rose ,   New York NY   (10.08.10)
Imagine Israel what happens to you if Europe is flooded. Israel will drown in bombs and mushroom clouds!
62. Very true #40...those were the days.
Israeli 2   (10.08.10)
63. Well done
J Streicher ,   Ge   (10.08.10)
I could not have written a better article myself Julius
64. To #6 , Jews in Eureope
Steven ,   USA   (10.08.10)
To Split The Resident Moron: The Jews were exiled to Rome by the Roman Legions in 70 AD, which is 60 years less than 2000 years. From Rome with the Legions moved to Central and Western Europe. So those that say 2000 years are right and you are dead wrong. I hope this simple mathematics is not too complicated for you. Leave the Khazars alone you imbecile, nobody claimed that were ethnic Jews, they were converts.
65. ok
J ,   Jacksonville US   (10.08.10)
jews & europeans please see eye to eye at this time and work together
66. europe
The day ,   canada   (10.08.10)
Noahs flood was regional not world wide. Only white man kind came from adam and eve. The sons and daughters of adam and eve today are white european heritage people.
67. Europe should rectify the situation
Cynic #2   (10.08.10)
Take back the Jews from Israel, expel the Muslims to Palestine. 1. this will solve the Israel Palestine issue 2. The Jews will feel more comfortable living in their ancestral home of 2000 years 3. there are more business opportunities in Europe and a big market 4. the Europeans are civilized more friendly towards Jews and they'll feel more at home instead of living under the threat prolonged wars with the savages of the Middle East. 5. Europe will not have a Moslem problem, no more burqas, no more mosques and will not have to be embarrassed by enacting discriminatory laws. 6. East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet And everybody will live happily ever after. Worth considering, don't you think?
68. To 32 - 2 cent
Margo ,   Cambridge, UK   (10.08.10)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, very amusing. Ignorant silly man:)
69. To the author of this article: Relax, Israel will be flooded
much sooner   (10.08.10)
As much as gloating to Europe's problems is tempting, you forget that we in Israel face a much bigger problem. With the birthrate of the ultra-orthodox and Arab comminities in Israel, Israel will cease being a normal / secular / modern / developed / liberal / democratic state much sooner than Europe becomes muslim.
70. europe - prepare for blood
sas ,   israel   (10.08.10)
well written and it certainly is true.
71. What a cynical publish full of thoughts of revenge
David ,   Köln, Germany   (10.08.10)
Well its not as worse here as you like to imagine. Our society in the long run do assimilate the muslims (which are still a very small minority with 4,5%) and not the other way around. In the end we will take advantage of this many cultures in Europe, the arab culture included..You also like to forget the birth rates of the muslims also fall and soon go align with everybody else.. But indeed we must find tougher performance requirements on political level..
72. How many arabs have immigrated to Israel again, oh 20%...
Neo ,   EU   (10.08.10)
73. You start to hit on the true jist of the matter, #48
Cameron ,   USA   (10.08.10)
Jews were welcomed in the Islamic world historically, but it was the welcoming toleration of contempt. The Muslim world was happy to welcome & increase the Jewish community for their economic industry, and as a resource for greater taxation, but Jews walked just as quietly & carefully in Muslim lands over the centuries as they did in Europe. The historical record is quite clear on this matter.
74. Thanks to the religious, we don't face the same fate
Yaniv ,   Israel   (10.08.10)
Jews in Israel have 3.4 children per household, thus tying the Arabs in childbirths. Eat your heart out, Europe!
75. #69
Torgeir ,   Oslo & Norway   (10.08.10)
At least we'll not have to deal with your haredim. They seem to be a handful...
76. #63 Julius
Joseph   (10.08.10)
I always admired your sense of modesty. You amazed me again. I suggest you talk to the author of this article and convince him to join our new club : KKK . Sincerely yours, Joseph Goebbels. a message to all the talkbackers here who think this article is not meant to take you for a ride, please join the KKK as well. They always look for new members
77. You have an unavoidable disaster building, #71
Cameron ,   USA   (10.08.10)
In the finest European tradition, you'll avoid dealing with it until it finally grabs you by the neck, and is trying to shake you to death. What happened to Lebanon & Yugoslavia is a taste of what awaits in future years. The Yanks will not pull your EU bottom out this fire.
