It finds it root in the fact that the overwhelming majority of anti-Israel demonstrations and pronouncements utimately morph to "kill the Jews". You will usually see both signs at a demonstration.
32. Actually, we need a Coptic 2-state in Egypt.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (01.04.14)
We do not need multiple 2-states in Palestine. Jews & Christians predate Islam in Arabia.
33. jon , 2 . Give some examples please !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.04.14)
You wrote that there is a massive amount of evidence that Jews are bad . Can you give some examples of this ? Maybe because of Jews who discovered the blood groups and Rhesus factor ? Or of a Jew who discovered the way to produce penicillin ? Or of the many other Jews who helped mankind ?
34. Distinguishing anti-Israel government and anti-Jew
Gabriel P ,   London, UK   (01.04.14)
"Jew hatred dressed up with fancy words, a remnant of the conviction that some people have that Jews are inherently bad." That is an absolutely absurd claim. There are, of course, instances of anti-antisemitism dressed up as BDS. This though, is an academic boycott by the most Jew-friendly country on earth save Israel itself against the current activities of the Israeli government. You have to draw that distinction. Protests against South Africa weren't anti-white or anti-Boer, they were anti-the actions of that regime. Whilst a proud Zionist, I can recognise that these are in a similar vein.
35. To Solomon and others.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.04.14)
As a true friend that I am, I become too sad because of these moral aggressions against Israel, and, of course, against Jewish people. The world needs to understand that Arab Palestines have refused several proposals of piece, during almost half a century. Remember Rabin and Olmert's inocuous talks with Arafat. But it is necessary you don't despise our suggestions and opinions. I and other Democrats and renewed Christians only want to accomplish our duties as good allies. Salutes.

How could one not have thought about it? From his elevated point of view, "On the Balcony" proclaims his verdict: "It's the settlements, STUPID, it’s the settlements". And "On the Balcony" is an honorable man (cf. Mark Antony's speech). If denying the San Remo Conference, if denying the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, that gave the Jews the irrevocable right, that became International Law, to settle at least between the Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights to build their independent state, if denying Article 80 of the UN Charter that reaffirms ALL the League's decisions (including of course the Mandate for Palestine), if claiming that the "Fourth Geneva Convention is applicable to accuse Israel, If denying the real signification of UNSC Resolution 242 as put forward by its author, Prof. Eugene Rostow, if all this is being in accordance with political correctness, than indeed "On the Balcony" is "an honorable man, so are they all, all honorable men", all those who attack with ferocity, but with vicious incorrectness, the state of Israel.

Yes it was Judea and Samaria in the year 70AD. If we were to reverse the clock to that time there would be no Slavic states in Europe (Poland, Serbia, Bulagaria, Croatia..), Germanic (Germany, UK, France (since Franks were germanic tribe), Half of Turkey would be in the hands of Greek speakers, and the rest of Europe would be in the hands of Romance speakers with some indigenous groups. So you need to be careful when you suggest that today's politics can be based on situations 2 milenia ago. And then, why stop there, let's go to Caananite times!

Why didn't you protest when what you call WB was occupied by Jordan , was annexed by Jordan ? We "occupied" this region after a defensive war in 1967 . Do you know , or want to know , that the first University in this WB was inaugurated under the Israeli "occupation" ? Do you know that ALL our propositions for a solution of this problem were rejected , the 2000 ones even answered with an intifada that left hundreds of Israeli victims . Regarding protest against other policies , yes there are , but the Israeli policies are protested more times than all the others together .
40. 4. Your "Bubble Tour" of Israel did not include West Bank,
A ,   Belgium   (01.04.14)
Gaza." Very good, Benazzi, you have finally realized that the "West Bank" (please use the correct terminology, it is Judea and Samaria) is part of Israel! The "palestinians" can keep their cesspool called "Gaza"...for now. BTW, Benazzi, how many "bubble trips" have YOU taken through Yesha? Hypocrite!
41. #11 It gets pretty cold in Helsinki, doesn't it?
A ,   Belgium   (01.04.14)
Cold enough to freeze a persons brain cells possibly? So here are some real EASY questions for you: Who were the "palestinians" before they were invented in 1967? Why did Israel "occupy" the misnamed "West Bank" (hint: Israel was attacked by "palestine" on the East Bank, remember?), how do you explain that appx. 80,000 "palestinians" are employed in Israel, many illegally, including appx.13,000 (although forbidden by the PA) in Judea and Samaria? Not much of an occupation, is it? And unless you have had a rock thrown through your car window(as I have), than you can only be grateful that the movements of TERRORISTS is restricted. Now why don't you go stick your head in the oven and try to warm up those, poor, frozen brain cells of yours. And PLEASE, you don't have to entertain anyone with your ignorance, there already enough of those "entertaining" types here, ie. #'s 1,2,4 for example.

