Typical of arabs. If you read the real history you see that Jerusalem is a jewish land and always has been, even when it was under arab control. You arabs only want Jerusalem when you can"t have it. Look at the history.
5. Canada
Avraham ,   Israel   (05.07.06)
As a Canadian citizen living in Israel, my message to the Canadian court is you are full of crap! Canada has become a mouthpiece for the arabs & has lost all the credibility it had in Israel. It is about time the Jews of Canada stood up to their anti-semitic government & protest to their MP's en mass. Remember former PM Wm. Lyon McKenzie's comment of "None is too many" in the 40's when the Jews tried to escape the Holocaust by boat & go to Canada. Mckenzie made this comment, wouldn't let the ships into port & turned them around. Everyone was murdered in Europe.
6. Canada doesn't recognize our capital?

Olmert, show us you have some courage---move our embassy to Vancouver or open joint embassies in Montreal and Ottawa, and tell the Canadians that there capital is in dispute between the Quebecois and the rest of the country (which it is).
7. atnawi, a very simple question..
ash ,   gush etzion   (05.07.06)
you say " AL_QUDS the Capital of HISTORIC PALESTINE you like it or not " Where was this nation, state, country of Palestine? If it was so historic, where was it, who was it's leader? And considering Muslims occupied Jerusalem for over 1,000 years, which Muslim Caliphate or ruler EVER made Al-Quds their capital?? Answer such simple questions or we can all asume they are unanswerable and we will go back to knowing Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. You have your chance and we await.... www.kicisrael.blogspot.com

Palestinian Flag copy?? hahahahah Both Palestine and Jordan copied their Flags from the arab History . Most arab countries have similar flags and colours. By the way Palestine Flag is OLDER than the Jordanian one so the latter is the copy and not the former :-) Shalom
9. #7 This nation was here when you were not.
atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (05.07.06)
The state called state of Palestine, and the people called the people of palestine or (Palestinites). The leader... was AL-KHALIFA. all present arab and muslem countries including Palestine used to be ruled over from a central government (Khalifa Government). All over the ages, Jerusalem, or AL-QUds is the central city of Palestine (The capital) as well as Amman for Jordan, damascus for syria and so on. The prophet Mohammad considered AL-Quds as holy as Mecca (The Capital of Islam since day one). Now your turn to answer my questions: Who was the Israeli Prime minister from 1936-1948. Was there any thing called Israel before the 1948? where was the nation, state, country of Israel? If my answers are not to your satisfaction, go back to teh Israeli government Archive, and UN archive, and History, you will see thousands of document talking about Historic PAleestine, Palestinian people, UN 242, UN 181, UN194, British mandate was on Palestine as the british official documents stated not Israel. And suppose that Jerusalem or AL-Quds was not annonced to be the sate of Palestine, still this does not give you the right to annonce it your capital, the same thing will apply to every other state by that time. So Go Ahead rule over the world. I hope your very simple question is been answered. grow up, take some history lessons, and you will know the truth. I do know my 10 grand father, I know the history of all my grands, they all lived here, died here, and I born here, this by itself give me the right to live here with dignity (thats not to go through you Besentic Argument of who been first here Arabs, or Jews). Just because you born in America, will gurantee you American citezenship, I and my latest ten grands born, lived, and died heer in HISTORIC PALESTINE. DO YOU GET IT NOW.

