We have heard about how its wrong for Israel to introduce this bill but if the anti loyalty oath bill feel so strongly about their arguments its wrong then please explain to me exactly what is the problem based on REALITY not IDEOLOGY. FACT - most countries demand that any potential new immigrants must swear an oath of loyalty to the country based on the countries chosen national identity. FACT - whilst there might not be a clear definition of who the state considers to be jewish even the leftists and people who are pro a secular religion free state cannot deny at this current point in time Israel is officially a jewish state. FACT - it doesn't always work properly but in theory at least Israel is a democracy. Jewish state + democracy = jewish democratic state .. as Mr Spock would say simple logic. As far as I can see the argument of the leftists is based on politically correct socialist ideology. Its also essential to have this bill if we are going to have any talks with palestinians. They still see Israel as oart of Palestine which they have a duty to liberate one day and 2 states is the launch pad. If they go on record and say Israel in its negotiated borders belongs to the jews not palestinians then there is nothing to liberate.