Lis ,   Helsinki   (01.04.14)
I was too young to protest Jordanian occupation. If it still happened, and if it still caused almost the whole of population to be against it, i certainly would protest it. In fact, i do protest that the Palestinians in Jordan are in some way occupied. I protest that they don't have more say in the affairs of Jordan. I would protest more, if they did not have access to land, freedom of movement, if their inhabited places are intersected with settler roads that are for them inaccessable-offset by a fence of a wall. As far as Palestinans being invented, only a racist can say that. Yes Palestinans is a new designation (so is Macedonian, Bosnian, Kosovar and for that matter so were the Australians, Americans etc). That is what people mean by invented. They were not invented into existence. Their ancestors were here, whether they were called Syrians, Arabs, Gazans, or Martians is of no consequence. So it would be better for you to refrain from your racism just a little bit.
43. #2 Jon
Justin ,   Canada   (01.04.14)
Hey Jon, You are absolutely a revolting person, a pathetic excuse for a human being. You are definitely no Christian, that's for sure. Why no one likes us? People do like us hence the support we get. You cannot explain that one. Don't think too hard or try to muster any kind of compassion. You will short circuit your brain or heart.

You’re talking of the “West Bank” of Jordan Kingdom, a part of the Western land of Israel which the Jordanians invaded and occupied in 1948 war and illegally annexed in 1951. The genuine and real “West Bank” is the “West Bank of the land of Israel”, all the land between the River and the Sea, while the “East Bank of the land of Israel” is Trans Jordan, the area including the heights of Moav and Gilad. This part was torn away from the land of Israel, which is called by its invaders and occupiers “Palestine”, and handed to some Saudi Hashemite tribe colonialist family’s prince in 1922. As for now the only valid solution is 2 states for Jews and Arabs. The Jewish state of Israel will be bordered between the Jordan River and the Sea shore; while the Arab state will be between Jordan River and the desert. All Arabs living in Israel will be Israeli residents and Palestinian citizens. Arab will vote for their Parliament in Amman and Jews will vote to their Knesset in Jerusalem.

You have it backwards. True, some criticism is against Israel, not Jews. The vast majority is against Jews. Those who protest against Israel do not protest against any other [worse] countries. If they were truly interested in human rights for all, they would protest against much of the world. Instead they pick Israel, calling it apartheid, which it is NOT. Israeli arabs vote, are in government, on the Supreme court, and go to the same hospitals as Jews to be treated by the same Jewish and arab doctors. Hamas says to kill all the Jews. The PA says their land will be free of all Jews. Who is apartheid? Hint; it ain't the Jews. And you believe those who protest against Israel and ignore the rest of the world are not anti-semites? You have to pay more attention to what and how they say what they do.
51. and good Jews always support Israel
Stan ,   Israel   (01.05.14)
The author, who is a Jew like myself, is referring to "anti-Semitism" (what is "Jew hatred" if not anti-Semitism?) Sorry to disappoint you ms moses, this boycott and the other boycotts and sanctions which have begun are because of the occupation and the inhumanity of the occupation. 52 years ago the boycott and sanctions against South Africa began because of the inhumane treatment of the non whites in that country. Israel's Foreign Minister at the time, Golda Meir, said that Jewish Morality demanded that Israel support the UN condemnation of SA at that time. Unfortunately the main victim of the occupation has been Jewish Morality.

The Pals themselves have said "palestinian" is a political construct to fight Israel, that they are Jordanian, Egyptian, etc. And many of the now so-called Pals came in 1948 at the behest of Jordan, to take over the Jewish Quarter and surrounding area so the Jews would not be able to return. You see and hear only what you want to see and hear, which does not include facts.

60. #37 Read Theodor Meron's report
On the Balcony   (01.07.14)
to the Israel Government in 1967. Meron, a graduate of Jerusalem, Harvard and Cambridge Universities was Israels international law adviser. Today Meron is is the President and Judge of an International Criminal Court Tribunal. Meron advised the GoI in 1967 that civilian settlements would be a breach of international law. He has not changed that opinion. Go make your nonsensical non-legal arguments to him.
