61. Hear hear finally somebody with some sense #58
AB ,   TheRock   (05.10.13)
Very well said. Some straight thinking at last!
62. what a disgrace
real vision ,   usa   (05.10.13)
SHAME...SHAME...SHAME on the haredi and their women/girls. Do you feel better now that you caused anguish to women who were praying at the Kotel...Shame What you did was unGODly
63. Kotel
REK ,   USA   (05.10.13)
This brawl among Jews reminds me of the battle between Shia and Sunni...although I hope they are not ready to kill each other. But it is disgusting and embarrassing. I don't have an affinity for either side. The Haredi are an intolerant, unsympathetic bunch, while my guess is that most of the liberal, feminist Wall-crashers do it far more to make a political statement than to fight for spiritual fulfillment. For the latter, the Kotel just happens to be a convenient venue to win one for feminism...politics trumps spirituality.
64.  rabbis Ovadia Yosef and Aharon Leib Shteinman
Ralph ,   caesarea   (05.10.13)
must be brought to justice for instigating public disorder.
65. Judaism is whatever the black-hats make up...
Cyberbrain ,   World   (05.10.13)
It just isn't Tora OR Halacha and their Medieval Europeanism has NOTHING to do with Mt. Sinai Same as Christianity is whatever myths the Roman Hellenists defined it to be. It just has nothing to do with actual 1st century history. Amazing how political power and costumes persuade the sheeple.
66. Wouldn't it be much easier to ask "The Man" him/herself?
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.10.13)
Is it not concievable, that the Meciful One could give his followers a sign, or ask them to spin a bottle(between man&woman) or SOMETHING? Or is the bone still dislodged in his throat and he still cannot communicate after all these long years? How lucky we heard him "talking" to these desert sheperds thousands of years ago....Right?
67. CIVIL WAR IS CMING AND THE END OF THE ATHEISTS IN ISRAEL
THIS IS THE END   (05.10.13)
68. What, We Don't Have Enough Problems?
emanon ,   USA   (05.10.13)
A lot of the world is against us, simply because we are Jews. Most of the arab world wants to kill us and drive Israel out of existence. Now a group of Jews takes exception at someone praying?
69. No 43 What has this to do with you ??
Tzimmes ,   Tel Aviv   (05.10.13)
You really are Jew obsessed if you stick your nose in our business. Get a life.
70. Turning anti Israel
Heshy ,   Brooklyn new York   (05.10.13)
As an American orthodox Jewish very successful businessman I used to be very pro Israel. The last few years I began looping off as I noticed the extreme hatred by the secularists who advocate gay parades, public violtionsof the sabbath and many other such issues. I never dreamed I would agree with the anti Zionist satmar chassidim here in the united states. I have now even stopped voting for pro Israel candidates and have turned very anti zionists. I do have a number of young Israelis working for me but I try to encourage them to become orthodox by inviting them for Shabbos and getting them to go to Torah lectures for beginners. I love my people but I can not support any group or government that is out to destroy authentic Judaism.
71. This woman arent Jewish but they are free
NATAN ,   ISRAEL   (05.10.13)
The haredim are defending there belives but is not there place the Kotel is a public place and a free place. So even the pope has being there. Very sad The Jewish people is more divided day by day. And to those womans they can do what they want but they are still not jewish.
72. Buy to this woman a dildo if they want to wheare someting
NATAN ,   ISRAEL   (05.10.13)
73. ha Kotel
basri ,   paris   (05.10.13)
Why these haredim are fighting these woomen instead of doing their work in Tsahal ? If God is looking at this place at this moment, how can He be happy about our unity and our love ?.Ha Shekhina is waiting that Israël become one heart, Light does not find place now. The Kotel is not the Mischkan, it is outside. Only stones, not the Temple. If we begin to feel Jews are the real Temple, Mashiah will have place to come. The way is respect and kindness is our heart. God will do the second step.
74. Make Israel a state of law!
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (05.10.13)
Israël is a democratic state of law. It means that whenever individuals or groups harm the rights of women or others they should be prosecuted and fined or put into jail. Incitement by leaders, wether politics , Rabbis, Imams or priests should be punished the same way as acts.
75. #67 Civil is coming
Sagi   (05.10.13)
and it will be the end of the religious extremists. I have long stated that civil war is the only solution.
76. Stupid Haredim
(05.10.13)
Bad example of Jews...
77. City of Peace and Healing vs Conflict and Trauma ?
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (05.10.13)
Prayers for the peace of Jerusalem. I repeat what I said 24 hours ago...Some battlegrounds and warzones act like magnets to disaffected people who flock there like mosquitoes to a blue light. The enmity, hatred and power plays of a place draw in all light. A downwardly spiralling vortex develops. Now in the year 2013/5773 we are presented with a situation in the Old City where ongoing conflict seems to be assured due to the machinations of various "leaders". (Maybe all these "leaders" should submit to a higher authority. If they do, even they may benefit! But, alas perhaps their egos and paypackets are getting in the way. A question...If the best factory in the world was broken how much would you pay the most qualified engineer in the world to fix it?) I believe that G-d wants Jerusalem to be a city of peace and healing for all people. A place of uplifting spiritual thermals of potential. But you cannot heal in a place of conflict. The schechina will not dwell where there is strife. If worship cannot be done in a spirit of joy what then is it?
