For decades, Israel's left showcased Israel's "peace treay" with Egypt as a great land-for-peace success. Had we kept the Sinai, there would be practicallly no chance of another war with Egypt. If it did occur, Israel would win with ease. The Sinai is a huge military and strategic asset. Moreover, the Sinai would give Israel energy independence and vast tourist wealth. All Israel got for the SInai, as late Egyptian President Sadat admitted was "a piece of paper". Today Egypt is ripping up the worthless piece of paper.