78. To Sarah from Jerusalem #40
m   (10.08.10)
Before you are commenting on something at least YOU should read history. Can I recomend you a wonderful book called: From time Immemorial by Joan Peters? Also why not read Bernard Lewis's books on Islam and the Jews. It might open your eyes on the "wonderful life" Jews had in the Arab countries
79. Europe. prepare for flood
Ariadne ,   London   (10.08.10)
#43. Scotland did not expel Jews and there is anecdotal evidence that some Jews who escaped from England fled to Scotland.
80. To Deborah Aviv
Philip ,   Miami-Paris   (10.08.10)
Dear Deborah, You don't need to go to Paris, just go to Montreal... As for the train stations, I don't think you got the point. Take the train from CDG to Paris and you will visit all these wonderful cities that were once French and are now north african muslim colonies such as Villepinte, Sevran, Aulnay-sous-bois, Drancy (where they gathered the Jews before sending them to auschwitz), Le Blanc-mesnil, La Courneuve, etc... You might find confort in denying it and thinking that Paris will always be Paris but it's the truth nonetheless... Have a great day in lalaland where you must be living. PS: Paul you must be kidding or maybe the London you mentionned is in Ontario!
81. You're wrong
Rivki ,   Brooklyn, NY, USA   (10.08.10)
Avi Rath has a right to say what he feels. Although he speaks for himself, I, as a Jew, totally agree with him, and I'm sure most other Jews do too. Europe deserves what it's getting.
82. remember the paris riots
dani   (10.08.10)
these will be repeated in not too long in many places across europe. but the europeans know the truth, that is why europe is turning to the right. but after world war 2, europe is still shattered. amazing how the continent has still not recovered and lies in a pacifist, petrified and post traumatic state.
83. karma.....
VanZorge ,   NJ, USA   (10.08.10)
is a bitch, ain't it??
84. will europe EVER learn
VanZorge ,   NJ, USA   (10.08.10)
twice, during the 20th century, the USA had to go and save europe from it's sorry self. so, this is actually not a surprise that europe has once again let itself be taken over by the forces of evil. perhaps, this time we should just let europe slide into the hell that it has been flirting with for the past 100 years. then all of them can go sit in their cafes and cry into their latte's. just sayin'............
85. chris.....
VanZorge ,   NJ, USA   (10.08.10)
you sound like a nice and decent person. just be aware that many of the dutch people that are relocating to your country may bring their liberal politically correct politics with them
86. We didn't destroy you
Talitha ,   Rotterdam, NL   (10.08.10)
My grandparents have helped a lot of Jews in the the 2nd World War. It's not like all of us didn't want Jews. And I now live in a neighbourhood filled with all cultures, (including muslims) but I never have trouble with them. I get more annoyed by politicans like Geert Wilders, than the people he's talking about. Politicians don't know, they live in different places, talk to different people. They don't know the real life, among the people. Don't get scared. Respect each other. Reach out. Stop throwing people out! Especially when you do it, because of a religion. It's absurd!
87. And Europe continues to be anti-Semetic
elianna ,   Jerusalem   (10.08.10)
to blame the Jew- quite ironic.
88. What will happen to Israel then?
kaylee ,   Leeds England   (10.08.10)
You say let Europe sink. When it does Israel won't be far behind. Just think of all the nuclear bombs that will be pointing at you from an Islamic Europe.
89. #78
Line Singer ,   Århus, Denmark   (10.08.10)
At least do us the courtesy and tell us you KNOW the controversy regarding Joan Peters' book. Most people have come to the conclusion that it has no scholarly value whatsoever. The claims are not supported and she hasn't used a single Arab source. I am PRO-Israel, but we don't need liars to speak for us.
90. More Israeli tripe
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (10.08.10)
I am always amazed at the complete lack of both historical knowledge and rational discourse exhibited by Israeli apologists. There is no 'Clash of Civilizations' as stupidly proposed by Bernard Lewis. Nobody in Europe or America should ever be fearful of the imposition of sharia law. Only in Israel where the state imposes halachik law while holding itself out as a 'western democracy' is such racist and religious tripe accepted by the majority. In both Europe and the US, such views of Islam as overcoming secular law is only held by nutjobs. In Israel, it seems, the nutjobs reign.
