61. Ahmed Tibi & loyalty oath
Israeli Patriot   (10.13.10)
I am ashamed that Yediot Achronot gives speaking platform to the hater of Israel!
62. Sarah B
Lev ,   US   (10.13.10)
Sarah, Why don't you leave my country and return to yours? Are you jealous of Dr Tibi's Taxpayer-paid Mercedes and first class trips? Why are you here?
63. Sarah B #32
Lev ,   US   (10.13.10)
Sarah, Why don't you leave my country and return to your own? Are you jealous of Dr Tibi's Taxpayer-paid Mercedes and first class trips? Why are you here?
64. ARAB VS. APLESTININ RIGHTS
Yakov ben Yosef ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.13.10)
Tibi is a terrible traitor with treasonous behavior which needs condemnation. Arab "Palestinians" do not recognize Israel and the Jewish people so they can not enjoy rights. Arab Israelis on the other hand enjoy equal and full rights. Ask Tibi who is a Deputy of Israel's Knesset (Parliament). 11 others out of 120 enjoy this right presently.
65. and Iran is an Islamic republic
Ibrahim el-Awal ,   Dearborn, USA   (10.13.10)
Mr. Tibi lives in La La Land: all Arab states are Muslim states. The Saudi flag reads lā ’ilāha ’illa-llāh muḥammadun rasūlu-llāh "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah". Tibi never complained about Saudi ethnic cleansing. Sunni, ya Ihwani, go to Tehran and see how a Sunni Arab is treated in Iran. Tibi, you are a hypocrit!
66. Thank you for your view MK Tibi. Isn't it wonderful...
Sam   (10.13.10)
to be in a country where freedom of speech and expression, among other freedoms, exist. Isn't Israel wonderful? Isn't it great to be in a government that can be criticized by both ministers and people? Try finding that anywhere else in this region!
67. civil rights?
Nan ,   Eureka CA USA   (10.13.10)
". . .. the Arabs should demand that in any political agreement, the Arabs in the State of Israel would be granted full political and civil equality and be recognized as a national minority within the State of Israel. " Sounds good--and how about the Arabs granting Jews within their states full political and civil equality? Oh wait, the Jews were ethnically cleansed from these places after 1948. So what do the Palestinians want? The benefits if Israeli citizenship--such as health care and income support-- or Palestinian citizenship? From what I have read, Palestinian Arabs of Jerusalem--for example--are coveting the benefits of Israeli citizenship and making sure they reside in Israel proper--no place where they could wind up in a Palestinian state. Sounds to me like Arab status in Israel, while not ideal, is better than what they anticipate they would reap under their own leadership --and what the Jews have in Arab countries-which is nothing--many of those forced to leave having roots going back before Muhammad--since they were chased out--with only the clothes on their back--most winding up in Israel. Advocating for rights for a minority is one thing, but the hypocrisy of the writer is stunning.
68. Dear Salma
Yosef ,   Boca   (10.13.10)
You must be delusional just like Zand. What about all the Hebrew inscriptions in cemeteries dating from before Mohamed's time. What about the wall and temple mount that you are rushing to get rid off all archeological; proofs?
69. Tibi supports Arab participation in the state?
Andrew Brehm   (10.13.10)
Does Tibi's remark that Arabs are underrepresented in the public sector mean that he encourages Israeli Arabs to work for and improve the state of Israel?
70. To: No. 62 and No. 63
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.13.10)
I was born in the United States. I pay taxes (quite a lot) to the United States and to New York State. I would never own a Mercedes, thanks; I like my vintage Jag just fine. I don't think that Israeli politicians who live off the largesse of the Israeli taxpayer should mouth off against the State of Israel. That's all. Trust I have answered your ridiculous diatribe to your satisfaction.
71. Public jobs equality
Raphael ,   Netanya   (10.13.10)
Since most Arabs are draft dodgers, how could they apply for employments requiring a gun license?
72. This article fails to show.....
E ,   United States   (10.13.10)
The Hypocrisy that the arab point of view shows. 1. The only conclusion from this article showing the arab perspective is that there will never be peace. From these guidelines there is no commitment to negotiate and also no incentive for the Israelis to lay down arms. 2. What about the Jews Living in Judea and Samaria. They live there as part of their biblical duties. Will they be allowed to remain in a palestinian state as equal citizens. Having the rights to openly pray and also be protected by the polcicing powers of the state. 3. The arabs never mention the almost a million Jews who were persecuted, robbed, then forced to leave all the arab countries which had Jewish communities well before the arrival of Mohammed. Funny thing is that you don't hear movements for that group to go back to those countries. Why? Because the Jews would be MASSACRED in the streets, as they were in palestine and other Arab majority lands. before the turn of the 20th century and going back hundreds if not a thousand years( Babylon, Rome, Caliphates). 4. Nakba? Enough already, negotiate and get on with life.
73. Show me one Arab nation with Jews living there
laura ,   Jerusalem Israel   (10.13.10)
74. Agree or Disagree
Pchips ,   Vancouver Canada   (10.13.10)
Agree or disagree at least he will not be put in prison for speaking these words. He is free to dis the government and country, as are all Israelis. Try that in Iran.
75. If Only The Jews of Medina ...
Frankie Littlehammer ,   New Herstal, TX, USA   (10.13.10)
If only the Jews of Medina could have had their spokesman publish a column in The Medina Times warning of the coming ethnic cleansing! They would never have been expelled or killed. Ouch - I forgot - when Arabs do the expelling it's not ethnic cleansing. Expelling When Brown.
76. there are other options open to tibi
zionist forever   (10.14.10)
Egypt Jordan Syria Lebanon Saudi Arabia Kuwait Sudan Iraq Qutar Bahrain UAE They are just a fraction of the amount of countries Tibi and any other arab who is not happy in Israel would be more than welcome to go. If the palestinians are unhappy Bush promised that 100,000 could move to the US and I Obama will stick to that if not increase the number.
77. Dear Ahmad Tibi
Jewish Warrior ,   Israel/US   (11.19.10)
Jews are not foreign immigrants, they originated here, and have had a continuous presence for 5,000 years, Arabs 1,300. Genetics prove that 90% of diaspora Jews are genetically linked to the Holy Land. In the sick mind of Ahmad Tibi, Ireland can be an Irish and democratic state, Germany a German and democratic state, Japan a Japanese and democratic state, France a French and democratic state, but only Jews cannot be a democratic state, and must submit to being a minority in a "bi-national state", which will soon have an Arab majority, as it would be ethnic cleansing not even to remove Arabs but simply transfer sovereignty and get them off the Jewish nipple, but it is OK to uproot Jewish communities in the West Bank, some of them built on the sites of former communities tens, hundreds, and sometimes thousands of years old must be uprooted, and "Palestine" must be totally Jew-free. Ahmad Tibi: you do not represent Israel.
