Please, do not deprive israelis from the access of this important tool of spiritual transformation. Graczek, I simply ask when I read a statement such as yours that you research the history of the conflict. It's not hard to find primary source documents, which are accurate, from the time, as it is not long ago. That way, you can find the original laws, disputes, resolutions, settlements and agreements and so on without a new spin on them from either side. If you do this, you may have a different opinion of the Palestinian -Israeli conflict. Does it bother you that the Palestinians act as terrorists targeting children? Or that you criticize the only democracy, Israel, where Muslims and all religions can live and worship safely? Just open your mind and do your own research. Then, see what you think.

Keren....please don't beg. Even if at one time it may have been considered worth a read, how can it be so now that we know what a biased fraud the author is?

I am professor of Education at a New York University and the former Chair of an English Department at a large comprehensive high school. I have always admired Ms. Walker's writing as I often admire a fine actor's performance. This continues to support the notion that fine artististic skill and political savvy are mutually exclusive. Walker is part of that cohort of talent that is woefully ignorant, bigoted and myopic when it comes to the Israeli/Palestinian issue. Shame on her.

I'm sorry to say, but the representatives of the black race in the international arena doesn't make a very positive impression. Their knowledge of history and/or their choises....., it's always wrong! From Obama to Tutu, they don't have a clue what they're babbling about. An exception & example was Martin Luther King. His descendants should listen to his speeches a bit more. They might learn something!

Reading Ms Walker's comments, it is apparent that she is astonishingly, sadly, & (probably) deliberately ignorant. Even without getting into a modern (post 1967) political debate, for an ostensibly educated black woman not to know that: * The preeminent slave traders in Africa-suppliers of Africans to the English, & later, Americans, were the Arabs-hasn't she seen "Roots"? * That Arabs in some countries, to this day, still maintain (usually African) slaves; * How Africans, & blacks generally are denigrated & held in contempt by Arabs; * How the "Palestinians" have been held in squalid refugee camps & used by their own Arab "brethren" for political purposes over decades; not to mention that they effectively created the refugee problem themselves, is quite astonishing. Perhaps her insular, ignorant, PC circle of self reinforcing "artistic literati" should spend some time reading good reference material, rather than fiction...

i wonder if she is doing it to get her book free promotion
