I suggest you read Princeton professor Jan T. Gross’ book, “Fear: Anti-Semitism in Poland After Auschwitz." And that's just post-World War II Poland. The litany of wanton Polish massacres of innocent Jews shocks the conscience and is well-documented. The answer to your question, then, would be "When not?" History does not lie.
32. Common ploy
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.05.13)
The parents send their children out to play agents provocateur, and then follow with the camera. Remember that little shrieking harpy who kept howling at the Israeli soldier, touching his weapon, accosting him -- while all he did was laugh at her? Some soldiers have a shorter fuse. In any other country on the face of the earth, this kid would either be picking his teeth up from the ground, or his parents would be planning a funeral.
33. am i the only one
hello ,   tel aviv   (08.05.13)

ely benelyahoo ,   New York,US   (08.05.13)
IN ANY COUNTRY BOTHERING ARMY OR ANY PART OF THAT IS ILLEGAL' WRONG AND THEY RESPECT THE SOLDIERS BUT AROUND THERE A CAMERA MAN IS READY TO CATCH A SOLDIER WHICH PUSH AROUND FOR A LONG TIME DO SOMETHING TO SHOW TO THE WORLD AND YOU HELP THEM PLEASE DO NOT ENCOURAGE THOSE ANTI- ISRAEL REPORTERS BRING THIS KIND OF NEWS FOR YOU AND ACTUALLY CATCH THE BOY WHICH BUGGED THE SOLDIER
35. probably a set up
bernard ross   (08.05.13)
they send kids to provoke sokdiers, Any provocateur kids should get the crap beat out of them. no sympathy here.
36. good lesson. next time they won't bother nice soldiers.
(08.05.13)
why don't Arab children dare to bother or disrespect Arab soldiers in Arab countries? They know what they will do to children in those countries. Israel soldiers must stop being too nice to kids whose parents sent them to abuse soldiers so that they can videotape soldiers' just reaction.

So sorry, dearest Sarah, to hear that you had a relapse. Cancer is back??!! You will overcome once more, not to worry
38. SMILING IDF SOLDIER
Tomi ,   Budapest   (08.05.13)
The day is near when a video of a smiling IDF soldier in Hebron will go arond the internet ,with subtitle: IDF mocking and laughing at Palestinian Arabs. That IDF soldier should be sent to the Hague! This PR war against Israel is immoral , mean and disgusting.
39. The boy must have deserved it! Good job soldier
Son of Cyrus ,   UK   (08.05.13)
40. The arabs used the kid as a decoy, a deterrent,
A ,   Belgium   (08.05.13)
as the soldiers were immediatley called away to something else. #2. Kowalsky, you and righteousness don't deserve to be on the same planet, maybe look for your righteousness in a cabbage field in Poland.

GABE1 ,   toronto,canada   (08.05.13)
You must be kidding. What is the fuss all about?
42. oh, of course....
Gregg Bowman ,   Parksville, Canada   (08.05.13)
Yeah, and I am sure that this 12 year old young man was calmly sitting at the side of the road and eating an ice cream cone and reading his comic book collection when the big bad IDF soldier just decided to kick him and mistreat him. Gee, I wonder if this kid was doing anything dangerous or offensive to the soldiers. I mean, considering the PA teaches them to hate all Israelis and teaches them how to kill them and destroy them. ....but ya know, he was probably just sitting there being a great example and helping some poor old lady to cross the street.....C'MON, knock off the crap......warm regards, Gregg Bowman

to #3 ,   london   (08.05.13)
London has the highest amount of CCTV cameras per capita than any other city in the world - almost every spot is covered. Very rarely do we have such incidents and when they do happen they are not tolerated at all. I therefore view your reasoning as not very convincing at best and malicious at worst.

Bob Cassidy   (08.05.13)
It seems that your head is busted. Is that your answer to everything-violence? If you have nothing to hide, then why be afraid of someone with a camera. It is wrong for an IDF coward to kick a 12 year old child!

