31.  A Jew dressed like an Arab looks like an Arab

32. clarified: both were tied, and she knew her friend was dead
eporue ,   europe   (12.19.10)
haaretz: "I saw that the stab had not penetrated my heart and I played dead. While I lay there I could hear my friend dying. Her breath sounded like bubbles. I waited two minutes, we lay in the corridor. Our hands tied behind our backs and something was covering my mouth. It was terribly hard for me to get up but I managed to go. I saw that we were in a bush area and I did not know then that they had fled. I felt myself getting tired, all I wanted to do was sleep but I knew I could not."
33. Something fishy?!? She tied her own hands behind her back!?!

The Lavon Affair
35. I agree with #23 and #24
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.19.10)
While a murderous attack on innocent women is a Fatah trademark so the accusations are possibly true, we cannot dismiss the possibility that this act was a criminal act nor that the survivor killed the victim. We should wait with calling this a terrorist attack until more evidence comes out.
36. Oh, Israel, when will you be free of these 'people'?
The 11th Man ,   London   (12.19.10)
37. yes, very very fishy...
eporue ,   europe   (12.19.10)
the sequence, her description, her perception... but - bearing in mind, that all the reader has, are fragments of the story... interesting to follow - until the police has sorted it out.
38. @ #25 & 26
Hakim ,   Palestine   (12.19.10)
"The Lavon Affair" Thats why the world cant stand you!!!
39. To Eporue Europe
miri ,   israel   (12.19.10)
What are you trying to prove that you are a moron ? As for Salma, yes your people are savages and that's why the surrounding Arab countries refuse to accept them ! and we have to suffer them !
40. A Study in Psychology
Gabi   (12.19.10)
"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are." Anais Nin These comments bear this out. This is a fresh case of a woman murdered in cold blood. There are numerous variables, some of which we probably don't know about at this point. Yet, we are all judges and jurors, pointing fingers at nothing but shadows for the time being...and enjoying it. I am not criticizing anyone because I am as guilty as the next person. It is just an interesting observation to me.
41. #24 Palestinian
miri ,   israel   (12.19.10)
"There is no excuse for this murder" Do Arabs -Palestinians - need an excuse ? They are instilled with hate of their fellow man at an early age and are raised to believe we are enemies. We are too kind to the people of Gaza and the world does not grasp this fact.
42. Wow, show some respect
Anon ,   Israel   (12.19.10)
Can we not have a discussion about this without throwing harsh and dirty accusations at each other? Whoever is moderating this site should look up the common rules of politeness and implement them. I'm embarrassed to be Israeli. Imagine the poor woman who went through this attack and the family of the lady that died reading all these nasty words. I pray they find comfort in the God of Israel, for they won't find it here!
43. I was wrong!
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.19.10)
I just came back from Israel, where I visited friends. A young lady took me on a tour of Jerusalem. On the way back, she made a wrong turn and when we got closer and closer to Ramallah instead of TA, and it got darker and darker she became highly agitated and looked for a turn-around. Until I read this article, I thought her behavior was amusing and exaggerated. After all, the people going in and out of the stores looked like people not too different from the two of us, which is obviously deceiving. Liraz, my friend, I apologize publicly and thank you for keeping this naive old lady safe.
44. the MEDIA in the USA will IGNORE this
David P. ,   Capitola, CA   (12.19.10)
because it refuses to report the truth
45. This is very horrible, but as many have stated...
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.19.10)
...things just don't add up. I feel that it would be a huge mistake to jump to any conclusions. Things just don't add up at all. I feel bad to say so, but I am very suspicious of the surviving woman, who led the other to this remote place where she was murdered, yet this one survived.
46. #44, suprisingly, this story is being reported on CNN.
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.19.10)
But I do completely understand where you are coming from.
47. Setting the record straight
Laura ,   Israel   (12.19.10)
I personally know Kay,have known her for years. She is an upright women of integrity, known to many as an excellent person and superb tour guide. I do not doubt for a moment her story. They were attacked completely undeservedly. There is nothing fishy about the story. Simply there were details that could not be released until Christine's family were notified. And Kay had just been through a horrible trauma and could barely communicate. Now all you people thinking evil suspicious thoughts, get a grip, get a life. You're all wrong.
