31. worship
grandestest grandma ,   pedtach tikva   (05.10.13)
anyone can and should worship and pray to their g-d but how and why to cause a dispute is not worship its terror these women don't have anything to do with g-d till it comes to hurt and be disrespectful to others wow they prayed today and desecrate the sabbath tomorrow. What worship are you talking about.
32. MERCY!!
rinah   (05.10.13)
May Avinu b'shemayim forgive our sin and have mercy on us
33. women and the wall
caleb ,   israel   (05.10.13)
Since there is no 'halachic' problem with women praying in talit and tephillin the obvious problem is they are intent on being provocative. As far a Silverman is concerned she seems to be like here sister- an exhibitionist. The diff at this point is that her sister is disgustingly gross in her performances.
34. The gullibility of people is amazing
Ephraim ,   Jerusalem   (05.10.13)
These women are making fools of all of us, and most people here seem to be taking the bait. They could not care less about praying at the Kotel or anywhere else, they are just using this to forward their agenda. Wake up people.
35. Israeli society
Sagi   (05.10.13)
is very sick. An illness has set in and serious medical attention is required. Medication will not suffice, surgery is needed, urgently.
36. Once again the haredim provoke and attack
Avi   (05.10.13)
They're not settled in the barrier and section given to the reformists. No, they want it all and will not tolerate other jews praying at the kotel. Why would they? They don't consider anyone outside their community as jews. Not the secular Israeli public, not te reformists, not the settlers and not traditionalists. If you're not wearing a pinguin suit and praying to Ovadia then you're not a Jew. It's time for the state of Israel, at the very least, end orthodox ties to the state. It's not acceptable they'll hold the monopoly and use it cynically to attack all other jews.
37. Stupid Jews: the reason there is galut and no moshiach
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.10.13)
Crikey - what would happen if the haredim did nothing and the women of the wall did there thing and went home? Nothing. Yes. Nothing would happen. You would not have 1000 naked women dancing and sinning at the wall. You would not have the police wasting their time and my tax money. Jerusalem would not fall. Israel would be just as strong (dafka, probably a teenie bit stronger). However, jackass Jews love being jackasses and spoiling for a fight. That's why haredim burn public property (hilul Hashem) and attack Jewish police (more hilul Hashem) and try to kill the women of the wall (more hilul Hashem). They love to fight - which is why the ones who are arrested for throwing bags of urine and feces at the police and women should be sentenced to 3 years of army service. In fact, while the government gets rid of electricity for IEC workers that I pay for, it can also get rid of free stipends for yeshiva bums (that i pay for). The gedolim praise parnasa, and praise sending talmidim chachamim to the best yeshivot. All the tens of thousands of other shmendricks should do the army and go get a job, like Jews have always done until the fatcat rabbis found a way to blackmail Israeli governments.
38. #15 and 21, the word is
ma nishma ,   modiin   (05.10.13)
RESPECT, when one group comes and disrespects the other, sparks will fly. Let the WoW respect the feelings of the religious who are in great numbers at all times at the Kotel, and they will give back the same respect to the WoW's. The problem simply stated is that each side has feelings. When those feelings are not just not respected. but trampled upon, friction starts and sparks fly. The answer is to cool down and show respect. Each side is human with their frailties. Start off on the right foot, treat the other with respect.
39. Haredi men behave like nazis
Berk ,   Amsterdam, Holland   (05.10.13)
40. Haredi is an unpleasant sect
Mark ,   London, UK   (05.10.13)
whose members pick and choose the bits they want from holy texts and denigrate in a vile manner those who do not buy in to their views. No wonder they don't want to join IDF....they are already at war between themselves and any larger society in which they reside.
41. #29 Haredim are not animals
Avi   (05.10.13)
For all the brainwashing and cult education they go through haredim are still not animals and they're responsible for their own actions and capable of discerning right from wrong. To attack people just for praying and throwing garbage both at them and on a holy place is beyond unacceptable and words can't put it. You blame the reformists for this haredi behavior and I tell you they're not animals. They get a choice. Finally, they were not provoked. To be provoked is a feeling done in an instant of rage with no clarity. Thousands of girls were sent on BUSES to protest and attack them. This was no moment of rage. This was a planned operation that lasted hours and included infrastructure for transportation and food. One must also ask where the money came from for all of this and why weren't the girls at school. I hope you think good about this.
42. Agree with # 6
Harvey ,   London   (05.10.13)
I don't relate to Haredi fundamentalism , but in this case I don't buy into the sham religious practice of the so called women of the wall . This is no more than a symbolic gesture of feminist defiance . As # 6 pointed out, the chances that these women are devout practitioners of Judaism on an everyday basis is approximating zero . Call it what it is . An act of defiance against Haredi male dominance and I will have more respect for their honesty . Haredi desecrating the Kotel with their vile actions , are just as bad . Simply a disgrace and makes us look as mad and bad as the Islamist extremists to a watching world .
43. lol
holy warrior ,   uk   (05.10.13)
The "only democracy in the middle east"the protectors of womens rights, its a jewocracy.
