This is the prime reason why there should be no Palestinian state, it's lack of recognition of Israel's legitimacy. If this state is formed, the US and Israel (and any other civilized nation) should return the favor and not recognize a Palestine.

How is this position fundamentally different from 1948? There has never been any movement from that side, and the whole "peace process" was/is/and ever will be nothing but a sham. It's time that the West understands that Abbas and his ilk have no intention of changing their position, and they never have. They have said the same thing, and they have not moved an inch. There is no "negotiation" going on here, and all meetings with them have been one exercize in bad faith after another on their part. The US should expedite a vote in the Security Council so we can see where France and the UK stand; and after that to veto this as quickly and definitively as possible.
