31. Exactly !!
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (06.14.12)
Homeland - Country of origin. It started as a promise, like it or not, but it's true and here we are in 2012 and Israel is alive and well. Because one may not believe that fact, it doesn't change the fact that Israel is EXACTLY where it is and named what it is. No one, and I mean no one will ever change that fact, whether they are believers or not. Israel is here to stay. It IS, and will ALWAYS be, the HOMELAND of the Israelite's.
32. Jewish state with Jewish law and Jewish people
yoni the Jew ,   Jewish Homeland   (06.14.12)
Anyone who hasnt learned what Judaism is will have a hard time defining it like Benny Begin. We are here in Israel because we want a Jewish state with Jewish people and Jewish Law. Anyone else who wants so called "democracy" can move to a non Jewish country and shut up
33. 15 Jake Not all Jews live in Israel..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.14.12)
many Jews have other nationalities.
34. 16 Jake,you are right.

ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.14.12)

I am by no means a scholar but i do read bible, talmud and midrashim. What are you talking about? Do you want to tell me which midrash specifically you are refering to and i will go learn it.
37. #27 Keren, We'll stay cool, freaks won't bother us.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.14.12)
Of course there are Palestinians and almost two million of them carry the Israeli passport. This makes them Israelis on a par with every other citizen. They are Am Israel, like us, but culturally they are different from us (our histories are different.) Israel is a multicultural state, like many other states, like Switzerland or the United States and Brazil. Israel is also multi-religious state with Jewish religion as one of those, and atheists like me are different from religious Jews. A constitution will sort it all out.

Moshe   (06.14.12)
I must admit i have never heard of 'might is right' and i don't think i believe that might is right. We are right to live in Israel because it is our land. The germans aren't right to kill my family just because they were mightier. Just my personal belief

Albert   (06.14.12)
What exactly is your right to have an opinion sitting in California? As a matter of fact what is your right to sit in California? Did you serve in the U.S army or did you just boot the previous owner out of his home because might is right.
40. #33 You are mixing nationality with citizenship

olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (06.15.12)
one side importing all kind of foreign people/foreign idologies and using the media in order to destroy the jewish spirit . But in the end the Jewish people will win. This for sure.
44. #39 Albert, Ever heard how many Israelis live in California?
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.15.12)
We could fill up here a city the size of Natanya if not Tel Aviv. In Los Angeles you hear Hebrew as often as in Tahana Merkazit Hahadasha. Do I have a right to sit in California? Of course I do since I pay taxes, obey the laws, carry a passport. In Israel I had this right also for the same reasons and more since I did my IDF service. How about you Albert, do you know what IDF stands for?
45. Believing in a god who allowed the murder
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.15.12)
of six million of our brethren . As someone said , sane persons can't be brainwashed with religion .

48. Moshe , So it are , mostly , non Jews
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.15.12)

49. Democracy, Justice and Equality
Fetzl ,   Tel Aviv   (06.15.12)
For Jews, all the rest of the people can go f*ck them selfs! Lets have a nice clean ethnic jewish state, every new building has to be either a menora or a magen David. There have to be more Synagogues, at least every 5 meters, instead of 10m. Kippot duty for everyone. But you know what, lets just tear this city down, its not jewish anyway so its not supposed to be in a jewish state. like arabs, and tourists, and everyone else. jewish yeah!
50. #49, Very telling post
Jake   (06.15.12)
Any surprise that TA is so hated by the rest of IL?
51. 45
zionist forever   (06.15.12)
The murder of 6 Million Jews was an act committed by men not God. The idea that men are made in God's image doesn't mean God has two arms and two legs it means men have free will and individuals are judged on their actions and that gives them the capability to murder if they chose to. Religion is a contract between individual and God. You obey the laws and you may be rewarded for it but you break the laws you will be punished, there is no rule book to say what punishment you get for what crime. You cannot judge faith based on your own moral issues. Other than the fact the Holocaust was committed by men rather than it being a divine act whilst you think it was a bad thing in a global population of 7 billion I am sure there are plenty out there who think it was good so you don't share moral values with everybody on the planet and so you cannot hold everybody to your own standard.
52. 51 , who said that god murdered ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.15.12)
I said "ALLOWED" Religious always say that god loves and protects his people . We did'nt see this "protection" nor this "love" . We have seen how many who obeyed the Tora laws were "rewarded" : Auschwitz , babi yar to name only two .
53. for Almighty, allowed means made
observer ,   Egypt   (06.16.12)
54. @ Charles
(06.16.12)
Did Jews lose faith in G-d after the Spanish Inquisition? If they did, perhaps there would be no Jews for the Germans to go after in WW2. Between the ultra-"religious" and the ultra-atheists you really are left wondering if any Jews still exist.

End of post modern Zionism and religion to garbage. It's 21st century !!!
57. to #9 Ora
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (06.16.12)
it could easily have been the descendents of the Phoenicians who chose to re-introduce Hebrew, they spoke it also! Let's decide that Israel is the homeland of all Hebrew speaking people. At least we all agree on what Hebrew is. Most national borders run along language lines.
58. #56
(06.16.12)
People have been singing your tune long before you started to pick it up. At least we know stupidity is environmentally friendly, it recycles...
59. Is Jerusalem Jewish
Miche Norman ,   Hod Hasharon   (06.16.12)
As we say on Friday evenings in the Kidush - as G-d said 6 days though shalt work and the seventh day is for the lord - so Tel- Aviv gets it wrogn one day a week - Jerusalem gets it wrong 6 days a week - unless Avoda Be'enayim counts
