1. And if your weight and blood pressure doesn't get you...
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (01.16.06)
... we will! No wonder people like this adore Roberson and Falwell. They'd join forces with Phelps, too, were he not so antisemitic http://www.adl.org/special_reports/wbc/wbc_on_jews.asp
2. Giving away Israel is bad for your health
Avi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.16.06)
It is immoral too.
3. Why They are Labeled Extremists
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.16.06)
They believe Torah and God and therefore they earn the lable extremist. A welcome badge of honor that seperates the sheep from the goats. The exrtemist insane failed left who brought the Oslo and Road Map disasters and mega failures who attempt to control everything including thought in Israel will not ,in their arrogant and datk hearts admit that all of their plans are extremly insane and have all failed. They war against the people of faith in Israel because their hearts are full of darkness. They even help their terrorists allies accomplish their goal of destroying Israel. They will once again fail,as that is their legacy.
4. IT IS AGAINST THE TORAH TO GIVE AWAY THE LAND OF ISRAEL.
ls ,   israel   (01.16.06)
5. Do you understand the difference between threaten and warn?
Peretz Rickett ,   Alon Shevut, Israel   (01.16.06)
These words do not have the same meaning. Sending a religion inspired warning about what they believe will befall him is not the same as warning him. The article's title and use of the word "threaten" in the article is nothing more than shrill sensationalism and has no place in honest journalism.
6. apology
Will ,   Jerusalem   (01.16.06)
These rabbis should have to apoligize just like Pat Robertson had to do. Or is there a different standard for Jewish religious leaders than for Christian ones?
7. Inmoral?
Jordi Gomis ,   Barcelona, Catalunya   (01.16.06)
The only inmoral thing here is religious leaders threatening a democraticly elected leader, and going agains the will of the majority of israelis. Only in countries like iran, etc... or going back to the dark ages of europe we'll find religious leaders trying to take away the power from it's owners. They say they don't believe in democracy...so, i ask them what's the difference between them and the taliban. Don't please put god in the middle of all this, as it has nothing to say, absolutely nothing. Using god's name in vain is blasfemy...but as they put the rules, and they apply them...it's time for israel to decide wether it takes risks for peace or if on the other side, israel will sacrify it's people for the dream of a few lunatics. Shalom le israel
8. Will- Pat Robertson shouldn't have to apologize either
Religious Jew ,   Israel   (01.16.06)
And it was a disgrace that he did. I, an Israeli Jew, apologize to HIM for him being forced to apologize.
9. The land is not ours to give away!!
Michelle ,   Israel   (01.16.06)
This land was given to us by Hashem and no jew or government has the right to give it away. Hashem will dish out the consequences!!
10. HEBRON
avi ,   us   (01.16.06)
i FIND IT IRONIC THAT THE RAG CALLS rABBIS EXTREMIST ,BUT THE SAME PAPER THAT PUBLICISES LESBIAN MARRIAGES DOES NOT CALL THE LEFTISTS EXTREME ASSIMILATIONISTS.
11. Against God's laws
Micha ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.16.06)
It is absolutely forbidden by the Torah to give away any part of the Land of Israel. It is the Torah that justifies us living here in the first place. Therefore if we deny the laws of the Torah and give away parts of the Land to non-Jews, then we forfeit the very basis of our claim to have a right to live here.
12. yeh , uha , ok ........
aa ,   london   (01.16.06)
13. These are religious leaders?
Jorge Dickerman ,   Tegucigalpa, Hondura   (01.16.06)
For me as a Jew, people like these, "Rabbis" that threaten the prime minister with harm for doing his duty are revolting. Reason and "Realpolitics" have to guide Israel"s leaders, not "Ayatolas" with earlocks
14. Will , Jerusalem (01.16.06)
DACON9 ,   PROPHET   (01.16.06)
THE RABBIS ,I HOPE WILL NEVER APOLOGIZE .. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROBERTSON AND THE RABBIS IS THIS. PAT ROBERTSON *THINKS THAT JEWS MUST PAVE THE WAY FOR YOUR FALSE MYTHICAL MANGD, WHERE IN FACT THE JEWS HAVE REJECTED him AS SINNER A HERETIC AND OUTCAST. BUT PAT ROBERTSON DID FACTUALLY RECITE THE PROPHETS WHICH THE PROPHETS DID RECEIVE THOSE WORDS FROM 'GD' AND WAS TOLD TO TELL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL.
