Given the stabbing of a gay marcher last year by a haredi onlooker, the march this year also is a challenge to anti-gay violence specifically in Jerusalem.
62. # 59 Correction Jerusalem is the “HOLY CITY”
Ronald Hume ,   New Zealand   (05.07.06)
Possibly to you Jerusalem is not the “HOLY CITY”, however to all who believe the scriptures and in the eternal G_d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Jerusalem is “the Holy City” and the Jews are His chosen people. Here are a few scriptural reference which clearly state the Jerusalem is the one and only HOLY CITY of G_d, NOT Medina, nor Mecca nor the Vatican nor Rome or any other city on earth. Take particular note of Zechariah 8:3 and read Isaiah 48, 52 and 53 you may just discover your Messiah. 2 Chronicles 8:11; Nehemiah 11:1 Nehemiah 11:18 Psalm 46:4 Psalm 48:1 Isaiah 52:1; Isaiah 60:14; Daniel 9:24; Zephaniah 3:11; Zechariah 8:3. ronhume@xtra.co.nz

hi sk, it's me again, different subject ! I have a problem with anti gay violence, in fact I have a problem with anti anything violence, but my biggest problem in this respect is with the haredim. If they do not get what they want, they resort to violence. If something upsets them, they resort to violence, physical violence as well as verbal violence in the legislature. This for me is a big problem which is getting out of hand. Oh, by the way, Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel. The Capitol is by the Potomac and once upon a time was by the Tiber.
64. #62: Hume, the homohating missionary
sk ,   USA   (05.07.06)
Hume, you have chutzpah, I grant you that. References to Jerusalem as the "Holy City" are shorthand for saying "holy for three religions," a way of de-Judaizing the place and making claims on it by Christians and Muslims. I agree it is "holy"; allow me to spell things out in long hand for you: Jerusalem is the holy and eternal capital of THE JEWISH PEOPLE. Have I cleared things up? Incidentally, for all your talk about "chosen people," you are merely a retro Christian missionary trying to convert Jews. Your reference to the "Messiah" makes this point clear. Therefore, you do not even qualify as a righteous gentile.

Hi yakov. I am delighted (but not really surprised) at your stance in #63. I am also willing to trust your assessment regarding violent haredim. The thing is, I am reluctant to believe anything that Ynet "reports" about such violence, given its extreme leftist bias. My guess is that the reason haredi violence is tolerated is in part because the haredim are needed to maintain a government. And why are they needed? Because the Israeli Left keeps trying to create a Smaller Israel that is indefensible, and normal people keep trying to vote the Left out of power. This is also why the "High Court" keeps intervening to keep the national camp out of power, as it did most recently with Lieberman. Thus, haredi lawlessness can be seen as a byproduct of attempts to maintain nondemocratic control. The haredim also (apparently) don't have divided loyalties between their religion and their country, as, in general, they don't care much for the latter. This gives them a tactical advantage that Orange Israel does not have. You are obviously correct regarding "capital" and "capitol," with the minor quibble that a "capitol" actually refers more generally to any building housing a legislature.
66. # 64 Know G_d, know peace; No G_d, no peace
Ronald Hume ,   New Zealand   (05.08.06)
First of all let me make it clear I do not hate homosexuals only what they do. Secondly, some of my best friends both in business and in the army have been and are Jews. I have never come across one that has spew such venom and hate as you do. I can only sense that somewhere in your life you have been badly treated by goyim. I love Jewish people and I believe that Israel and Jerusalem belongs to them. I can never convert a Jew, only the Spirit of G_d can reveal the Messiah to you and this He will never do against your will because He never goes against our freedom of choice. You would have to be humble and open minded enough to look at the evidence contained in the Tanakh, which you are obviously not. I question whether you are even capable of debating any issue let alone eternal issues. Finally, hear what the prophet Isaiah says; "Listen to this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness- you who call yourselves citizens of the HOLY CITY and rely on the God of Israel— the LORD Almighty is his name: I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. For I knew how stubborn you were; the sinews of your neck were iron, your forehead was bronze. Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you… "Listen to me, O Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I AM HE; I AM THE FIRST AND I AM THE LAST…. This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea…."There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked."

Excellent point. You are right on target. The secularists and the skeptics have not studied their history and their Holy Bible. If they do not know their historical and spiritual roots, it would be hard for them to discern God and His commandments to His people. Prophet Elijah cried to God and asked whether he was the only one left who believed in Him and God assured Elijah that there were 7000 that were faithful to Him. It would be well for them to know their God--I AM who spoke to Moses on Mt. Horeb (Genesis 3:14).

The text should be Exodus 3:14.

"All because you are born with a homosexual orientation. Gays must have equal rights...." As some one who G-d has delivered from alcoholism, and has been recently diagnosed with adult ADD, I'll put it this way; ADD is genitic i was born this way. it's considered a disorder. alcholism is considered a heriditary risk, ie I was born this way. a disorder. you say thats different. no it's not. if indeed you are born gay, it is a disorder. if i act in line with my alcoholic tendencies i'm shunned. i'm jailed. i loose everything (and did). but hey i chose to drink. i could have resisted, i could have made other choices. i suffered for my chioces, even if i was born predisposed to go that way. i still paid the price. ADD produces it's own results, jumping off cliffes, taking unnecessary risk personally and finacially. i did not get special rights for my behavior. i learned to deal with both thru the help of G-d. i am not a proud alcholic. i take various herbs and nutrients to tame my ADD and accentiate it's positive side's. Homosexuallity is a disorder if it is genitic, but you still choose. if it's an alternitive life style then you choose . no special rights and priviledges for bad choices. when i was in the world i liked my women in the bed others on the floor. no special rights by the way the homosexual comunities need to make your minds up. is it an alternative or is it something you just can't avoid, like being born black in the usa. no one ever called being a chineese minority an alternitive life style. to march in jerusalem the way that gays do in in frisco is, the worst that can be done. not only does it not engender respect when you act disrepectfully, but this city is THE HOLY CITY. to disrespect the Holy one of isreal, the Lord of Host, is a spiritual dangerous thing. why not take it to rome. vatican city .

Jerusalem is known to the world as a holy city - It is incomprehensible for her citizens to host an event that belongs in Sodom & Gomorrah
