Christianity is based on the Bible - Old and New Testament. Jesus never abolished the Old Testament but showed its true meaning. Old Testament promises (to Israel) are valid even today - actually forever. Obama has received in his youth biase Bible teaching - evidently he doesn't have the habit of personal Bible study. The author of this propaganda piece must have owed someone in the Obama administration a favor big time. Obama has been the most difficult US President for Israel to deal with in the past 60 years. He is not a friend and anyone who says so is either lying or has no understanding of the situation.

The position of Israel has seriously deteriorated during the time of the Obama presidency. He set the tone with his making the 'settlement issue' the focus of negotiations, his one- sided blaming of Israel for no progress in the negotiations. He has it is true made Israel more dependent on the U.S. than ever before. He has simply undermined Israel's position and made it worse.

A previous poster from New Jersey, USA uses a lot of self-selected recent history to make Obama look like a friend to Israel. The fact is, while he gives financial aid (increased for inflation), this is because of the overwhelming opposition he'd face if he tried to take action in Congress to cut or decrease support. Plus, such an action might generate scary *opinion* as we discover who Obama actually is. Spooky. So like a man trying gamely to play both sides of the fence, he 'gives' aid because Congress calls for it and history calls for it. Yet, in public, Obama is the only president the US has ever had, who is willing to make comments pointedly embarrassing/humiliating the Israeli government on a US political stage. His object, it seems to me, is to hand over a check which the US demands he hand over, while being a petulant insulter *as* he hands it over so that he can send some kind of personal message. For the record, Israel is not with the United States for aid money - they can exist without us because they actually have industry and a brain trust there (unlike all other Middle East economies - despots control the money-generating natural resources the other countries possess) - they are with the US because we have been historic allies and a friend to the Jews (please see recent history (WWII) and Middle Eastern ancient history). This man, Obama, is the worst president we have had since Jimmy Carter in this regard. He appears to have no actual clue how Middle Eastern people think or actually see us. He is Harvard - Cambridge, MA. He is elite Democratic society. He gets 'reports' from subordinates, but appears to hold tightly his own opinions which have been obtained through a seemingly narrow world view. History tells us that any concession made to Middle Eastern terrorists results in more terrorism, because they see it as showing weakness - not 'negotiating'. They have a 'mandate'... and are now seeing a way to use 'diplomacy' against Israel to destroy her, ultimately. If Obama is pro-Palestine in his personal views, that's fine. I only wish he [Obama] had the courage and audacity to say all of this to the world. It would be better and more admirable than the current modus operandus of both publicly insulting *and* grudgingly supporting Israel. To me, this is not 'tough love', as New Yorker generously describes it, it's riding the fence and trying to appease all sides while publicly slapping the side that isn't personally preferred. That is the what this man does on a world stage and it's embarrassing. At best, let's hope Obama's actions ringing hollow to the talking heads on either side of the debate... At worst, he could be sending a clear message to the PA and Hamas that he will be partially blind to whatever they do to Israeli civilians in their quest for their stated goals. In the end, Obama is like Bill Clinton - standing for nothing and trying to appear 'tough' to both sides. He fails and he does it with a lot less style and panache.
