i don't see how they can 'defend' anything...
32.  collapse of trust between "the occupying nation and its arm
William ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
Again, Arabs mis-read the obvious. Israelis don't distrust the army leadership. Infact, they support 100% the IDF. What the naiton dis-trusts is the political leadership which tied the hands of the IDF. That's why they're gone, and we now have Bibi and Lieberman. Did we as a nation learn from the Army Leaders? Of course, that's why we're so much stronger than in 2006 where Nasrallah's mind apparently is stuck. If the loss was that bad, Nasrallah, you wouldn't have apologized and the border wouldn't have been quiet for 5 years.
33. Article comes from Associated Press
William ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
not surprising that they left out a little, but very important, tidbit.... namely, Lebanon submitted a border map with Cyprus to the UN, of which Israel used to demarcate its own maritime borders. It was only after that point that Lebanon submitted a new map contradicting its own map to the UN and its agreement with Cyprus.
34. #4 - nasrallah wasn't in lebanon during the war
William ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
He was the first one to flee. First to Syria, then to Iran, for the duration of the war. Rumor has it he wore a woman's dress to make his escape.
35. Listen Ratie ! No one can hear you
(07.27.11)
and no one really wants to listen to your rants because: 1. You keep on hiding in your rat hole 2. Your threats are outright pathetic. 3. You do not represent Lebanon, you only abuse Lebanon and do exactly as Iran tells you to do. 4. Israel worked hard and spent a lot of thinking ,technology and energy to find, drill and exploit these huge gas fields. 5. These fields ARE NOT IN LEBANON WATERS AND THEY DO NOT BELONG TO LEBANON, LET ALONE TERRORIST HEZBALLAH. 6. Your threats will never do a single dent to Israel ! So, keep on threatening and, who knows, you will choke on your words.

38. His ugliness, allah's gift to the arabs, nasrallah
carlos   (07.27.11)
Again, the fat pig of Lebanon is " oink! oink ! " his message to his desperados, to Israel, to the world. The tone hasn't changed, the same old "refrain" gained additional mileage and, like sows, his dribbling comments are in need of clarification. "Mon conseil", a bib and a diaper would help somewhat. The only advice I have for the Lebanese people is, if you want to thrive and inhale some fresh air, you must get rid of him and sanitize his pigsty. When the arabian winds blow in our direction, we are subjected to a whiff of putrid air, his lair
39. Nassralla want to divert attention to help his friend Assad
dovdevan ,   ashdod,paris   (07.27.11)
who will fall very soon ! yesterday a bomb expoded near the french UN peace keeping force in the south lebanese town of Saida ! this is their tactic when they are in big trouble they try to divert attention from what happen in their country by attacking Israel !!

Is that your new policy now? 'You snooze, we steal'. Too bad for you that what you did to the Palestinians will not work with Hezbollah...
41. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
You are babbling, oh grandiose one. Take it easy with the parenthetics, too. It just adds to your natural incoherence. I suggest you research the law on mineral finds in the sea, which closely parallels salvage law, and take it from there. Lawyer? Public prosecutor? Verdict? Get a grip.
42. Who died and left Fatso in charge?