78. Impositions By Self-Righteous, Misguided Ignoramuses
Robert Blum ,   New Albany, USA   (05.10.13)
The religious responsibilities of men differ to those of women. Men worshipped the first 'Golden Calf'. Consequently, men, not women, must form a quorum and wear phylacteries. These so called 'Reformed' Jews pervert the essence of Judaism. Judaism is not a religion of 'convenience', where one can worship using the religious articles according to desire and a misguided sense of equality among the sexes. Men don't have the responsibility to light Shabbat candles, to go to the mikvah after the menses cycle finishes, because men don't have such a cycle. Reformed Judaism cannot ever last to the 3rd. generation. Their founders reject 'Torah' and reject the inherent differences between Jews and non-Jews, which is keeping the laws of Kashrut (kosher), and keeping Shabbat strictly holy!
79. I think this is for show. Im all for egalitarianism,
hipocrates ,   earth   (05.10.13)
but this smacks of show, pomop, media, and attention and not prayer, meditation and introspection. This is pretty vulgar, these particular women should be ashamed for causing such problems.
80. #78
david ,   jerusalem   (05.10.13)
Robert your intentions are good but your Jewish scholarship is badly lacking
81. Crazy Feminists! Will NOT succeed.
Beni B ,   Baltimore   (05.10.13)
"We arrived from Tel Aviv to show our support" said one. I remember in Berlin some jews from USA came to support Scientology. Its all a crazy temporary fad. -- Its about feminists who want to act like men. -- I will certainly not start wearing skirts now. :_
82. 2 sides both
Teddy Rooseveldt ,   Efrat,Israel   (05.10.13)
For both sides: Having been brought up non religious until age 25 & the next 35 years Charidi I like to see both sides of any issue. The women are correct in that they may put on Tefilin. The great Rabbi Rashi had a daughter who did. But the reason the women do not put on Tefilin & Tzitzit is that the women are born on a higher spiritual plane then we men. We need to do that to fix things. Imagine a woman who buys a brand new car in perfect shape and she takes the car to be fixed. The garange owner says "I wish my car was as good as yours". But she won't budge, she demands her rights to have her car fixed too. We Charidi are less worried about WOW then what might come next.A group of Afganistanis might demand their own section of the wall as "the lost Tribe of Efraim", then the American Black Hebrews will want one section,A group of Baseball fan Jews will demand and each team will get a section. In the time of the Holy Temple even Gentiles were allowed to bring sacrifices. UNITY is all important, keeping things as they are will make sure that we are all one, any person can arrive at the Wall. WOW, what if I demanded a right to emerse in the Women's Mikveh on the night you go there? Why can't we men emerse there too? We have to do this in a unified way, sit down and discuss it first.
83. Tabernacle was not segregated!
American ,   USA   (05.10.13)
84. deport any charadi who causes forced beliefs!!
Yossi ,   Israel   (05.10.13)
85. It it another Taliban?
David ,   Beersheva   (05.10.13)
86. Haredim
karmel usa   (05.10.13)
Those haredim: can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Shabbat Shalom!
87. Ignorance Is Bliss
Mike Hocks Ryzen ,   NY NY   (05.10.13)
These women clearly do not understand or care about traditional Orthodox Judaism. Though they defy everything sacred to practicing Jews, they should not be attacked. They should be gently persuaded to exhibit their stupidity in a less holy place.
88. No difference
James ,   Phoenix, AZ, US   (05.10.13)
When I see a group of fundamentalists violently confronting innocent people attempting to excercise their rights, not as citizens of a particular country but as humans, especially by a supposed bastion of democracy in a region that so desperately lacks it, I become so angry because there is no difference between fundamentalist orthodox jews attacking women who wish to pray freely at a very holy site and fundamentalist islamic taliban attacking women who wish to be educated. This is disgusting, and if this is how your society wishes to be governed America should just abandon Israel to be overun by its neighbors.
89. don't have much sympathy for either side
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (05.10.13)
The women of the wall just wanted to provoke a response from the haredim & they succeeded. The haredim think they have the exclusive rights to Judaism. They're wrong & they behaved like animals today & desecrated a holy place with violence. There should be more religious pluralism in Israel, however, some traditions should be observed at the Kotel. Some practices of reform Judaism does not resemble Judaism at all. The haredim on the other hand go crazy with it.
90. Prayer at the wall
Fredda Levy ,   Kingston Pa USA   (05.10.13)
When the murderers marched our martyrs into the gas chambers they did not ask whether they were orthodox or reform. They were all equally Jews and all equally hated. Every Jew should be able to pray at the Wall as they wish and display their love of Jadaism as they wish. WE are all equally Jewish. By denying this we give joy to the anti-semites.
