Imagine if Waters replaced jew with towel head? You didn't quote the song correctly. He sings "That one looks Jewish, and that one's a coon." That would have sullied your point though, eh?
122. Old news....waters has already addressed this
Esz ,   USA   (07.25.13)
Waters has been using this black pig for a number of years already as he tours his The Wall show, and in many countries. He's already addresses this with an unsettling reply: he includes all the religions in his display of anti/disapproval. He's against all things religious altogether. His concert features videos of crosses alongside stars of david alongside other religoous symbols, all falling from the sky, all with negative connotations. His display of anti Israel pholosphy is old hat, and undeniable, but in this case, he hasn't done anything worse to the Jewish religion than he has to all the others. If he's being anti Semitic then he's also offending many others at the same time, which just means he's a biggotnall around, not just an antisemite.
123. Sorry Charlie
Lush Rimbaugh ,   Portland USA   (07.25.13)
Being critical of Israel IS NOT the same as being an anti Semite. Grow up, ladies.
124. The Star of David
Damon F ,   Indiana, US   (07.25.13)
It's the symbol of the political ideology of Zionism and Israel, not judaism. Last I checked, the candelabra is the symbol of judaism.
125. antisemitic? lmao
aristides ,   atlanta ga   (07.25.13)
i think this guy he thinks jews are the only ones how can use the star of david roger waters is an atheist and he beleves religion is nothing but a creation of man to manipulate and control masses, so that was directed towards religion, any religion roger waters lost his father in wwii and prayed to god to bring him back alive from war, which never happened he is angry at the church and politcians for having him lost his father
126. Love these hypocrite celebs
LittleBrushFires ,   NewYork, USA   (07.25.13)
They get rich off of selling their 10 cents worth of plastic CD's for $20 and THEN they blast "consumerism" ?!
127. To Uri Lichtenfeld from NJ
Andy ,   USA   (07.25.13)
BS! There wasn't any sing of Islam, only Magen David
128. Roger Waters Hates? OK
Ephraim ,   Las Vegas USA   (07.25.13)
But why would anyone with a brain support Waters' blind hatred and willful ignorance? Thanks, NO.
129. In the flesh.
Alan ,   Shetown USA   (07.25.13)
If you've seen "The Wall" roger waters has made an open point of using this kind of imagery and intense satirical lyrics to point out the reality he perceives. If one actually reads the lyrics to "in the flesh" he specifically uses racial slurs, and intense hate speech as part of Pink's breakdown in the film. One thing that needs to be understood is there is a difference between being anti-Israel and antisemetic. Many people view Israel as a negative entity as itself. But hold no animosity towards the Jewish people. Just because Waters is anti-Israel doesn't mean this was an antisemetic display. Much deeper context needs to be seen to make that judgement. Don't jump to too many conclusions here.
130. exactly
Damon F ,   indiana, US   (07.25.13)
It's not racism to oppose an idealogy.
131. Surprise!
David ,   Washington DC, USA   (07.25.13)
Well, I'm not really surprised that there was an inflatable pig with a Jewish start at this has-been's performance. I am a bit surprised that any self-respecting Israelis (or Jews... or non-bigots, for that matter) would choose to attend.
132. F= Roger Waters
Rob D ,   Parker, Colorado   (07.25.13)
F- Roger Waters and his stupid music. He is an anti-semitic pig and I will NEVER listen to his crappy songs on the radio or G-d forbid, buy anything they do or have done.
133. Roger Waters
aubreyfarmer ,   dallas USA   (07.25.13)
I have always loved his music but now because of his outspoken position on the Luciferian state of Israel, I have much respect for him.
134. Really?
BigFloppyDonkey   (07.25.13)
This is old news. He had several symbols displayed. Hardly any big entitly was spared. I have a clearer picture of the pig, I was there last year same tour. Don't like it, don't click it and beleive it.
135. The Zionist Israeli government...
Steve ,   Picayune, MS USA   (07.26.13)
...has little to do with the Jewish religion. You're not doing the discussion any favors, not to mention your own credibility, by fomenting this ridiculous smear.
136. RW Genius
SoDeLa ,   Canada   (07.26.13)
If you like hardcore, repetitive fascist-inspired rhythms peddled to depressed, pimply-faced, stoned white suburban males, then RW is genius. Tune into some Jazz...it'll set you free. As a bonus, it never sounds the same twice!
137. Shocked?
Lotta ,   Boston,USA   (07.26.13)
Really, you were shocked?
