1. soldiers must not refuse orders
(06.27.05)
A soldier that refuse order must be punished with maximum kind of punishment. In battel a solier that refuse orders can endanger all the rest of the soldiers.
2. Evil government
Ann C. ,   MO, USA   (06.27.05)
"Arik Peres" is doing a wonderful job of bringing down the State of Israel. To FORCE the IDF into a role that it wasn't designed for is to rip out the heart of every thinking Jew. May G-d help these soldiers to refuse this madness for their future sanity's sake.
3. Disengagement
Sam ,   Tzfat   (06.27.05)
Sorry. When you military commanders turn Jew against Jew, you lay down the weapon.
4. IDF Tries objectors
Ed ,   Pittsburgh, USA   (06.27.05)
I suppose soldiers who follow these "orders" can always use the defense "I was just following orders". It seems to me that it is about time that the Israeli public understood that when "ordered" to perform immoral acts such as the forced removal of Jews from their homes simply because they are Jews....IDF soldiers who have any sense of what is right and wrong should clearly refuse such orders. It was only a few decades ago that the world correctly viewed the excuse of "I was only following orders" as an indefensible position. All such orders should be refused. Soldiers that expel Jews from their homes simply because they are Jews are the ones endangering Jewish lives now and in the years to come.
5. Omen
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (06.27.05)
This incident is a harbinger of chaos. Sharon's mad expulsion plans need to be set aside. Better to disappoint or infuriate him, whatever, than to have the country come apart at the scenes.
6. State of Israel should revert to the British Mandate
accessol ,   Spelthorne, England   (06.27.05)
When large numbers of soldiers start refusing orders an army can no longer be considered as an effective fighting force. Can a Jewish policeman refuse to stop a Jewish thief (Jews do no arrest Jews) or a parking meter attendent refuse to penalise Jewish car drivers (Jews do not ticket Jews)? Zahal isn't an army its a rabble.
7. To #1-Unless You're a Communist
akiva ,   chicago   (06.27.05)

8. SOLDIERS REFUSING ORDERS
DAVE GORDON ,   CANADA   (06.27.05)
DO YOU THINK SOME GERMAN SOLDIERS FELT THE SAME WAY???????
9. Masada or Yavneh
EM ,   Israel   (06.27.05)
No Jews were evicted from their homes yesterday. Empty houses were pulled down. Houses that were planned to be used by right wing activists that don't even live in Gaza. So if It wasn't an issue of Jews evacuating Jews yesterday, then what was the point that bothered the settlers. Is it so impossible for them to realize that not all of us want to be dragged with them to "Massada". Some of us prefer "Yavneh". It's a pity how the same settlers who have been protected by the IDF all these years can turn against them. What about another slogan "No Jews should attack Jewish soldiers"?

12. Corporal Avi Beiber
Roy & Cathy Klobnak ,   Lorimor, Iowa USA   (06.27.05)
We agree with Corporal Avi Beiber and his actions. We are with him in spirit and love Israel! How can the government, both the US and Israel, believe that this disengagement will lead to peace? G_d help us all!!

