Obama knows the Jewish vote is his no matter how he treats Israel. The majority of Jews are in favor of liberal supported social policies and see those policies as more important than support for Israel. They rationalize this attitude by citing Obama literature that stresses the amount of military aid that the US gives to Israel and fail to recognize that the aid is authorized by congress. They also become irrational and go into denial when congfronted by Obama's shabby treatment of Netanyahu, and the almost hysterical outpouring of vitriol by Biden and Hillary Clinton over preliminary permits issued for building in East Jerusalem. Actually, anything that Obama does for israel is a justification for voting for him. This blind allegiance to the Democrats is not good for the Jewish community as Jews are taken for granted by the Democrats because they know the Jewish Democratic vote is secure.

Diplomacy does not mean telling Israel where to build a housing project. Does your country ask US approval before construction begins? Does Biden believe Israel is a US property? He is the leader of the Free World; accordingly, his very presence in Israel is a powerful statement that Israel is America's closest ally.
