31. Dear Mr. Erdogan
Agent X8001   (08.20.13)
You are correct. There is a small coalition of nations that will also create your downfall via coup and/or other means. You are hereby warned. Please plan an appropriate exit strategy. Good luck..
32. I nominate Erdogan
USA   (08.20.13)
For the Turkey Award...!!!
33. Erdogan
igor ,   toronto Canada   (08.20.13)
there is no cure from stupidity
34. I also say that the ballot box doesn't make a democracy
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (08.20.13)
A democracy isn't made by an election. It is what the elected official does while they are in power, how the government limits the abuse of power, and how the country deals with the transfer of power. Great, so egypt had an election. Big deal, they failed on all the other qualifications.
35. yes we did
Adam ,   Eskişehir, Turkey   (08.20.13)
but not a million actually, when we are in war they killed womens and childrens, and when the soldiers come back, you see what would happen
36. This fellow....
Turkel ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (08.20.13)
is so incredibly obtuse it hard to believe.
37. Erdogan & True Meaning of Democracy!
Son of Cyrus ,   UK   (08.20.13)
Dear Mr Erdogan the true meaning of democracy is not that the majority get to power and them change the system in such a way to put their own people/cronies and ideas into law and take over the whole country and totally exclude the rest of the population. Morsi and MB took control by deception and coercion and then excluded everybody else to change the system to Sharia Law which by definition victimizes all non-Muslims. The root of the problem is Political Islam as it is anti human rights and liberty and justice for all regardless of race religion sex position in society etc... etc... Mr Erdogan please stop your ranting and raving and start behaving like a civilized human being! Thank you!
38. Anton # 10
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.20.13)
It was Kemal Dervis who gave the sour medicine to Turkish economy that stopped inflation and built foreign investor confidence. AKP (Erdogan) did not do much just enjoyed the benefits. However as we saw during the past weeks as US economy is getting better and interest rates are slowly going up in USA, Turkish Lira dropped down against USD. Turkish Central Bank had to sell billions of dollars to control. Many companies are in bankruptcy. Anton: Ecevit's last government fixed it all and paid a big price, AKP inherited the benefits and as years passed it lost control and things are not as good as you think it is.
39. Erdogan?
Anshel ,   Canada   (08.20.13)
It is the highest time for the Turkish generals to rise and depose Erdogan and his Islamist cohorts, once for all, before there is no point of return. He is either mad, or calculating to receive support from hard core Islamist.
40. Maurice
anton ,   istanbul   (08.20.13)
long time no see, you surprised me as well i deliberatly did not comment on erdoğan cause its not worth it, i can not defend wrong actions or statements most people knows the diffrence between a mere politician and whole nation so i hope takbackers here before bringing up armenian genocide, economy or kurdish problem would elaborate better the situation my response to number 3 was just to correct him, good to see some people can see other than whats said as for erdoğan im not ashamed of him im just used to him :)
41. Next coup: Turkey
Dan   (08.20.13)
Morsi based his strategy precisely on Erdogan's: pretend to be a 'moderate Islamist', use democracy to gain power, then gradually impose Islamist rule while undermining the army's role as guardian of secular democracy (the Turkish army carried out several pro-democratic coups over the years, before Erdogan deprived it of power). Morsi failed to hide his agenda, and the people and the army booted him out before he could do to Egypt what Erdogan dd to Turkey. Now the Turkish people are watching Egypt and thinking that perhaps they too can take our country back..... Yes you can! Bye Bye Erdogan.
42. Turkey
sam ,   usa   (08.20.13)
what puzzles me is the news item Israeli tourists to Turkey is up 80% go figure and the governments warning of safety concers, Why Israelis keep making spending their money where they are not welcome????? spend it in friendly Armenia instead
43. Blame the Jews, again, why not? After all, we, the Jews,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.20.13)
are even responsible for the fact that agriculture is not possible in Antarctica.
44. #33 et al: Erdogan not obtuse or stupid.
Israeli ,   Israel   (08.20.13)
He is playing to a very willing audience all over the world which is constantly on the lookout for reasons to hate Israel and Jews! What is worse is that Israelis are still traveling to Turkey and that Turkish goods are still be imported by Israeli supermarkets. The, the reciprocal trade between Israel and Turkey is very much in Turkey's favor but even if the situation was reversed is it worth dealing with a country which is so obviously and enemy of Israel and the Jewish people?
45. Just love this guy...
Sam ,   London   (08.20.13)
He is doing such a good PR job for Jews and Israel with all his pathetic rhetoric.