44. Can this women respect the torah?
Profet ,   Shamaim   (05.10.13)
If torah is so important to them, why provoke fights, disrespecting it?
45. This crazy world!
Profet ,   Shomaim   (05.10.13)
When i start see men wearing dress and wig, lighting candles in the kotel, then will be prove that this world is done. mashiach can come because we cant anymore.
46. Women always wanted to be men!
(05.10.13)
In Russia, women undress and go into Holly places. In 200 years, women will go nude to the Synagus. In EU, you have nude women on the beach. Unfortunately, you do not have a beach in Jerusalem. But why dress like you go to the mascarade?
47. MERCY!!
rinah   (05.10.13)
May Avinu b'shemayim forgive our sin and have mercy on us
48. Didn't the Rabbis have a mother?
Philippe Barnett ,   London , UK   (05.10.13)
Would have they treated her in the same way? Where is the respect? Aren't women human beings? Why all this fuss around haredi women? Did G-d mention to Moises that women were less valuable than the men? As a matter of fact I find women more valuable , more true , more G-d fearing than all this Rabbis garbage. Aren't all the calamities coming from them? It is time to give the women their place in society and respect them above all as they are the mothers also of every man's children. Rabbis : go get a new brain.
49. What a shame
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.10.13)
women being used like wrestlers on public display. If the location were any place else it wouldn't be so shameful. Who won this round? No body.
50. These Crackers,,,,,,,
Melvin, P ,   Waldorf, MD   (05.10.13)
These Crackers are just trying to create a history in the so-called Holy Land,,,,,, time defies a presence of this species of so-called Jew(no pun) in the so-called Holy Land. Women praying like prostituion are some of the oldest pursuits on this planet, if they are praying for health, a husband or more land,,,,,,,, whats the problem,,, these Haredi, and this so-called species of Jew(no pun),,, take notice folks are auditioning in the so-called Holy Land,,,,,,,TAKE ONE.
51. Haredi tough guys
eddie ,   London UK   (05.10.13)
can throw a few punches at women while they are praying, but do not wish to touch them or sit next to them on a bus. Of course the same rabbis who oppose their students going to the army, are happy to send them to fight such defenseless women.
52. To #6 Rachel
Shira Z ,   J'slm, Israel   (05.10.13)
Who says they don't I know plenty of women who daven three times a day, lay tefillin etc.
53. My departure from Reform Judaism
Nofyah Shem Tov ,   Jerusalem   (05.10.13)
I was with the Women of the Wall when they started in 1989. They have themselves to thank for my departure from Reform Judaism. I wanted to be Jewish, not have a sex change.
54. Extremists
michael Pielet ,   Israel   (05.10.13)
The so called women of the wall are extremists who have absolutely no respect for the traditions and holiness of the place. Its all about them!
55. Reminds me of Monty Pythons Life of Brian
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (05.10.13)
Ridiculous, what's wrong with someone going to wail at a wall if they want to regardless of gender. Has to be money in controlling access I guess
56. Are these women of wall paid by EU supporters?
(05.10.13)
57. blame the black hats again ynet
jack bauer   (05.10.13)
the women of the wall say haredi are defiling the wall? that is rich.... they are intentionally causing division and going against tradition. While I dont myself pay too much care to tradition, and dont care about talmud, but if its against torah it is wrong... while the black hats should have remained composed the instigators are not innocent... thanks again ynet for blaming haredim
58. Judaism
Matt ,   Ashdod   (05.10.13)
Look, I'm totally secular and fully with Lapid and Bennet's attempts to break the power and the parasitism of the Haredim in this country, but on this one the black-hat-brigade are in the right. What these women are practicing is not Judaism. They don't believe in following the halakha, so their insistence on making a scene out of performing certain rituals mandated only for men, when they don't even follow the laws mandated for women or for both sexes, smacks of attention-seeking and hypocrisy. If you don't believe in the religion of Judaism, say you don't believe in the religion. Be honest. That's what I do, and I don't keep kosher or shabbos or any of the rest, although I do enjoy a good ritual now and then just for reasons of cultural solidarity, which I try to do properly and with respect for halakha, especially if there are observant people present. But don't make up a load of nonsense and call it Judaism like Reform does.
59. Just let them
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (05.10.13)
As someone who has a charedi style out look on life I find it sad that these women feel some sort of uncontrollable urge to be just like men by engaging in commandments that they are exempt from. Maybe we need to stop fighting them? Perhaps very quickly they would get bored of the fact that no one cares and they would cease to come every month just to make a scene. Of course its sad that often the biggest enemy's of the traditional Jewish way of life and The Torah, are "Jews" that want to "modernize" tradition which its an obvious contradiction.
60. Haredim
Edouard ,   Montreal Canada   (05.10.13)
All this Haredim should be deported back to Eastern Europe If they love so much the treatment that they had their Again and again the religion that they are practicing is not Judaism Leave the women of the wall in peace They are real true Jews
