Have you ever noticed that the United States' borders including all the areas you have mentioned are recognized by the world where as the Israeli borders that includes the occupied Palestinian land and East Jerusalem are not. Wise-up

Make aliyah you belong there.

The timetable is a European/Obama/US Congress plan. There is no need to invade Israel but they simply can recognize a Palestinian State with 1967 borders and stop using vetos to back Israel. Kabish

International law and convention is all about consistency and precedent. No separate set of laws which apply exclusively to the State of Israel and a completely different set of laws which apply to every other country should be tolerated. It sets a very ominous precedent. Israel reacquired nonsovereign Judea and Samaria in the course of fighting a defensive war against Jordan. Israel warned Jordan to stay out of the conflict, but Jordan failed to heed the warning. They lost the war. Being nonsovereign, the land is Israel's to settle, retain and even annex. Barak hinted at annexation in his speech the other day. That is the best outcome, and upon annexation, the Arabs squatting in Judea and Samaria will be repatriated to Jordan. There is a raft of international law, convention and precedent which works in Israel's favor. All the anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in the world does not change law, convention and precedent. Don't go to war unless you really, truly expect to win. The consequences of being vanquished are not pleasant for the vanquishees -- but that does not mean that they need not be endured simply because people don't like Jews.
65. #56. In 20 years, over 2 million Jews in Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.04.13)
You also thought Judea and Samaria would turn into Palestine after the last fictional Palestine state declaration. Twenty years from now, the Jewish population of Judea and Samaria will exceed two million. Nobody will even waste their breath talkijng about fictiional Palestine. The vast majority of "Palestinian" poseurs will be long gone.
66. The definition of insanity
DavidM ,   New England   (03.04.13)
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Have you ever noticed that it does not matter what the international community recognizes or does not recognize? The Jordanians lost a war which they started. There are consequences, and the ersatz "Palestinians" are not entitled to a free pass. Any insistence that Israel withdraw to earlier borders is patently absurd and discountable, unless every country in the world is willing to do within its own territory that which they are insisting Israel do. Try selling the Poles on restoring East Prussia to Germany. Try selling the Croatians on restoring the province of Istria to Italy. Why should a different set of rules and conventions apply to Israel than that which applies to every country in the world that emerges victorious from a war it did not start? Oh -- good luck forcing the Chinese out of Tibet, too.

You *do* know that it's just $2 billion, and most of that is coming our way to finance the Palestinians? If he cuts funding to us, we will cut funding to the Palestinians, resulting in no economical difference to us, and complete and total disaster for the Palestinians, and the end of any sort of support for Obama from everybody - he would ruin the Palestinians and ruin his relations with Israel in one blow. Obama isn't that stupid.

I'm a 5th generation American. My father and uncles all served in the United States Armed Forces during wartime. Maybe I'll make Aliyah, although I'm an older person or maybe I'll stay here and advocate for Israel because what is in her best interest is in the strategic best interest of the United States of America. At least this American knows who her real friend is in the Middle East. We give billions of dollars to countries whose citizens then burn the American flag. No Israeli has ever burned an American flag. Ask one of Army servicemen/women who they would rather have at their side in battle relative to trustworthiness and loyalty...an Israeli or any of our so called friends from the ME.

Yay, kudos to you Rhonda. Would be a great pleasure having you amongst us here in Israel.
72. US AND ISRAEL.
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   HOORN NH, HOLLAND   (03.04.13)
IF I HAVE THE US-PRESIDENCY, I SHOULD MIND MY OWN US, AMERICAN, INTERNAL, DOMESTICAL BUSINESS, WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, WITHIN THE AMERICAN TERRITORY, IN THAT CASE, IN PRINCIPLE, TO WATCH AMERICAN INTEREST CLOSELY.
73. Who Made This UP?
Tzippi ,   New York, USA   (03.04.13)
How can all these people react when there is probably not a shred of truth to this article. An unnamed source? Who? Then maybe, and only maybe, I'll believe this drivel.

mendy ,   J'Lem   (03.05.13)
My dear BIBI , I have a great idea for you and your cabinet, tell obama that as soon as ALL the terror groups leave the gaza strip and we can return and live in piece: then and only then will you give in to what he ask for, and tell him this comes from an american living in the holy land , which by the way is NOT for sale
75. I am not a dictator.....
sabasarge ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.05.13)
.....sounds a lot like a former president's "I am not a crook". If America can somehow get through this idiot's term, he'll go down as the worst President in US history, and that includes the peanut vendor.
76. To Harold
sabasarge ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.05.13)
Please, show me one shred of evidence that any part of Judea (Jews...get it?) or Samaria "belongs" to the so-called palestinians. Never has been, isn't now, nd never will be.......get used to it.
77. @#1
lightharry ,   New York   (03.05.13)
We own the US tax payers accountability with their 3 billion donation to Israel. Is that asking to much?
78. 39. Say what?
lightharry ,   New York   (03.05.13)
If the United States was filled with people like you then it is a sad day in hell. Why are you not in Israel running your mouth off about the IDF instead of holding your hands out for US tax dollars. We elected Obama to lead the US and not to take orders from Netanyahu. Keep in mind Somalia had nothing to lose and 1000 plus died versus 21 American service men. Israel has a lot to lose if the US just walks away from the entire mess. The biggest enemies of Israel are Israel and just about the entire UN.
79. NO timetable
Brod ,   USA   (03.05.13)
Israel should say NO to timetable. Israel does not need to cow to Obama. There is only ONE that Israel and Judeo-Christians bow to and that is the Creator of the Heavens and Universe-the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob-the GOD of the Bible that gave and restored the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel.
80. to #76 Sabasarge - don't get over it, get off it.
On the Balcony ,   Akko   (03.06.13)
First, I'd like to see the proof that its ours to settle since every other country in the world and many Israleli jurists have long agreed that the settlements violate the Geneva Convention - but forget that. In case u were sleeping, the UN has recognized the State of Palestine consisting of, you guessed it, all of the territories occupied in 1967 (borders to be negotiated). You want more? the Ottoman empire/Turks had the right to tranfer the public lands known as the occupied territory. (That’s how the Bahai got such nice gardens in Haifa and Akko.) The Ottoman’s right to transfer public land was passed via treaty and Mandate to the British and League of Nations who passed it on via the Partition Plan to the United Nations who passed it on to the Palestinian Jews (who became Israelis) and Palestinian Arabs (who want to stay Palestinian). Clear enough? Simple enough? Got it? It ain't ours. So get over it and get off it. And have a nice day.
81. Report: Obama wants timetable for pullout from West Bank
Barbara Williams ,   LV NV   (03.08.13)
Bless Obama's American heart if this is truly his Presidential demand.. It's long overdue that "We" stop pulling punches when it comes to the way Israel's leaders, especially the Likud party, continue to treat the People of Palestine while also demanding that "We" Americans back their every war minded demand.. The good people of the Middle East deserve to see an American leader who has the courage to stand up to the irrational Demands of Israel. What's been going on for years in the Middle East, is not in the best interest of America, the Middle East countries nor the dreams of a better tomorrow for the worlds people. Press on President Obama. Please do not allow Netanyahu to dictate his demands and get away with it. More Americans and others around the world are with you on this score. Become the "Peace Maker" which you won the Nobel peace prize for.. Americans wait with bated breath.
82. Withdrawal from Judea and Samaria..
Amram ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.12.13)
when the Jews can safely visit and live near their ancestral holy places such as the tombs of the patriarch, without the Israeli army protecting them. I believe this is equivalent to Obama being able to safely live or visit Kenya.