46. #10 Anton
Ben ,   Chutzlaaretz   (08.20.13)
Sorry Anton, but if this doesn't embarrass you as a Turk, what will? Whatever your issues with Israel, your leader is an embarrassment to Turkey. Blaming every thing on the "Zionists" (Read Jews) will get you and your country no-where, and as for Turkey's economy, sorry, but all indicators are that the fake boom is about to bust. The financials might be disguised by clever government management, but those giant loans are coming due and soon. When that happens, Turkey may look just like Greece and Spain.
47. Doesnt this pm jail his democrat opponents.
Adi ,   Zurich   (08.20.13)
48. Erdogan is now goebbles II
Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (08.20.13)
Just concentrate in Turkey and its economy in stead of blaming Israel. Anton, my coffee maker is making cuban coffee, you are invited.
49. #40 Anton
Maurice   (08.20.13)
Well, this time I agree with everything you say, except that I could not get used to a PM with such a BIG mouth who is embarrassing the educated people of his country every time he says something. Have a great day in beautiful Istanbul!
50. How wonderful
Sidney ,   USA   (08.20.13)
According to Erdogen, Israel has the power to bring out a million demonstrators and collect 20 million signatures in Egypt as well as controlling its military. With such power Erdogen and Khomenei will soon be out of office. Next Israel will establish a colony on Mars, or perhaps bypass the solar system and go to another star system.

James ,   Tel Aviv   (08.20.13)
In 2001 before Erdogan came to power, Turkish foreign debt was $44 billion. Today it stands at $530 billion of which $104 billion must be paid by 2014. Turkish economy is a bubble about to burst. I suggest you read Burak Bekdil's column in Hurriyet about the Turkish economy and then agree with Anton the supertramp....
52. Paye back foreign dept ? Who cares.
Nora Tel Aviv   (08.20.13)
Erdogan does not paye back foreign debt. He prefers to use those billions to buy ....adherents to his AKP party. Thats what dictators do.
53. Completely relates to "Modern anti-semitism"
Israel ,   Haifa   (08.20.13)
Once again it seems Israel played it's part in a CIA led operation to oust a leader who was determined to nationalize the countries 'resources' This would not be the first time israel has participated in a coup (or attempted coup) in Egypt, in Shimon Peres' own Biography he clearly admits that (led by the French) Israel persued plans to create war with Egypt to remove Nasser from power as Nasser had moved to nationalize the Suez, which of course would never sit with western interests and corporations. I just wish my country would just stick to it's own affairs for once instead of removing democratically (or not) leaders from countries (ONLY when they oppose Western interests). oh and to finish, the reason for most modern anti semitism is that the 'youth' in the west or Uni students are educated and can think! they have studied and know Israel usually plays its part in these activities, hence the boycotts, etc.
54. OK, Erdi, you are next.
leo ,   usa   (08.20.13)
55. Everyone is checking in
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (08.20.13)
Slowly but surely all the fools are checking in. Where's Alice Walker?
56. Erdogan's Blame Against Israel set of service
ltrail ,   United States   (08.20.13)
"Ergogan told members of his party during a meeting in Ankara on Tuesday: "Israel is behind the coup in Egypt, we have evidence." ". So what's all the much ado about? If Israel hadn't done this work to get rid of the Islamist coup than someone else who is a moral country should have done it. The Egyptian people do not want the Muslim brotherhood shove their force and criminal actions down their throat. Even Muslims in Egypt are tired of that little useless group the Muslim brotherhood. I believe that the entire Egyptian people will oust the remnant of that Muslim brotherhood.

Maurice ,   Montreal   (08.20.13)
I often read in the press that the Turkish economy is booming and that its thanks to Erdogan. So that's where I am coming from. I did not know about the huge debt load Turkey has. Thanks for the info.
58. Erdogan says Israel behind Egypt coup
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (08.20.13)
He has obviously gone insane. People of Turkey, wake up. Your leader is not rational. He can not seem to believe what happenned (just as the Germans could not seem to accept their loss in WWI) and had to balme Jews. I wish israel was that powerful but everyone knows it is little more than a puppet of the US.
59. Hope he is right, if so, turkey is next to fall.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.20.13)
60. It is about time that
Isac   (08.20.13)
Israel shows to Erdogan that enough is enough. Erdogan is still picking a fight and he is getting louder and more obnoxious by the minute. Let's get him a bloody nose. What a disgusting individual he is!!
