hope the amendment to the legislation backs up the media declaration. For example: 1) Does it still allow some small town magistrate to issue arrest warrants, subject to the DPP assenting after the fact; or, does it have to go to the DPP first, before applying for such a warrant? Does the law state that all requests for warrants involving Universal Jurisdiction must go directly to the DPP, no ifs, buts, maybes, or "Under the circumstances..."? 2) Gould said: "...realistic CHANCE for prosecution..." Does this mean "chance" or "requirement"? The question is: where does the political element come into play, & where does the direct prohibition of issuing such vexatious warrants begin? 3) Can the object of such attacks easily recover costs & countersue for harassment, intimidation, etc? 4) Can the "lawfare" types appeal to Interpol, the IJC, ICC, etc, & will the UK accept such warrants,or will the UK decline enforcement & prosecution, based on its own law & jurisdiction? All highly political backroom stuff, but the devil is always in the detail, especially in legal language. Nevertheless, certainly better than the current situation.