15. To Avi, US
Jordi Gomis ,   Barcelona, Catalunya   (01.16.06)
The difference, my friend, is that lesbians or gays are not telling u to be like them...they ask for freedom of choice, nothing else. This rabbis, but, are telling 5 million poeple how to live, think, eat, breath, have sex, have kids, marry, watch tv, and so on...to believe in the bible or not it's a personal issue, and you can't force anyone to believe on what you believe, cos so far, no one has proven to be in possession of god and the truth... shalom le israel
16. The true face of the "MULLAs" of Israel ?
Secular Jew ,   Canada   (01.16.06)
17. Threats against Olmert
David ,   Brooklyn   (01.16.06)
Threats of assassination is useless and divides the people. Constructive action is however needed since Olmert's actions threaten Am Yisrael. The people must be made to realize that Israel's interests are not being realized by harming fellow Jews and giving away Jewish land. A consititutional revolution is needed (see Professor Paul Eidelburg) to give Israel a constitution, balance of power, electoral reform, religious rights, stated boundaries, economic reform, and various other rights enjoyed by other Western Democracies.
18. Israel should never give up Hebron, nor "warn" its leaders
David Landman ,   Natick, USA   (01.16.06)
Hebron was and should always be part of Israel. Israeli leaders should not be "warned" either in this manner. We are all brothers and need to work out matters, secular, religious, masorti, orthodox, ashkenazi, sephardi. We are all the same people. Squabble like siblings, but always support each other against the evil Arab empire.
19. weight and blood pressure???
david ,   miami usa   (01.16.06)
his blood pressure was normal (so his doctors said) and his cerebral hemorrhage had nothing to do with his weight (it was the anticoagulants that he was put on by his doctors). i am a neurologist and i put plenty of people on blood thinners. a bleed like he had has never happened to my patients on blood thinners. look, i'm not saying the the pulsa denura thing necessarily works, but this man did not die (or almost die) an expected death. if a million or two jews hate your guts, it evidently is not a good thing for you upstairs.
20. Thos is why secularism must take over...
hiram ,   tel aviv   (01.16.06)
Do you know any other country ( except Islamic dictatorship) in which religious people can threaten the government ? Here in Israel they can..and we know why... we are not labelling them Extremest they ARE extremists. The basis of democracy is respecting the decision of any democratically elected government. Short of that , the country would become Chaos, Anarchy, and simply a Theocracy ....
21. YNET Keep CENSORING my COMMENTS!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.16.06)
22.  hiram , tel aviv (01.16.06)
DACON9 ,   AM I A BIGOT??   (01.16.06)
Thos is why secularism must take over... YOU TOOK OVER. SHOW ME YOUR SUCCESS FROM YOUR TAKEOVER AND I WILL SHOW YOU THE GRAVES OF YOUR DEAD Do you know any other country ( except Islamic dictatorship) in which religious people can threaten the government ? DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER COUNTRY THAT IS ALLOWED TO DESTROY ITSELF FROM WITHIN BECAUSE THE MASS REJECT THE DOCTRINE OF THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND TRY TO DROWN OUT OTHER POINTS OF VIEWS Here in Israel they can..and we know why... we are not labelling them Extremest they ARE extremists. YOU ARE THE XTREMIST The basis of democracy is respecting the decision of any democratically elected government. ISRAEL IS NOT DEMOCRATIC. YOU DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION AND YOU FOOLISHLY DID ELECT THE GOVERNMENT THAT REJECTS GD THE WORD 'ISRAEL' IS NOT SECULARIST. IT IS A BIBLICAL NAME WITH A MEANING OF SEPERATISM OF HOLINESS AND GDs WORD. YOU ARE TRYING TO REVISE , LIKE THE ARABS, THE MEANING OF ISRAEL. Short of that , the country would become Chaos, Anarchy, and simply a Theocracy .... THE COUNTRY IS ALL OF WHAT YOU SAY IT COULD BE, BUT NOT A THEOCRACY. INSERT PERVERTED IN YOUR DESCRIPTION. GAY PARADES DRUG KINGPINS PROSTITUTION AND I HEAR THAT TEL AVIV IS CALLED '''PINK CITY'' OHHHH GEE, I FORGOT YOU INTELLIGENT ISRAELS HAVE REJECTED 'GD' ALSO EXCEPT FOR THE'''''''HISTORY''''''' 'BOOKS' HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND ME WHOOPS ANOTHER MISTAKE I MADE TO YOU ITS A HISTORY BOOK TO US ITS GDs WORDS CALLED THE TORAH. SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO OFFEND YOU INTELLIGENT PEOPLE. HIRAM BOOK PASSAGE TO ALASKA. GET READY . HASIDS KEEP STRONG KEEP GOING IT WAS THE 'HASIDS THAT WERE THE MACCABEES. NOT YOU INTELLIGENT SECULARISTS.. WHOOPS there i go again insulting a group of idiots.. am i a BIGOT? hiram add BIGOT on your list
23. nuts in the head
(01.16.06)
i thing that rabbis wolpa hertzel and crap need to be put away for a while.