Who cares what the Poles did? It's ancient history now-get over it!
47. Let's compare the IDF to.....
Dan Calic   (08.05.13)
The "army" of Hamas intentionally directs rocket fired at innocent Israeli civilians, firing over 12,000 of them. They also position themselves in civilian areas so innocent people will be killed by Israeli fire in order to villify Israel. Yet Israel is supposed to "lift the seige of Gaza" to give these murderous terrorists a free hand. Since '48 over 3,000 Israeli civilians have been murdered by various Arab "armies," including the PLO. In Operations Cast Lead and Pillar of Fire the IDF did more than any army in human history to minimize civilian casualties. Contrast this against a lone soldier kicking a kid? Me thinks Israel can do nothing right in the eyes of some.
48. A fether becomes a Hen !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (08.05.13)
This is only Usefull Idiocy at the best. This kick was nothing to mention, it didnt cause anything but notise. Even the Police in Sweden are much worse on ocations and rightly so. Arn.Sweden.
49. WATCH CAREFULLY
Savid ,   Israel   (08.05.13)
Soon or later the greatest demagogue of all times will comment on this meaningless incident. Most probably he is now too busy with giving the orders to jail or kill innocent activists of the streets in his country. Have a guess Anton #8.Who is this DICTATOR? Be careful before writing his name because as you know he is having his secret service fallowed all the messages and arrested the commentators living in his country.
50. Most likely deserved a good kicking
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.05.13)
51. Kick????
Jeff ,   Washington   (08.05.13)
That's more like a kiss.
52. Some "kick"
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (08.05.13)
At 7 seconds the soldier, who is in the process of chasing the boy for an unshown act, uses his leg to touch the side of the boy's leg. That was NOT a kick. The camera then turns to a bunch of people on the roof maybe watching what the soldiers were called away to. Then at 44 seconds, if you look carefully at the way bottom of the screen the poor boy is running in the same direction as the soldiers ran and the people are looking. I want to know what went on before the interaction and I want to know what the boy was doing ( first they ran to the left of the screen and then re-emerged) while he was off screen. Also, why is the camera focusing on bystanders. What was going on that the camera didn't want to show? This is, as someone said, Palywood at its' finest.

Hey -- who cares what the Japanese did at Pearl Harbor? Give Okinawa back to them! It's ancient history! Get over it! Return Guam, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands to Spain! It's ancient history -- get over it! Return Wounded Knee and the rest of the State of South Dakota to the Oglala Sioux! It's ancient history! Get over it! While we're at it, let's force France to return Alsace and Lorraine to Germany, Poland to return East Prussia to Germany and Croatia to return Istria to Italy. Hey, ancient history! Shouldn't they all get over it, too? Do you get the point, oh dim-brained one? Get over yourself. You're an idiot.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.05.13)
Anyone that misspells "neighbor" is surely not a neighbor of mine. Not to worry -- all you have to do is try harder next time. Of course, if your post at No. 37 is the very best you can do (and I suspect it is), you're out of luck. Exposed to be a fraud, phony and idiot. Congratulations! Here in the United States, we call that winning the trifecta!
55. To No. 47
Bertram ,   London, UK   (08.05.13)
Wrong comparison. The behaviour of the IDF should be compared with the IDF's own code of conduct.
56. #51 Jeff
Bob Cassidy   (08.05.13)
The next time I see a 12 y/o jewish boy (which is an impossibility where I live), is it OK with you if I give him a swift "kiss" as you put it Jeff? I didn't think so!
57. This brat sure wants a piece of Iersushalaim.
Miron ,   USA   (08.05.13)
and with present time Israeli government he has all the right to believe that he can murder anyone in his path to it and get away with the murder. So, this soldier might be showing some stern side and a bit of cruelty, but the truly smart one would put the weapon down, and go to this kiddo home so that Israel was forced to release another thousand murderers. That way the soldier will get a few million sheckels and Mr. Yahoo will get another Nobel.
58. What a Joke
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (08.05.13)
If that was a kick then I need my eyes testing.

If you live in the Middle East and don't like our way just move back where you came from , if you live in Europe you pompous Jack ass stay where you are because we know and you know what you are made of., your lecturing is not going to improve your DNA
60. #43 My reasoning is very good
nickisverige ,   Swden   (08.05.13)
You are right that you RARELY see such incidents - but you DO occasionally see them and my point is that you can't generalize from them. For example, here in Sweden; It's not typical; the police in Sweden are generally very good. The story made the news in Sweden but there was not much (if any) international coverage; why not? Answer: There isn't an anti-Sweden agenda in the international media and there are no groups of international activists interested in creating such an agenda. Watch any police program, such as 'Cops' from the US or any similar European program and you will at times see police acting very aggressively - and this is even when they're aware of the cameras' presence.
