it is, aggression is "cost free", as demonstrated by the donors conferences on behalf of Gaza after Cast Lead. That has to change.
27. Smart thinking but stupid talking
Joe ,   Canada   (09.06.10)
Having not been part of the team going to Washington, Liberman appears to justify his (probably involuntary) absence at the talks by stating that since the outcome is a foregone conclusion he did not loose his time uselessly. However, from his position as a minister, he only causes Israel political harm by inconsederate talk at the wrong time. And it is unfortunately not the first of his inopportune pronouncements.
28. That is why this November the GOP will win big and the Dems
robert ,   usa   (09.06.10)
can thank their leader for revealing his true colors. And just as Obama will be disgraced so will all those who are associated with this peace nonsense.
29. Lieberman is saying the Emperor is wearing no clothes.
JMK ,   NYC   (09.06.10)
30. to #24 Shoshana and IS Abbas against terrorism?
Yaakov ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.06.10)
Shoshana, what kind of drugs are you taking, because if you disagree with what Lieberman said you are living a delusion. You also are an enabler for our lives to be ruined and will help the erasure of our future and the future of our country. Lieberman was correct in everything he said except that Abbas is not against Terrorism (violence). Abbas is the head of the Plo/PA/Fatah terrorists (AL Aksa Martyrs brigade and Al Namir(who claimed responsibility for the shooting brutal attacks) who conintues to order attacks against Israel albeit at a slower pace as he feigns to be for peace. 1 month and 1/2 ago he told the Arab league that he was ready to fight an all out war against Israel (at a higher pace) but only if they would join him. Peace maker?