138. Rogers
iskc ,   stockholm, sweden   (07.25.13)
Good job Roger of exposing Zionism..
139. Part Of The Show
mike ,   san jose usa   (07.25.13)
I saw the show and there are other religious symbols used as well. The entire stage set is filled with slogans about government and corporate corruption. Just because someone has an issue with Israel doesn't mean they shouldn't speak about it. Best concert I've ever seen, by far. Why don't you complain about the hip hop artists who glamorize murder and objectify women? Give me a break.
140. Music shouldn't be political
Dennis Amnott ,   Londonderry, NH. ,US   (07.26.13)
Musicians from Kanye West to Bruce Springsteen should stick to the music and leave their politics in their guitar cases. Look at the fortunes of the Dixie Chicks. Personally I don't believe any have the intelligence to preach on the subject.
141. Israel boycott?
8ball ,   Atlanta, Georgia, US   (07.26.13)
"Even as Waters is a known activist pushing for the boycott of Israel..." he went ahead and staged a concert there. Roger is a little unclear on the concept of a boycott.
142. Love when atheists get angry at God
mikec711 ,   Raleigh, USA   (07.26.13)
Sounds like he is like many other atheists ... angry at the God they don;t believe exists. If someone were to tell me they prayed to green martians ... I would not believe that green martians were deity ... but it would not defend me. Worst case, I'd feel sorry for the person. My believing in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob offends the likes of Waters .. because he actually believes in the one he seems to hate.
143. Roger Waters under the Bridge
Savage Nation ,   USA   (07.26.13)
Rog' has been fried since their drug albums. Look at how utterly retarded the guy looks in their Pompei documentary all the way back in '72. Imagine his mush brain now.
144. calm down
Adam ,   USA   (07.26.13)
Sounds like Waters doesn't like the Israeli state's policies. Doesn't sound like he's against 'the Jews' per se. I think people need to ease off the hysteria here. You can dislike a government's policies without disliking the people. You may not like the Chinese government's policies on Tibet. It doesn't make you 'anti-Chinese'. You may not like the US policy on Puerto Rico. It doesn't make you 'anti-American'.
145. #33, what obligation are you speaking of
mikec711 ,   Raleigh, USA   (07.26.13)
If you understand the scriptures that Christians use, you will know that the sons of Jacob/Israel are the chosen people of God. I am a Christian and I am proud to consider myself an "adopted Jew" through Jesus Christ (understanding that most of the chosen people don't agree, but that's a different story) ... I feel no obligation to do anything but support God's chosen. If you'd like some enlightenment, I can show you plenty of scriptural proof of the standing of the children of Israel ... if you are already enlightened, please show me some scriptural proof suggesting that Christians should work against God's chosen people.
146. Had this symbol on US tour - nothing new
Mike ,   Dallas, TX USA   (07.26.13)
First - his Wall show is about isolation and persecution. Listen to First verse of In The Flesh. Second - he's used this symbol during US tour. I was offended by his endorsement of Obama for President on the pig in 2008. He makes political statements - a capitalist who wants to be a socialist except when it comes to his money. Still love his work even if I disagree with his politics. Thirdly - Jews are always the only persecuted people and never ever at fault for anything or never have persecuted other religions or races. Roger just happens to call them out for the persecution of Palestine. Anyone that calls them out on their own indescretions is labeled an anti-semite similar to a black person playing the race card in every situation being unable to step back and see how racist they really are themselves. Yes - I know the Jews suffered massive genocide and injustices and are rightly defensive. But let's also be real - they still are not perfect and have inflicted pain and suffering on others as well.
147. Roger Waters
John Giles ,   Philadelphia, USA   (07.26.13)
A lot of people are tiring of loose charges of anti-semitism and it doesn't work as well anymore. Animosity of Jews is anti-semitism. Criticism of the state of Israel is not.
148. Written and published in 1979
Chabot ,   Atlanta, USA   (07.26.13)
"That one looks Jewish And that one's a coon!"
149. None of you are floyd fans...
Bob ,   Alberta   (07.26.13)
The pig symbolizes fat greedy men and their governments. Of course they put fascist symbols on there.
150. Yesterdays news
grumpyolguy ,   Pawleys Island USA   (07.26.13)
Yet another example of a talented musician who is a wacko case. This guy is really yesterday's news, trying to be relevant. After all, he is just another brick in the wall. Even so, my Pink Floyd CD is going into the trash.
