1. Palestinian state .So what ?Israel has
DT ,   Vietnam   (04.13.11)
to learn to find a little courage and to say "No" and treat those who advocate a Palestinian state with the contempt they deserve and once another terrorsit state is established to destroy it . Israel has failed to do what needs to be done in Gaza so maybe they will realise their stupidity.
2. us.
self-ruling citizen ,   world/planet earth   (04.13.11)
i feel "pity" for the us. "poor" us. the rest of the world is not dependant of the us, but the us cannot be an autarkic state, needs the rest of the world to survive, not to go bankrupt. let us keep it niece!
3. The Jig is Up
Steve Benassi Silver ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.13.11)
Jews are not special, a crime is a crime.
4. Palestine
Joe ,   Soddy Daisy   (04.13.11)
Even though the Palestinian Authority gives the death penalty to a Palestinian who sells land to Jews, the fulfillment of end time Bible prophecy will not be stopped. The Palestinian Authority has, for years, implemented the death penalty on Palestinians that have sold land or even been involved in an arrangement to sell land to the Jewish people. One of the Muslim judges involved with the Palestinian Authority has issued another warning and a reminder to the Palestinian people that Islamic law forbids the sale of property to Jews by Muslim people. This report brings to mind several issues that have a connection to end time Bible prophecy. The Palestinian Authority, the governing body of the Palestinian people, has no authority to issue a death penalty but past experience show they can back up their warning and a number of Palestinians have been executed for selling property to Jews - evidence that the Palestinians, Edomites of history, all descendents of Esau, hate Jews (Genesis 27:40-41). As it relates to the land that might be bought or sold - the land is God's land (Leviticus 25:23) and He has promised it to the Jewish people and those promises are contained within the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 15:18), the Land Covenant (Deuteronomy 30:1-9), and the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:17). In the future, land owned by the Palestinians will not be sold to the Jews but instead given to them by God. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
5. "Redeployment"
Chatich   (04.13.11)
A euphemism for retreat and surrender, will only bring more terror attacks like Itamar and Kiryat Arba. Bibi, remember your mandate!
6. bozo still dreaming...
eporue ,   europe   (04.13.11)
...while the audience has left the tent already... its so tiresome... NO, WITHDRAWAL OF SETTLERS, then the IDF...
7. the world just dont get it.!!!!!!
Robert ,   Farmington,usa   (04.13.11)
its not the worlds land to give away , or to pressure israel into giving up their land promised to them , the world is lost. the only thing this is going to do is bring great pain to the world dividing the lords land is not smart.
8. Tick Tock...Tick Tock... Palestine is coming!
Raed ,   Palestine   (04.13.11)
Palestine will soon be born same way Israel was in 48 by the same UN that made it possible. As long as the PA leadership stays on the course of achieving their aspirations via movements non-violence all our legitimate demands for freedom and self determination will be realized. Had we chosen this path after 67 a free Palestine would have long been born. When this is achieved by the PA Fayad and Abass will become national Heroes. That achievement in itself will topple Hamas and their oppressive government in Gaza. The mentality of achieving freedom through violence and murder will finally be proven as an utter failure which only helped Israel continue to oppress our people.
9. Why do I don't believe
Yossef   (04.13.11)
in a unilateral declaration of state ? May be because we will not want to withdraw to the pre 67 borders ? Because this will be the beginning of another war with arab countries ? Because we will not give up the Jordanian border ? Because suddenly we will have millions of arab/palestinians coming from all over the world at our doors, willing to throw us all kind of "projectiles". Well, well... nice future in perspective. Prepare yourself for the morse, I'm not optimistic.
10. Obama Wants A Palestinian State
Armchair General ,   Wisconsin, USA   (04.13.11)
Hard for the USA to stand alone at the UN. Gee, thanks for nothing. Even those who want negotiations know it's the Palestinian Arabs who won't negotiate. Why should they? This is a wake up call to world Jewry. We are alone again. There are genocidal intentions against us(Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas to name three). It's time for the universalist Jew, the bleeding heart Jew, the Jew who fights for everyone else's cause, who donates money and signs petitions for others, to fight for Israel. This is particularly true for America's Reform Jews and their tikkun olam, their repair or save the world doctrine. Conservative Jews are turning in this direction also. It's time to focus specifically on standing up for Israel, saving Israel, doing what must be done politically, financially, and in every other way.
11. A peace plan won't change anything
Frank ,   Canada   (04.13.11)
Arabs don't want peace, they want a state and the continuation of the war with Israel.
12. Unfeasible
Hmm. ,   Chicago   (04.13.11)
Unilateral Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank is simply unfeasible, and Israel needs to make that perfectly clear from the outset.
13. A State will get recognized then in comes Livni
TJ ,   SA/USA   (04.13.11)
The Palestinians will get their wish this Septemeber and get a UN vote on a state then in 2012 Tzipi Livni will win elections and carry out the two state solution.
14. Comrade Obama is very very bad
Thore ,   Earth   (04.13.11)
Fake Pals get Jewish land and gives nothing. Just as Obama wishes.
15. Can anyone tell me if unilateral declaration
Israeli 2   (04.13.11)
is new? Has it been attempted before? If not, why not? Why now? I am truly confused. Can they just simply do that without Israel's approval? What are thechances that this will happen?
