The long answer: Actually, Raytheon is footing much of the bill because it has licensed the technology. That's a big payday for Israel. But why would you even think about applying cost limitations on the security and defense of the State of Israel? As long as there are those who are committed to the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people, we have limited options: (1) we can continue to make sure that Israel has the requisite capability to defend the State of Israel and the Jewish people; (2) we can roll over and play dead; (3) we can negotiate with terrorists who have no interest in peace and are only stalling for time to regroup and rearm; or (4) we can rain unparalleled destruction upon Gaza and Lebanon that will send whoever is left in those terrorist hellholes straight back to the Stone Age. Personally, I'd go with Option (4). The short answer: Absent exercising Option (4), we don't really have a choice, do we? It would appear that Israel has allowed terrorists, their apologists and their supporters to determine how Israel must allocate its budget.
