Now in order to actually agree to anything yourself, you have to 18 in most jurisdictions. So, this is a case of the parents forcing their will upon the child who has no capacity to say yes or no. If a person 18+ chooses to get one on HIMSELF, that should be his choice.

The baby is 8 days old and many I know in Israel now, do not have a Mohel, but have it done at the hospital by a doctor. Know how many infections can happen under the foreskin? I also feel its a bit cruel to do this to an older boy, different religions and peoples have their age for this. By banning it I personally feel this will make it more dangerous for babies/boys as will be done in secret and maybe not always in the most hygenic circumstances.

Babies routinely rceive the MMR vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella, as well as polio and other vaccinations and various medical procedures. We do not wait until the child is 18 years old to decide. Circumcision by a fully qualified mohel or medical doctor does not harm the baby.