Judge Haddad, the juridic resolution will depend on who was the driving force for the exploration and where the discovery was made. In both cases, the answer is Israel. How far the field extends is irrelevant under the law. The United States, for example, was responsible for exploration, and subsequent discovery, of oil in the Gulf of Mexico. A good portion of that oil reaches into Mexican territorial waters, but the United States doesn't share. When Guatemala and Belize attempted to secure a share of that lucrative oil, the United States told them both to take a hike; the international court in the Hague upheld the position of the United States. Similarly, when vast petroleum stores were discovered off the coast of Brunei, both Malaysia and Indonesia attempted to secure some of that vast wealth, to no avail. Laws on maritime exploration and discovery are very, very clear, Judge. Israel was more than willing to reach an agreement with Cyprus, but Cyprus has never gone to war against Israel, Cyprus recognizes the State of Israel and enjoys excellent trade relations with the State of Israel. The same does not hold true for Lebanon, which has been in a declared state of war against Israel since 1948; neither does Lebanon recognize the State of Israel, this despite the fact that Israel rescued Lebanon's Christians from extinction in 1982. Too bad for Lebanon. Once again, Israel's enemies have done far more harm to themselves than to Israel. The natural gas fields belong to Israel. Period. Full stop. Lebanon is just going to sit on the sidelines and watch in green-eyed jealousy.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
The exploration was conducted, and the natural gas fields found, just off the coast of Haifa. The last I checked, Haifa is in Israel. But under international law, it wouldn't matter. Mineral wealth discovered under the sea belongs to the country that is responsible for the exploration and discovery. That would be Israel. As to Hezbollah -- easy to talk tough when you live in a bunker thirty feet underground. Shades of the last days of the Third Reich .....

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
Oh, stop with your silly platitudes. Are you aware that Israel and Cyprus have reached an agreement with respect to sharing the natural gas? Of course, the problem is that Lebanon has been in a declared state of war with Israel since 1948, and Lebanon does not recognize the State of Israel. So, since maritime law dictates that the natural gas find belongs to Israel -- and only Israel -- it is entirely up to Israel whether it enters into a sharing agreement or not. Israel is not going to allow Lebanon to profit from Israel's exploration and discovery as long as Lebanon refuses to recognize the State of Israel. Israel is not going to allow a government which includes an enemy sworn to the destruction of the State of Israel (Hezbollah) to profit from Israel's exploration and discovery. It does not matter how far the fields extend; they were discovered off the coast of Haifa and, as such, under international law belong exclusively to Israel. I'm sorry you hate lawyers. In my experience, people love to hate lawyers -- until they need one. Do keep that in mind.

48. #8. William - I largely agree but...
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.27.11)
The biggest losers by far are yet again..the Lebanese and Lebanon Not only have Hezbollah taken away half of Lebanon but they are now on the verge of signing away Lebanons resources to the Sewer Rat Nasrallah and his monkey friend Ahmadinejad (I know thats an insult to monkeys - so sorry monkeys!) Yet despite being quiet in Lebanon on the surface it masks a huge underlying hatred resentment anger thats stoking pressure day by day in the pressure cooker that is Lebanon Its clear to everyone in Lebanon that in any war with Israel more and more Lebanese of all pursuasions who are sick of Hezbollah arrogance and bullying will use this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to help get rid of Hezbollah once and for all by divulging each and every missile dump firing and command and control location to Twitter. There are even groups who are prepared to sabotage these areas from within And it will only take just one spark....
49. OR WHAT?!!
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.27.11)
One rocket and we burn your entire country to the ground... dumb muslim arabs!! BRING IT ON AND DIE!!!!
50. #46, Silly platitudes are strictly yours, trite, nonsensical
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.27.11)
Have you said anything new in the past 50 years? Let it be gas under the sea, or anything else, you say nothing new, nothing creative. The fact is, the wealth that comes from dinosaurs should serve everybody. Now that would be thinking outside the box, wouldn't it. The first step is to find a way to peace with Lebanon. The Lebanese Christians have been ready for peace with Israel for a very long time.
51. Arrogance is sign of weakness
Yerushalmi ,   Jerusalem   (07.27.11)
He is actually rather weak, after hezzies have been seen frequently helping Assad put down protests in Syria, Hariri probe, etc... It is to be expected he would try to start a war, to divert attention from big doodoo his bosses in Tehran and Damascus, and his organization, are in. They lost support, and are seen for what they are, armed thugs, henchmen for two of the worst dictators in ME. If any of those regimes falls, hezzies are history and he knows it.

54. To: No. 47
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
I'm sorry, dear, but the Black Sea is entirely irrelevant to this issue, as it is an inland sea. The natural gas fields discovered by Israel are in the Mediterranean Sea, which is NOT an inland sea. Under international law, there's quite a bit of difference.
55. What is this guy 5 years old?