48. Let Hillary Take A Walk In Our Woods
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (12.19.10)
Maybe, then, she will know with whom we have to deal.
49. tourist's body
debbie ,   israel   (12.19.10)
Whatever way it happened, sad sad story. Two things are a little strange: One woman was killed, and the other had "superficial wounds." Why did these Arabs, kill one woman and leave the other alive? If they had meant to kill her, I don't believe she would have gotten away with superficial wounds. The other thing, were these women absolutely out of their cotton pickin' minds? Who goes hiking in an isolated area, knowing full well there are unfriendly Arabs wandering around, two women alone, unarmed, in an area where no one could possibly come to their aid. All I can say, is that if this story is above board, the survivor sure had great luck that she was able to moe, and that she ran into this family, before she bled to death. She could have lied there until it was too late. People, stay in populated areas, and don't wander off the beaten path. There are plenty of trails and views, in populated areas. Pure folly to go off hiking alone in deserted areas.
50. #49 Debbie
Laura ,   Israel   (12.19.10)
If you live here, Debbie, you should know better than to make such wild accusations. They were within the Green Line, in an area where families were picnicking. If we can't hike there, where can we hike? And of course there were Arabs in the area - this is Israel and plenty of Arabs live here. Stop blaming the victims.
51. :: Sounds fishy to me
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.19.10)
What do we know... 1) Two woman with no reports of husbands, children, boyfriends. 2) The woman (Wilson) in hospital as admitted to having a knife on her person at the time of the 'attack'. 3) By Wilson's own claim this as an "opportunistic attack" of robbery and murder yet these "two Arab men" brought a large knife as well as enough rope/other to tie up and gag two women. 4) Despite claims that this was a 'terror attack' no Arab terror group has claimed responsibility as they usually do. 5) Despite been stabbed 12 times with a large Wilson apparently sustained no serious injuries or major blood loss. Based on media reports I would speculate that the claim of "two Arab men" is entirely bogus and Wilson committed a 'crime of passion', fabricated a false story, self-inflicted her wounds. I of course could be wrong but let this story run for a few more days and see if Wilson's story holds up.
52. CNN
Udo ,   Lagos,Nigeria   (12.19.10)
Of course cnn and bbc are reporting it as 2men but if it was the other way roundd they would have reported it as 2israeli men.
53. # 50
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.19.10)
I as an Israeli do live here & I would never walk or go hiking in the forests near Beit Shemesh, armed or unarmed, with or without a male escort. There have been far too many violent incidents in that area.
54. #47 Laura
Gabi   (12.19.10)
Since you know her so well, maybe you can clear something up. Every article I've read spells her first name "Kaye," but you spell it "Kay." Which is the correct spelling?
55. She Survived
Hadassah ,   Israel   (12.19.10)
Let me get this right... there would be nothing 'fishy' if Kaye had dies? The woman was stabbed 13 times! Get your minds out of the gutter about 'lovers' quarrel and keep your 'crap' to yourselves. You REALLY don't know the person (yes, I do) and you don't know the area (yes I do) and you do not know all the details ....
56. hikers
Marilyn ,   USA   (12.19.10)
To me it makes total sense. A couple of adventuresome women, wanting to experience the beauty of nature got off the beaten path. It's like don't do it.

59. #49 - more things strange
eporue ,   europe   (12.19.10)
when they "came to kill them", straight away, without much fuss around it... what for were they tied ? and why does she tell us, she pulled out "a small knife - a womens knife" ? is it as in "no, it wasnt mine, mine was different" ? and why not tell, what she did do with her "womens-knife", when the arabs attacked her ? got anyone hurt with it ? and who pls would chose the word "gentleman" for a guy, who murdered their friend just a few hours ago - whatever sensitive he might have removed the chain... and - with what respect, the (hebrew-speaking/jpost) "arab" treated the star-of-david-chain ? much emphasis, she put around this chain.. and did the arabs, who "came to kill" bring only one knife, the bred knife ? only one was stabbing ? and... and... and...

If Hilary walked in the woods, the only danger would be a sudden rain. Her flying monkeys would take care of any attackers.