True Israeli ,   Israel   (05.07.06)
Historic Palestine is the only phrase the Palestinians can come up with to protect a non-state that has never existed. It was an Ottoman province considered by most Arabs, including the local ones, nothing more than Southern Syria. It was a backwater the land of which was owned primarily by foreign land owners and a few prominent local Arab families (both groups were happy to sell this land to Jews for exorbitant sums). But here is the kicker. The land was called Palestine because the Romans wanted to erase the memory of Judea, so they renamed it. In other words, your "historic Palestine" is exactly the same as what you'd like to do, an erasure of Jewish history. By the way, I was born in Israel, like most Israelis today. More than 9 out of 10 Palestinians have been born outside of Israel. So not only are all these Palestinians not from "Historic Palestine" but they have virtually no physical connection to it even as they scream that it's the Jews who don't.
13. to 9 - it's really very simple
Shai ,   Israel   (05.07.06)
First off, of the UN documents you mention only one (242) is a security council resolution. All other UN resolutions and statements do not carry the force of law. When you examine UNSCR 242, it does not contain any mention of Jerusalem as a capital of "Palestine". It speaks rather of a reciprocal obligation of the Arab and Israeli sides to cease the war and enter negotiations on final borders. Unfortunately, Arab belligerance and blindness to the plain meaning and significance of legal documents have stymied all attempts to settle the matter of disputed lands amicably. Secondly, the 1949 Armistice Agreement left one side in the conflict, Israel, with boundaries that were legally accepted by the UN. Those boundaries included west Jerusalem. The eastern portion of Jerusalem remains to this day, according to UN Security Council Resolutions, an area whose status is under dispute and is to be negotiated. It does not say anything about this area being "Palestinian". Therefore: 1) There is no capitol for "Historic Palestine", because as yet "Historic Palestine" does not exist as a state, and never has. Therefore, "Al Quds" is not its capitol and never was. In the view of international law, until only very, very recently (since the Oslo Accords), Palestinians never governed themselves as a separate people per se (rather at best they ruled by clan or city), and as such until recently they had no claim to a national identity that warrants a state, as opposed to a confederacy with Jordan, Syria or Egypt. 2) The only country that has even part of Jerusalem as its legal recognized capitol is Israel. If a person is born in West Jerusalem, his birth certificate should say "Jerusalem, Israel", as this is not, contrary to what Canadian courts decided, a matter for dispute. That many countries do not recognize this is a matter of politics, not fact. If Arabs didn't have oil, it'd have been recognized long ago. 3) The Canadian decision would only apply to E. Jerusalem, if they were interested in the diplomatic facts. The facts as they are from a religious perspective are clear, too - though not admissible in a Canadian court. They are a) Mohammed was never in Jerusalem. His followers conquered it in his name. b) Jerusalem was only a capitol for the independent Kingdom of Judea. The Kingdom of Israel, which co-existed next to Judea for some time, had its capital in Shilo from the year 920 BCE, which is north of Jerusalem, also in an area that is today considered "disputed" under International Law (because international law has become very selective today about all the international laws that came before that made this area part of a Jewish Homeland). It is thus not considered "Palestine" until Israel concedes it as such unilaterally, or in negotiations with the Arabs. It doesn't matter how many generations your family was here, Atamawi. 10 generations of Englishmen don't make the Australian outback British, either. Before you flatter yourself further with your national aspirations, it'd do you good to actually look at what the law DOES say, and what it does not, rather than continue in your mythmaking.

out of APlestine, Thanks to your civilized people. Tell you what. Toal Number of palestinian all over the world is not known precisly, what I know is that there is a 3.8 million in West BAnk and Gaza, 1.2 million in Old Palestine-- within occupied terretories since 1948, thats make it 5 million palestinians within the borders of Historic PAlestine, and honestly I do not think that we are only 1/out of 10 as you stated. we will form very much half of the palestinian people. Bad for you ha?

Well, Aboud Haymayel, if you only want the West Bank and Gaza, then you can have it. Take it with my blessing. However, you now have to convince your Hamas government to recognise Israel and its borders so that we can all live happy, peaceful and prosperous lives. And then, I woke up. Good luck, you are going to need it.. I really wish we could live side-by-side, but unfortunately I don't see this happening in my lifetime. Especially with a Hamas-led government and the support of Hizbollah and the nut case in Iran.