24. Thank you Rabbis for having the courage to speak for truth!
Uri   (01.16.06)
The Leftist, Jew hating, secularist, Arab lovers will whinge and call you names - that's usually the most that they're intellectually capable of doing. You are not extremist... in fact, you are anti-extremist. You oppose a socialist-style government from ethnically cleansing a city which has been Jewish population for the last several millennia. Keep up the fight for what's good!
25. so-called Rabbis
Michael ,   Haifa   (01.16.06)
They are little more than primitive voodoo practitioners
26. YNET
Werner Marti ,   Switzerland   (01.16.06)
Censoring Lindas comments---Why, where are we, she is one of the very few intelligent commentators!
27. Hebron
Ira ,   Caesarea   (01.16.06)
We should give "them" Hebron and keep Jerusalem for us. No negotiating is necessary, because "they" enjoy it so much. "They" get to travel, have nice dinners, meet whores, and keep off of the "Arab Street." We shouldn't let Jewish loonies" influence us any more than Palestinian "loonies."
28. B"H, from the rabbi's mouths to G-d's ears.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (01.16.06)
29. Re #1 ... #21
Steve ,   USA   (01.16.06)
B"H Re #1: The police have moved in to provoke those residing on Jewish land, initiating the incident with explusion "orders". Do not misplace the blame on who is sending "forces" in. And on the point of blood pressure, the point is that giving away the Land of Israel is not a healthy occupation, being sendentary for the most part and also requiring a lot of overeating. Take up running, farming, or something other than that Land Giveaway task, which empties the soul of its vibrance and which wastes the potential health of the body. Re #2. Nice comment. Re #3. Is it not G-d who interprets dreams? Re#4. Nice. Re #5. Excellent point. For someone who sits alot, warning them to get more exercise and take care of their health is much different than threatening them. Re #6. Add the Arab MK's to your list who espouse destruction of democracy if you want to appear balanced. Yes there is at least a tripple standard. Your not listing one of the sides is part of the problem. Re#7. Warning and threatening are different. Warning is to prevent harm. Threating is to offer harm. They are night and day appart. The difference between the Rabbi's and the taliban is that the Rabbis are Aaron's decendents, yes, G-d's choice. A Rabbi is a teacher of the word of G-d, so definately without that, you may end up with the Taliban at your doorstep. Re #8. And where are the apologies for detaining the chariatable clothes in Ben Gurion Airport? We need mutual courtesy. I think that Pat might have learned something, that the ways of the Lord are mysterious and we cannot fully appreciate what is happening yet, and on that basis he made an apology in assuming he understood G-d completely. I think it was an honorable move. Re #9. Nicely stated. But we need continuous help from Above to keept it. G-d, help us now. Re#10. Nice critical analysis. Re #11. It is G-d's land. We do not forfeit G-d's rights to it, to send us to excile as G-d pleases and to return us as G-d pleases. Re#12. Nice brevity. Re#13. Threaten and warn are different. If one sees harm coming it is one's duty to warn. This is much different from the harm that threatens that one is warning about! Re#14. G-d's prophets are true allusions to Torah, but prophesy is dependent on a close relationship with G-d. Re#15. In Israel, there is plenty of imposition. If one demonstrates improperly (i.e. Orange crowd), one is thrown in Jail without trial for a long time (months). I have no reason to believe Gay and Lesbian means friendly and nice, except within a certain crowd. Everyone promotes his or her worldview. #16 No MULLA's in Israel ... yet, unless you keep kicking the Jews out of their homes. #17 Making the teapot boil does not improve the flavor of the tea. A warning is much different than an assasination attempt. Do not improperly equate them. It seems from the way the response is written that it refers to the article in question. #18. The leaders of Hebron have been "warned" already with expulsion orders. Sounds one sided if only one side can warn. #19. May not be a matter of hate guts. Could just be that it looks dangerous to continue in the path. Do most of your patients work in high-stress leadership positions while receiving treatment? #20. Warning is different than threaten. The basis of constitutional democracy is respect of defined human rights. Property rights are a given in most democracies these days. Israel's religion is not based on democracy, but on three people, and one G-d which predated democracy. #21 Maybe it will encourage you to start a online paper where less is censored. Go Linda! I am looking forward to your web-link. ...
30. to #14
Will ,   Jerusalem   (01.17.06)
Thank you for that very concise, articulate, and well formulated argument. I clearly see your point now.
