The BDS movement is commited to Israel ending its illegal occupation of Palestian land not Israel's destruction We only boycott goods from the settlements.
62. What a surprise!
Avi ,   NYC, US   (01.23.11)
Fr several months I have lived with the wrong notion that the Israeli soldiers have committed murder, as is their habit with defenseless victims. Luckily, Israel found out that no such thing happened, and that allows me to raise my head in pride. And in a more serious tone: If you think that this is the end of the affair, you are wrong. This affair will be settled with the people who committed this atrocity (and I mean the Israeli soldiers and their criminal leaders) are brought to justice. Seeing the smiling chubby Ehud Barak sent to spend some time in a turkish prison... priceless!
63. #55 unpleasant surprise
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.23.11)
You are in for an unpleasant surprise. You will never attack us because you leaders know that we are natural allies. Your targets are the American puppets. If your navy is anywhere but the Persian Gulf, it is to give aid to revolutionaries in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Sure. You’re not anti-Semitic, you’re simply anti-Zionist. We understand you perfectly.

Israel is the one supposedly fighting terror.
66. who of who is the secular there?

the commandos raided the ship during the dawn prayer. Don't you believe that the secular there were the Turks?
67. Viable and Logical Arguments
Arin Resnicke ,   Bakersfield, CA   (01.23.11)
I am totally stunned (although by now I suppose I would be thoroughly numb) by the recklessness and callousness of a great many of these vile comments. The vast majority speak nothing of the article itself and only of their personal hatred of Jews and the Israeli people. If your comments were based upon some belief that you felt the videos we all witnessed worldwide were somehow "doctored", than I could possibly understand a sliver of your position. However, from astrictly non-biased viewpoint as from one who merely values human life, I witnessed individuals boarding a vessel and immediately being attacked(!!!) before they even got their feet on the ships deck. I witnessed a soldier being thrown overboard, etc. From my understanding, and I wasn't there nor do I suspect THAT ANYONE ELSE WRITING IN THIS TALKBACK WAS PRESENT AT THIS EVENT and therefore what right do we have dto make presumptive judgements, I srael had given multpile warnings regarding the upcoming boarding of the Mavi Marmara. I suspect (as I do not know for a fact) that is how the occupants of the vessel were well prepared for the subsequent boarding. My point is, everyone here seems to be very qulified at making rash judgements, harsh statements, explicit insults, and blatant racist remarks. Why not stop for a moment, thoughfully compose your thoughts into a reasonable argument that addresses the issues, and cease from the racial anti-Israel, anti-Turkey, anti-everyone dialogue? Really, is that too much to ask?

this is a one-sided opinion. the jewish-zionists or the zionist-jews are no saints either. they have also committed/commit terrorism before and after 1948 eg. irgun, stern, haganah, the murder on folke bernadotte, in the 19th century the alyjas to palestine of the zionists, theodor herzl-1896-der judenstaat at the cost of the palestinians/arabs,who always lived there. from that time many jewish-zionist or zionist-jewish alyjas have taken place. did they really penetrate canaan/palestine at the cost of the palestinians/arabs for more than a century without negociating to the peoples who lived there already by proposing to them we both want to live here, let us make something beautiful of it and try to live together in peace in the middle east. but unfortunately then the misery began. it is time that also this is investigated by the un/international community. that terrorism from all sides are being investigated neutral, unbiased, objective, impartial, interestless, to treat equal cases equal no matter which person, which group, which people, which country

Every time I think you cannot possibly compose a more stupid comment than the one you posted already, you up and surprise me. Your idiocy evidently knows no bounds. Were you dropped on your head in your infancy? Israel will apologize to Turkey and Erdogan on a cold, snowy day in August, bubbeleh. Countries do not apologize for acting to enforce a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. I realize that you are the furthest thing from the sharpest knife in the woodblock, but what part of "no apology" do you NOT understand? By the way, in case you haven't noticed, Jews wear the mantle of Zionism quite proudly. We built our country. Have you noticed that violence and terror hasn't exactly aided your cause? Duh. Eat your heart out.

