This Orthodox Religious Zionist just wants to say that I am glad we have people like you... in Florida, or New York. It is easy, I guess, to foment civil war when it's other people (or their children) whose blood will be shed. We in Israel, whose lives depend every moment of every day on the IDF, do not want your civil war. I guess those who can safely sit on the sidelines always shout the loudest. But the shrillness of your hysteria can't mask your impotence and irrelevance.
32. Amona violence
Ava ,   Florida USA   (02.01.06)
As an American Jew, I am appalled and disgraced by the Israeli government's violent actions against the protestors in Amona today. To all Israelis-kick out Olmert and his evil, immoral administration!
33. To # 26 - Words on the Stone
Drs. Dorothea Killus ,   Near Basel, Germany   (02.01.06)
If I get it right, the words say, "Our LORD live, King David, forever!". -Which beautiful words, a confession which surely is and comes true!
34. Chicago 1968
Jonathan and Mollie ,   Pennsylvania   (02.01.06)
The police and IDF were put into an untenable position because ofthe government's stubborness and the right-wingers incitement. The right wing, by their failure to show leadership and urge non-violence clearly allowed the hot-heads and the fanatics to paint a picture of the settlers as lawbreakers and fanatics who did not hesitate to hurt their own soldiers. However, the government has nothing to be proud of either in the way they handled the situation. How about a little restraint and a continuation of the negotiations to reach a compromise. With existential dangers posed by Iran and Hamas, why was it so important to demolishless than 10 buildings at that time and show who was the boss? The use of tactics such as using horses to charge the demonstrators and the injuries suffered by non-violent protestors remind me of the police riot during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. Why wasn't tear gas utilized to disband the protestors? If this is the middle way, G-d help us all.
35. "Hail our lord king David forever!"

36. Amona et al
James ,   London, England   (02.01.06)
Olmert got it right at Herziliya last week. There is a choice - between illegally occupying Arab lands in so-called 'Biblical' Israel, and security for Jews in a state alongside a Palestinian state. Me - I choose security for Jews way above self-indulgent attachment to land from an old story.
37. #36 Do you then support the transfer of Arabs from Israel ?

38. #34 Why were the Jews removed from the property they own?
AK   (02.02.06)
Police brutality is the only common element with 1968. The US did not face an existential threat in 1968; instead it was a world superpower stuck with an increasingly unpopular war, very far away from home. But you were right to observe the government’s unexplainable urgency to demolish those houses. Please note that the 10, 000 previously successful and productive people expelled from their homes and farms in Gaza are still homeless (the best they can hope for is trailer park) and jobless. What's more, the government doesn't consider their government- created plight a high priority. Instead the government is busy creating even more homeless population. I hear that over 1,000,000 Israeli Jews have left Israel. It looks like this government is aiming to increase that number by twofold.
39. what are you people thinking
voice of reason ,   New York   (02.02.06)
Have any of you looked at the view of the map of Israel from above? Before we know it there wont be any thing left to fight over. The one thing we have always had is that we were the Jews against whoever it may be at a particular time. If we dont even stand up to protect each other then where will we be when they come for us. Israel is surrounded by those who hate us. Is giving away the little land that we have going to help us. Can we really have peace with people who want us dead? Get real please people. Hamas has won, the Palestinial people have spoken - they want a terrorist state and well as long as Olmert and his henchmen continue on in this path - he'll win - maybe he will move to New york and run for Mayor Of New York since he is doing such a fine job In Israel. He has been in office a whole month and never in the History of the Jewish people or the Jewish state has there been such Violence Jew against Jew congratulations Olmert on a job well done - Dont worry G-d will take care of him too in the right time!
40. Some nerve Linda Rivera
Richard ,   USA   (02.02.06)
Criticizing the fact that the USA finally felt compelled to give bribe money to the Palestinians who were so long ignored in any serious negotiations that now crazy Hamas has been voted in by its frustrated population. There has been 100,000 times more money given to Israel by US taxpayers (be very glad that was never put to a vote). From the looks of things here it appears the US could use that money now. All religions, whose effects bound beyond humble, pious and private reflection are the bane of man's existence. It seems that with increasing speed the 3 majors, Islam, Judaism and Christianity are propelling us toward their sick desire for some version of an "End Times." Too bad we sane people can't be excluded, or that the majority of peaceful worshipers can't overcome the overbearing intolerence of the absolutely insane fundamentalists who intimidate the tenet followers with volume and a convoluted version of a "moral high ground." I have an idea......move to Israel. You do neither your preferred country or the one you unfortunately occupy any good in your present position.
41. rocks and beams thrown at cops
alan ,   SF   (02.02.06)
Since when is throwing many many rocks and beams-- as shown in this video-- kosher? Did you learn how to do these tricks in yishva Chabadnicks? Is this what your rabbis told you? To assault the police? From what I could see in this video, the cops on horse were trying to heard the crowd away. The MK who got a cut above his eye is now pretending he had a broken head. These tactics are loosing you any sympathy you may have had among Ameican Jews except for the fanatical fringe. Cease and desist.
42. Israeli Pogrom
ben ami ,   nyc   (02.03.06)
If this happened in Moscow or Kiev, everyone including Olmert would be condemning it. Now it is Ol mert who is the chief Pogromchik.

44. Giving Away Israel
Eric ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.03.06)
I do feel bad for the soldiers who were injured by the protestors, but can you really blame them? Alan (#41), how would you feel if the police showed up and tried to tear down your neighborhood. These are people who are losing their homes. Israel is smaller than New Jersey, and Americans just make fun of Jersey for being the place New York sends it garbage. That is all we have. I was invited to this protest and fully support the cause. I do not agree with throwing cinder blocks at soldiers, but as we have all said, a Jew does not exhile a Jew. New York, San Fran, London, wherever, any Jew is given a home in Israel. The "Palistinians" do not want a two state solution, they want a one state solution, no Israel. Period. Any land we give up is one step closer to the Jews being pushed into the Medeteranian Sea. We have to stand strong. If we do not protect our land, and each other, no one else will.
45. To hamas supporter
Dov Jacobs ,   Unown Unown   (02.04.06)
The creater of the heaven and the earth has given the Land of Israel only to us the Jews. The Hamas and its supporters are welcome to live anywhere else in the world.
46. harsher punishment?
Ari ,   Cleveland USA   (02.07.06)

47. how could u say such a horrible thing
