* They kidnapped Tannenbaum * They shot at a farmer in his field. * They have fired on Israeli towns and houses numerous times. * They fund and direct Palestinian Islamic Jihad on behalf of the Syrians. Not only do they direct them to murder civilans; they direct them to disrupt truces and peace efforts, so as to murder any chance of peace. Because Syria doesn't want peace. Do I think Hizballah is as psychopathic as Hamas or the mercenaries in PIJ? No! Hizballah has a lot of members who aren't specifically engaged in terrorism (though too many support it, or engage in brainwashing activities and hatred). Hizballah is actually uniquely capable of being a force for good in the region, but it must first give up the illusion of power; it must stop running a pseudo-state with a pseudo-foreign/ military policy that involves attacking Lebanon's neighbors. If Hizballah acknowledges the sovereignty of the Lebanese government, demands that Syria stay out and demands that all other groups in Lebanon disarm, Lebanon will immediately become 10x more stable than it is today. That would be good for everyone (except for Assad in Syria, and a few lunatics here and there). If Hizballah were to declare that when the Palestinian Authority makes peace with Israel, it will support a Lebanese-Israel rapproachment, then I suspect that there really would be no issues between Lebanon and Israel. The only issue between Lebanon and Israel today is the extremist militias operating from Lebanon (the same militias that make rapproachment harder for the Lebanese themselves). Hizballah could accomplish so much with so little effort. Instead, they have tied themselves to the Syrian Alawite junta and to lunatics like Ahmadinejad. I know that Shiites may like other Shiites, but Nasrallah has some really evil, messed-up and homicidal friends. It's quite sad.

Freedom fighter is a relativistic local term for those engaged in rebellion against an established organization that is thought to be oppressive. The terms "freedom" and "rebellion" are often confusing, as often both sides in armed conflict claim to represent the popular cause of "freedom". While external intervening parties, even oppressors, almost always claim to be "liberators", 'freedom fighters' also often become oppressors in the eyes of civilians. Though the literal meaning of the words could include anyone who fights for the cause of freedom, common use is restricted to those who are actively involved in an armed rebellion, rather than those who "fight" for freedom by peaceful non disturbive means (though they may use the title in its literal sense). Whereas, Terrorism refers to a strategy of using violence, or threat of violence to generate fear, cause disruption, and ultimately, to bring about compliance with specific political, religious, ideological, and personal demands. The targets of terrorist attacks typically are not the individuals who are killed, injured, or taken hostage, but rather the societies to which these individuals belong. Terrorism is a type of unconventional warfare designed to weaken or supplant existing political landscapes through capitulation or acquiescence, as opposed to subversion or direct military action. The broader influence of terrorism in the modern world is often attributed to the dramatic focus of mass media in amplifying feelings of intense fear and anger. Two are virtually identical. Ironic, isn't it? When IDF & MOSSAD launched an attack on US & British interests in the Middle East and blame the Arab Muslims (called "operation suzanna"), they were also viewed as freedom fighters of a "Just Cause". What's most facinating is that, when you oppose an American policy, you become a "Mullah", "Terrorist" or a "Fanatic". When you oppose an Israeli policy or action, you suddenly become an "Anti-Semite". Sounds as if the policy makers of these two countries are the same.
