61. Thanks Guy! Turkey must severe ties with NATO Crusader Army
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.04.10)
Nato only serves interest of US and Israeli zionism and Turkey must immediately sever all ties with this Crusaders' Army As for Islamism of Erdogan and his party Erdogan is not ISLAMIST or his party is not pro-islamic party but just exploiting religious feelings to harvest votes from muslim public.
62. #55. Good points, but to the...
Persian CAT   (12.04.10)
village idiots like Bechor, what you are saying is like reciting Soureh Yasin in a donkey's ears - an old Persian proverb that means some people do not have the facilities to understand the truth. The use of the term "regime" instead of "government" referring to the Turkish administration is an excellent example of the author's functional illiteracy. What I have learned from many Israeli right wing commentators is that it does not make any difference how helpful, useful and friendly some people have been to the Jews throughout the history, to this crowd what is important is to what degree you agree and support the Zionista in pursuing occupation, terrorizing the people under their occupation, and last but not least how much you support their Apartheid regime's inhumane policies. That's all. You can remind them of how the Turks and the Iranians have helped the Jews during the last 2000 years until you're blue in the face. What counts is whether you are willing to stand with them by supporting their Apartheid regime, or at least keep quiet about their war crimes. Take your pick, effendi.
63. Turkey is like Iran, uh?..
Dan ,   Sheffield, UK   (12.05.10)
Turkey is like Iran, uh?.. Destroying prejudgement is much more difficult than destroying atom as Einstein says and we can observe at these comments.
64. hillarious feedback, Josef, #29
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (12.05.10)
Brits are among the last people on the planet I'd expect to be criticizing other folk's news sources. British news sources -- especially regarding Israel -- are so warped and twisted by ideology that they are often unintentionally funny.
65. To John / Boulder
Jeff ,   Ann Arbor. MI   (12.05.10)
John. There are many clueless ignorant leftists such as yourself in My town of Ann Arbor. Sad to see so much ignorance on a College town.
66. Did the turkish plane arrive?
Madlen ,   Germany   (12.05.10)
Did the turkish plane to combat the fire arrive in israel and did they help you, as they promised?
67. Turkish help
Lippy ,   Proud Israeli   (12.05.10)
For all those who don't know: Israel sent a full temporary hospital and staff to Turkey in the recent earthquake disaster there.
68. This article is misguided
Dan ,   Los Angeles   (12.05.10)
I don't agree with this assessment of Turkey. I think Turkey needs Israel more than it cares to admit. Turkey and Israel have the same enemies so whether they like it or not the two countries are tied together. How do you explain the aid Turkey recently send Israel during its fires if it hates Israel so much?
69. to madlen
brio ,   belgium   (12.05.10)
You dont need to live in israel to learn if turks sent their plane to israel. It is written on every news site.BY THE WAY YES THEY DID.
70. Turkey should take back "its" territory??
Martin ,   New York   (12.05.10)
Turks belong in Turkey, and in your dreams will you ever gain backnon-Turkish territory "lost" as a results of the Ottoman Empire's demise as a result of Turkish military defeat in World War I.As a matter of fact, Kurds might have a better claim to eastern Turkey for their own national home, which they singularly do not have..
71. Show me proof that Turkey send one plane
Madlen ,   Germany   (12.05.10)
Germany advised the turks to send help to israel, but there is no proof, that they did it. Words are meaningless, did they take action?

Solomon ,   Bklyn   (12.06.10)
You are correct to ask. The second to last paragraph in the article; http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3994790,00.html states that 2 helicopters were sent. I did see a photo of a Turkish plane [ostensibly] in Israel, but now I question whether it was actual or a file photo. It seems, however, that aid was sent, and whether it was a plane or helicopters, I say thank you. But if Erdogan wishes to keep this aid separate from the question of relations between the two countries and "reparations" from Israel, I say Israel should accede to his request...and keep the matters separate. In other words: 'Thank you for your help. In the past, Israel has assisted Turkey in the aftermath of natural disasters (ie earthquake) and stands ready to do so again...but NO "reparations".'

An additional article, albeit with slightly different facts: http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Op-EdContributors/Article.aspx?id=197991 Note the photo of the Turkish airplane with and IDF soldier standing next to it.
74. on #3
joel ,   usa   (12.09.10)
I agree with this analysis, Turkey can turn over "weapons secret" to the enemies since it seems Mr Erdogan is loyal to the terrorists than to NATO!
75. re: #3 on Erdogan
joel ,   usa   (12.17.10)
THE TURKS NEVER CHANGE, OTHERWISE THE EU COULD HAVE BEEN "DECEIVED" TO APPROVED THEM, WITHOUT THE WEST TURKEY WOULD CERTAINLY COLLAPSE, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT; BUT ERDOGAN HAS NO "BRAINS" FOR HIS COUNTRY, HE JUST SIMPLY WANTED TO BE A "DICTATOR' LIKE SADDAM, FOR LIFE!
76. RE: #12
joel ,   usa   (12.17.10)
SOON TURKEY WILL BE EXACTLY LIKE "A TURKEY" GOOD FOR HOLIDAYS, ONLY? BUT OTHER BALKAN STATES ARE MORE RELIABLE & SINCERE THAN THE "TURKEYs" FOR A HOLIDAY!
77. re: #19 MV MARMARA
joel ,   usa   (12.17.10)
common sense would tell you that israel is a sovereign state, as "the turkey" is; so by commons sense you are mandated to defend your territory from foreign aggressors like those from "terrorists"" onboard the MV MARMARA, anyone with a brain of "wisdom" would simply understand it!
78. re: #22
joel ,   usa   (12.17.10)
THE "TURKS" WERE NOT ASKED TO LEAVE PALESTINE, IN HISTORY, THEY WERE "KICKED OUT" HARD AND RAN AWAY, NO WAY THEY COULD COME BACK AND REDEEMED THEIR "FACE", THEY COULDN'T EVEN DEAL WITH THOSE KURDS EFFECTIVELY! ITS A HOLLOW DREAM FROM ERR_DOG_AN?
79. RE: #25 AND THE UK
joel ,   usa   (12.17.10)
the british empire was so vast & powerful and have extended up to the south pacific, but when it started to 'curse" Israel, it "crambled" down to its present state, #25 needs to learn that lesson, with facts!
80. kick turkey out of nato?
taner eren ,   bern,switzerland   (01.27.11)
81. kick turkey out of nato?LOL!
taner eren ,   bern,switzerland   (01.27.11)
who you think you are? mr. wannabe "big boss" , you forgot turkey is one of the founders of nato. your comment is so childish. please go and read a bit,if israel think they can attack us,come and try. we are a nation who fight against 7 countrys at one time and we won!!!come and attack us,we are a number big for you..we are not egpyt, iran or iraq....we produce most of the weapons self . come and try...
82. Turkey has changed!
cotzeem ,   st.martin island   (08.26.11)
It was written into Turkey's constitution that the military was obligated to overthrow gov't leadership if the leaders became too connected to religious/political interests. Religious political parties were prohibited until 15yrs ago. The time to be alarmed was then. Now, it's too late.
