The current British Ambassador in Israel, Matthew Gould, is an unpleasant, unctuous little lying toad. He recently told an Israeli delegation at the Knesset that there's no inherent antisemitism in Britain (no need for the CST, & no problems for Jewish students on British university campuses, then, we can assume?) , and that he wants to encourage trade / business development between the two countries. I guess we can now see the lies on both those counts, and that the antisemitism goes right to the top. A few months later, the Deputy Ambassador told the same group of Israelis that 'settlement building' is a major obstacle to peace, but apparantly didn't consider that the launching of missiles from Gaza might also be. You're better off without either of them. Right now, I'm ashamed to be British.

As a French American, I find your comment light on facts. "We hate Americans"? before WWII?? Check your history manual. The question at stake is wether Israel wants a valid democratic Palestine state as part of a sustainable peace solution or wether it choses divide and conquer, which plays into the hands of extremists both jews and palestinians. The reaction of France and the UK is worthy of praise. The international community is fed up with this conflict and the humanitarian and terrorist costs it entails.