Another problem is that you would have to convince the Israeli government to leave West Bank.
21. Jerusalem as Capital
Daniel ,   Washington, DC USA   (05.07.06)
When Israel had Tel Aviv as it's Capital, Jerusalem was supposed to be under UN control. In 1949 Jordan crossed over the UN set borders and attacked the Jewish land as it was just becoming a State. Jordan then OCCUPIED what is now known as The West Bank and East Jerusalem. When this happened Jordan did not claim Jerusalem as it's Capital. In fact at no time in history did any Arab nation claim Jerusalem or Al Quds as it's capital. When Israel was born it had no choice but to declare Tel Aviv it's Capital, but since 1967 Jerusalem has been and should be the Capital of Israel. Who outside of the country has a right to dictate otherwise. I think Israel should consider moving embassies. Canada is not the only country to play the capital game. Israel should have joint embassies in New York, Philadelphia in the USA as tehy were the capital before. And perhaps in Quebec City, since Quebec wants independence.
22. atmawi, Lod is a capital of "historic Palestine"
Yossi   (05.07.06)
Learn some history, ignorant. When Arab captured Palestine they put Lod as it's capital. Later they moved capital to Ramla.
23. Israel dicides for itself
Robert Renders ,   Belgium   (05.07.06)
Israel has decided that Jerusalem is it's capital, just like Belgium decided it's capital is Brussels, and Egypt dicided it's capital is Cairo. The Palestinians have lost all the wars they've started, so if they want Al Quds to be their capital, they should rename one of their villages in Gaza or the Westbank Al Quds.
24. Muhsein: "Palestinian people does not exist."
Chaya ,   Eretz Yisrael   (05.07.06)
Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member, Zahir Muhsein said the following in an interview 1977: "The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism

The Palestinian flag copies the Jordanian one as 78% of the British Palestinian mandate was where the modern state of Jordan exists now, gven by the British to King Abdullah of the Hashemites in 1921.

Mohammed was never in Jerusalem ? He ascended from there to heaven on a winged white horse didn't he ? Isn't this what El Aktsa is all about. Ahh, got you there, you should be more careful when dealing with our Pal brothers and of course the infinite number of Suras in the Koran that start with Jerusalem. Oh, by the way, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and not the capitol. The Capitol is by the Potomac and once upon a time it was by the Tiber.
27. #9 Atmawi "historic Palestine" ????
DR ,   Gwent, UK.   (05.07.06)
Atmawi, the truth never changes. As you have been told on many occasions, "Palestine" itself has NEVER existed as a 'sovereign' nation with it's own people, culture and capital city. Until 1948 it was just a regional land occupied by foreign empires. Despite the repeated use of the term "Palestine" in political and media circles including the House of Commons in London, it is a fact that "Palestine" as a social, political, national, regional, religious or geographic entity of any description does not exist at this time and has not done so since 1948. The use of the term is a distortion and shows an inherent bias against the Jewish state and lies at the basic of Arab propaganda. The name "Palestine" is the 'anglicised' term for "Syria Palaestina", the name given by the Romans when they defeated the kingdoms of Israel & Judah in AD135. A name given to utterly remove any Jewish connection from the territory, when Jerusalem was simultaneously renamed "Aelia Capitolina". From that time even to the rebirth of the Jewish State in 1948 a Jewish presence STILL remained in the Land despite the area being conquered by numerous illegal foreign occupiers, one of which was the Arabs themselves. After the Roman occupation ending in 330AD, the region that eventually became known as "Palestine" was then occupied by numerous empires; Byzantines (330-638AD), Arabs (Fatimids & Abbasids), and Turks (Seljuks) (638-1099AD), Crusaders (1099-1291AD), Mamluks (1291-1516AD), Ottomans (1516-1917AD), British (1917-1948AD). Israel was reborn in 1948 and exists to the present day. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any people or nation other than the Jewish people. May I respectfully suggest that, instead of insulting others and telling them to obtain some history lessons, that you check your own facts my friend. I have studied your history for three decades. As for Muhammad, if you again check your 'facts', you will even discover that there was no Mosque on the Temple Mount during his own lifetime. It only appeared decades afterwards.