"Illegal occupation?" Oh, I beg to differ. Here is a link that will put paid to your claims that Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria, and the settlements, are illegal. http://www.globalpolitician.com/24388-israel-jerusalem Although you would benefit from reading the treatise in its entirety, feel free to skip down to the section titled "Law on Israel's Takeover of 1967 Lands." Read both subparagraph 1 and 2 -- the first examines the issue under Security Council Resolution 242 (and confirms that SCR 242 it is neither binding nor enforceable, as it was issued under Chapter Six of the United Nations Charter, and not Chapter Seven). The second section discusses Acquisition of Non-Sovereign Land in a Defensive War and concludes that international law does not preclude Israel from retaining AND settling Judea and Samaria and, in fact, fully supports Israel’s right to do precisely that.

Sure, just as soon as Iran figures out how to combat the incredible damage and destruction wrought by Stuxnet. Go ahead, bring it on. Stuxnet II, III, IV and V -- and possibly more -- are waiting in the wings. Did you know that January 18th marked the two-month anniversary since Israel's little Stuxnet gem shut down Natanz and Bushehr? Sweet, isn't it? I think so.
73. #61 Not too swift, Sue
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.23.11)
The settlements employ Palestinian workers and offer them a viable labor market. You want to boycott settlements and prefer to see Palestinians on welfare just to feel that warm fuzzy sense of revenge. Does your BDS movement also boycott Palestinians for firing kassams and bombs at Israel? This certainly hampers the peace process. Wouldn't you agree? Further, the settlements are not built on Palestinian land.
74. #7 Mistakes, don't you mean murder
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (01.23.11)
If an IDF soldier makes a 'mistake' when it deals with Palestinians it means the death of a human being. I know that the Zionists like to overlook this aspect, but Palestinians are human beings. They actually breathe, feel pain and die the same way that Jews/Christians and even other Muslims do. I know that the Zionists and the right wing racists will carry on with their cacophony of justification, but the IDF murdered unarmed activists who wanted to help the people of Gaza. That is against International law and it is morally reprehensible.

76. Hi Ben Jabo #68
Jeff, Ex-Marine ,   San Diego, US   (01.24.11)
Hi Ben Jabo, The peace activists were on a humanitarian mission to Gaza and were attacked in international waters. Anyone who dabbles in common sense would conclude this was naked aggression on part of the Israelis. There is overwhelming testimony from those on onboard the ship that the Israeli army provoked the violence. Unfortunately, all the evidence proving Israel's guilt has been confiscated by.....wait for it....Israel. This inquiry was a merely theatrical production intended to highlight Israel's 'democratic' credentials. No one seriously believed the inquiry would produce anything but this conclusion. Bringing the soldiers to justice was out of the question. The families of the victims, like so many others, will never experience a sense of closure. I wonder if your hatred of Palestinians stems from personal loss or ingrained after years of indoctrination. Either way, I hope you find the will to let go. Shalom my friend Jeff
77. 74- "Unarmed activists?"
Stephen in New York   (01.24.11)
Who do you think you fool with such rank BS? Your "unarmed activists" were "armed militants" and their attacks with metal rods and other makeshift weapons were caught on film . Your lies will not obscure the truth.
78. Jeff - Our fake ex-Marine
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.24.11)
You still haven't produced your credential or MOS So let's just say that I take your post with at least a kilo of salt That boatload consisted of special group that had boarded separately, with the intention of resisting a lawful inspection I don't hate Arabs, they are who they are, I do resent fakers like yourself who misrepresent themselves as having been Marines I'm not your friend, I hate frauds

Well said Grazcek, the report insults everybody with intelligence. This should exclude you Graczek, since you have none. My dogs are more intelligent then you.
81. Another American, Leon Ottowa
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (01.24.11)
That makes two of you. Actually three, if you add in Leon of Ottawa. Like America and yourself, he also avoids inconvenient truths. I suggest you read and watch YouTube with your eyes open. Also don't ignore it when a PA official 'slips' and admits the Isrealis were right (eg terrorists killed in Cast Lead, no "Jenin massacre", etc)

Solomon ,   Bklyn   (01.24.11)
Thank you for shining a light into the darkness. You are a refreshing voice of sanity. But when emotions take over, it is difficult to keep civility in mind. Mea culpa.