16. Expect Arab mortars, missiles, & knives
Steven ,   San Francisco   (04.13.11)
Whichever of the cowardly Israeli government surrender plans is chosen, whether Surrender Plan A, B or C, all that will be received in return is more international opprobrium, and of course plenty of Arab missiles, mortars and stabbings.
17. Ever hear of veto power?
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.13.11)
18. "hard" for US to stand alone? Some leader.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.13.11)
The point of leadership is to, well, lead - not to go along with a flawed consensus because it's too hard. Then again, it's hard to believe one *should* be leading if one believes the US is just another country which has so much to apologize for.
19. Palestine will be recognized because of the settler push.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.13.11)
20. The consequences!
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (04.13.11)
The UN, the EU, the U.S. are blackmailing Israel. They want to take away from the jewish people our holy sites, Jerusalem, push Israel behind indefensible borders in exchange of hypocritical promises about Israel's security. If G-d forbid it happens Israel will face a similar situation as in 1973; total destruction of its enemies or surrender for them! G-d Bless Israel!
21. Two inevitabilities
graczek Maryland, US ,   Maryland, USA   (04.13.11)
Two inevitabilities: The first is that the UN will create the State of Palestine via the General Assembly if not the Security Council, under the United For Peace provision. The second is that the State of Palestine soon will encompass all of former British Mandatory Palestine, and Zionism will deservedly be cast into the dustbin of history.
22. Deterrance
John cone ,   USA   (04.13.11)
The israel pm would be extreamely stupid to give the pa more concessions. He would be a laughing stock. Why would we give them a pize such as a unilateral withdrawal why not give up tel aviv while he is at it. Israel should threaten to annex area b and c.
23. American Pressure?
Steven ,   L.A. USA   (04.13.11)
I cannot believe how ignorant of American politics some of your correspondents are. Here in the U.S. we are already smack in the middle of a presidential election with the first primaries being held in January, just four months after the so called deadline on a Palestinian State. There is absolutely no way any presidential candidate, especially one like Barak Obama, up for reelection, will vote to support a pro palestinian or anti Israeli resolution. It just won't happen. Israel doesn't have to worry about real American pressure until sometime after January 2013 at the soonest.
24. US holds veto in Securturity Council
Ron ,   USA   (04.13.11)
Abas has no contol of Gaza and very little elsewhere. Abas holds office illegally and t does not permit past due elections as he knows he will lose. US Congress and US opinion is not with Obama in this. Israel must hold firm
25. No big deal-the UN can move out of USA
Brod ,   USA   (04.13.11)
The UN should stop pushing the crap of the dark forces. They better learn to respect America and its Congress. They better learn to understand that America is NOT their servant. If they don't like it, America can tell them to move to a poor Third World country like Timbuktu. Congress can tell the UN to shut up and stop crusading Jihadism and its agenda all over the world.
26. Entire Arab world is in turmoil, nuclear holocaust in Japan
Tahl   (04.13.11)
Dozens get killed daily in Iraq, Iran makes a mockery of IAEA resolutions and speeds up its efforts for nukes, anti-government protesters are shot in cold blood in Lybia, Syria and Iran, total chaos in the Ivory Coast, Hamas shoots rockets on Israeli schoolbuses... And all the UN is concerned about is condemning Israel and creating a Palestinian state? Methinks there is a little measure of hypocrisy here.
27. Israel's living in a dream-world
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (04.13.11)
The General Assembly will endorse a Palestinian state this year; the Security Council will do it next year or the year after that. One by one individual countries have been doing it and will continue doing it. Of course, I'm sure they're all doing it out of their rabid innate anti-Semitism *groan* This time around Israel is 100% responsible for the collapse of last summer's negotiations due to Netanyahu's idiotic decision to allow settlement expansion just as the talks were underway. That has not been forgotten!! Give it a year, give it five years. Israel will become increasingly isolated. Our behavior is simply wrong and the status quo is untenable. Booby and his administration will have to make a decision: Negotiate a solution or retain Israel on what will soon become an irreversible path of ultimate destruction. Sophistry, semantics, obfuscation and chicanery will not continue to be the way out of making far-reaching executive decisions for much longer.
28. The Jewish State of America and their European Marionettes
Alex   (04.13.11)
Looks like the Jews not only control the American agenda, but that of their European marionettes. Everyone knows the peace process is a charade masquerading as unconditional support for the Israeli occupation and settlement enterprise, but now the Europeans have withdrawn their peace initiative at the behest of the Americans, then that shows just how pervasive the influence of World Jewry has on International Politics.
29. Todays Jerusalem Post and this article
john ,   cardiff   (04.13.11)
Both articles offers entirely different strategies. Why to wonder? USA is always with Israel or Netanyhu and it will not an iota of difference if the whole World recognise a Palestinian state. It is not what the Goem says- it is what the Jews do according to a famous Israeli politician.
30. Stop calling them 1967 borders
Aaron ,   San Diego, CA   (04.13.11)
This plays right into other sides's hands. They are armistice lines. Lines of disengagement from 1949. Nothing more. Fading lines from over 40 years ago. The Israeli's are so bad at PR, and now the Arabs, by their simple refusal to come to the table since they have convinced every one these are real "borders," have unilaterally gotten everything they wanted. As for standing up to the General Assembly, so what? Mr. Obama states he is committed to a negotiated solution. Anything less is caving to unilateral declarations. We can hope he will stand on principle, as he did with the legality of settlements vote.
