Many would be glad if the Pals renounced agreements made with Israel under Oslo etc. But would such a move be detrimental to Israel? For one, Israel would have to resume responsibility for administring the territories. The Palestinians would begin a nihilistic campaign of civil disobedience. Israel would be subjected to harsh criticism from everywhere, and the Palestinians would become even greater objects of sympathy. Israel would still be bound by UN Security Council Resolutions. Renunciation of Oslo might further advance the possibility of a binational state.