Solomon ,   Bklyn   (01.24.11)
Read the article 'Armed Mob Lynched Us' on ynet. After you READ it, please enlighten us as to why you feel the thugs were defenseless. Also advise the IDF as to why it is illegal to enforce a blockade in this way (multiple warnings, offer to bring cargo to Gaza, etc.) even though international law as expounded by those more knowledgable in this than you or I, agree that it is legal to enforce a blockade in this way. Thank you.
84. #76 Jeff Ex Marine
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (01.24.11)
1. You are right! No one, except those assiduously avoiding the truth, seriously believed the inquiry would produce anything but this conclusion given the films on YouTube and the UK Panorama report , including testimonies by the crew of the ship and the preparation, intent and behavior of the thugs. 2. It is LEGAL to enforce a blockade in international waters. Or are you assiduously avoiding the truth? 3. The 'humanitarian mission' consisted partially of outdated medical supplies. True humanitarians would have let the IDF offload and deliver it as offered. But even the people aboard ship stated that their purpose was really to break the blockade. Or are you assiduously avoiding the truth again?
85. #69 payer
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (01.24.11)
You are only partially correct; a very small part of partially. Irgun and Stern were like that, Haganah was not and condemned Irgun and Stern for it. (Which Arab countries condemn shaheeds?). When the first large influx of additional Jews occurred in modern times (late 1800's; there were always Jews there, even before this) they bought land at exhorbitant prices, cleared it, planted it, and in general improved the economy. It was then (early 1900's) that the first large influx of Arabs occurred, those you call "Palestinians", due to the better economic situation. The Jews dressed as Arabs and began to learn Arabic so as to coexist with the Arabs. They were "proposing to them we both want to live here, let us make something beautiful of it and try to live together in peace" Some Arabs said ok, most said no and answered further with murder, etc. Bring this to the international community, please, but be careful what you wish for.

The Iranian Navy will last about 10 seconds in real combat. Something they have never seen but mess with us and that is what will happen.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.24.11)
Well, let's see. Centrifuges spinning out of control at Natanz. A giant turbine that blew itself to bits at Bushehr. Nothing imaginary about that, sweetie. Nothing imaginary at all. If it's imaginary that you are looking for, you need look no further than Iran's imaginary second-generation and third-generation centrifuges that rival anything in the West. You need also look no further than Iran's imaginary missile defense system, reverse-engineered from the Soviet system in a matter of weeks. Oh, and let's not forget Iran's imaginary fusion reactor! I seem to recall (quite vividly, actually) the arms-laden ship, destined for Hamas and Hezbollah, that didn't even clear Bandar Abbas before the Israelis blew it up. Let us not forget the Iranian arms convoy that Israel destroyed in the Sudan. Neither should we forget the two -- count 'em -- two -- vessels carrying arms for Hamas and Hezbollah that were interdicted in the Med. Honey, you are so out of touch with reality, it isn't funny. Iran cannot even test operate its command and control structures, because they, too, have been infected by Israel's little Stuxnet. Nothing imaginary about that, bubbeleh. Face it -- Israel has kicked your ass to the curb. What you need to do is sit down, shut up and be quietly grateful that Israel hasn't launched any cruise missiles. Really grateful. Israel owns your sorry Iranian ass. Deal with it. Tee hee.
88. Erdogan must apologize for having sent terrorists to Israel
Daniela   (01.24.11)
turkish wanted to enter gaza, against the blockade, of course israelis stopped them, what the turkish tried to do was illegal. turkish are guilty and in charge of what happened to their people, many of them, by the way, said in a video (on the way to Israel) were ready to die as martyrs, tipical attitude of the muslims, they caused the attack and now they are asking Israel to apologize. Incredible! Tell me, who wants and who needs a friend like Turkey? Not Israel, but of course its enemies!
89. then why you still scared if you did all those

If you are going to criticize my words please write in a coherent fashion. I hope that English is not your first language. What exactly are your criticizing? I did not say anything about Cast Lead or Jenin.