14. Jews against Jews
carol e.cohee ,   USA   (06.27.05)

15. 12 OBJECTERS IN GAZA
EMILY ,   RED OAK, NC, USA   (06.27.05)
Good going, Avi! If there were more soldiers like you, this vile operation of expelling Jews from Gaza and other places would not be happening. If every Jew loved his fellow Jew and Eretz Yisrael, it would never even be a factor for men and women to have to make the decision on whether to remove Jews from their homes in Eretz Yisrael. Those who follow their own desires are going against the will of HaShem and they are breaking the Torah... I stand with you! Eretz Yisrael is not for sale, not for swap, not to be given away in any circumestances and Jews MUST remain in their homes!
16. Avi Bieber
Deborah ,   Sydney, Australia   (06.27.05)
Thank G-d this empathic youth demanded honesty and truth from his military leaders.
17. Corporal Beiber
Byron Smith ,   Albertville, AL USA   (06.27.05)
I support Corporal Beiber in his decision.
18. Avi Beiber
tom boley ,   coweta, OK, USA   (06.27.05)
Avi Beiber has my complete support on this issue. Jews should not kick others Jews out of the land that was promised to them by God.
19. Avi Beiber
Gina Pitts ,   Tulsa, USA   (06.27.05)
I stand with Avi Beiber and the others against Jews expelling Jews. It is a shame that Israel would give away her land that was promised to Abraham, Issac and Jacob to appease terrorists (which, by the way, cannot be accomplished).
20. Support for Avi Bieber
Evelyn Stewart ,   Prosperity USA   (06.27.05)
Avi Bieber, you are a hero!
21. Way to GO!
Terri ,   Missouri, USA   (06.27.05)
Way to Go! I stand behind you 100%! I was in Neve Dkalim two weeks ago. I stand behind you (and your decision), I stand behind the residents of this community! Be bold, be strong, for the Lord your G-d is with you!!!!!!!!!!!
22. Refusing Orders
Gary M. Cooperberg ,   Kiryat Arba, Israel   (06.27.05)
All soldiers, especially Jewish ones, have an obligation to disobey illegal and/or immoral orders. The decision to forcibly remove thousands of Jews from their homes is illegal, immoral, and a violation of democracy. Any soldier who agrees to fulfill such an order is a partner in treason against his own country which he is sworn to serve!
23. IDFsoldiers refusal to engage
Pamela Varndell ,   United States   (06.27.05)
This action is NOT in the best interest of Israel or its citizens and I agree with that soldiers actions! I recently wrote to President Bush stating "how can we as freedom loving Americans tell Israel to evacuate their land for the Palestinans"? "What would you President Bush do if that were something an opposing nation or people came into this land and asked us to do the same"? I know what would happen here every freedom loving fanatical American would fight for this land! Blessing on each and every soldier that takes the same action. Shama Israel! Baruch Hashem and may HE bless each and every citizen and soldier that takes the same stand. Pamela Salem Oregon
24. High praise
Lesley ,   Idaho, USA   (06.27.05)
I only have high praise for those Jews who stand for their Land. Avi and those who stood with him deserve a medal!
25. Ari Beiber -- What a Fine Man!
Rosemary Brown ,   Nashville, TN USA   (06.27.05)
Would that there were more like him to stand up against this hideous push to disengage Israel from the land that was given to them by the Almighty One!
26. Resettlement
Irene ,   WV, USA   (06.27.05)
The resettlement is WRONG. Israel should never have agreed to this.
27. Standing up
Margaret E Wisbey ,   Australia   (06.27.05)
I would that more had the courage of the soldier who stood up to the evil plans of Jew pushing out Jew's from their homes Well done good and faithful one Elisheva
28. Soldier taking a stand
Doug Priester ,   Montgomery, AL, USA   (06.27.05)
I support thgis soldiers actions and that he truly cares for his fellow Jews
29. Gaza
EM ,   Israel   (06.27.05)
Gaza was never part of "greater Israel" nor was it ever promised to the Jewish people in biblical or post biblical times. We "won" Gaza after the 1967 war, and some very shortsighted politicians thought it would be a good idea to hold on to it, and eventually thoguht it was even a better idea to settle there. Now we are struggling with their mistakes. To all our American friends...do you also suppport American Moslem soldiers refusing missions in Iraq?
30. Refusing Orders
M.G Metcalf ,   Kelowna   (06.27.05)
Soldiers should not refuse orders under most circumstances, however, they ought not to be ordered to carry out action against those they are supposed to protect. Disengagement of Jews from their homes and communities is not a military conflict against an enemy, rather is against the ideals of true Zionism, and against their own fellow citizens who are settling the Land of Promise. A country's military ought not to be deployed as a weapon against the people they are supposed to protect! If orders are given to do so, a soldier must object. This falls under the same category as a child refusing to obey a parent who demands that they do something wrong. The parent is supposed to teach what is right, not lead or coerce a child into evil. It's called conscientious objection, in other words objection based on moral conscience. These soldiers chose to stand for moral principles, and should be praised, not vilified.
