1. Right of Return
RON   (05.13.06)
No straight person could forgive thieves, these guys who have been driven out of their houses MUST go back to their places, if Israel refuses and this is the most likely, then they can easily go back to the place from where they came....
2. Not that anyone might've thought otherwise, but:
Morris ,   NY, USA   (05.13.06)
...there obviously won't be any peace with Hamas.
3. The only right of return these Arabs have is to Arabia!
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (05.13.06)
Neither "Palestine" nor "Palestinians" exist! Israel was re-named Palestine by the Romans and has no Arab connection. The Arab occupiers need to go back to their homeland and leave the Jews alone! http://www.sullivan-county.com/id3/palestine.htm
4. Palestinian propaganda
Josh ,   Jerusalem   (05.13.06)
I think this sums it all up pretty well: "More than a million Palestinians, who live on land captured in 1948." The Palestinians have twisted history to the extent that Israel was the capturer or attacker in the '48 war. This perversion of historical facts, along with the teaching of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and other false, anti-Semitic indoctrinations are the root of the conflict. The Palestinians, through generations of warped propaganda, have penetrated and controlled their society's psyche with baseless hatred and intolerance by changing history. The real occupation is of the minds of the Palestinian youth.
5. The One Great G-D is For JERUSALEM and ZION
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.13.06)
Bible, Zechariah 1:14: 'Thus says the L-RD of hosts, "I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion."
6. In your dreams Haniyeh
Jenny ,   NYC   (05.13.06)
Losers do not make demands, they meet them. Or else they eat sand.
7. Right Of Return?
Leo ,   Canada   (05.13.06)
Right Of "Return" means Ireaels destruction. Palestinians want to destroy Israel in any way they can, they cant do it militarily so they try to destroy in with "right Of Return" FORGET IT!!!!!!!!1 PS, Do Jews Have The "Right right Of Renurn" to Arab countries?
8. man1 Look at that hole.
Yoel Ariel ,   At the seaport   (05.13.06)
Is that 5.56mm holes or 7.62mm holes?? Who is feeling somewhat edited today.
9. making the case for convergence
b katznelson   (05.13.06)
... if a right of return to within the green line is non negotiable to Haniyah then unilateral convergence is inevitable and might even gain international support. Abbas and Bargouti (and even the Hamas prisoners) get this and are creeping slowly to a realistic negotiating stance.
10. No refugee will concess on his right of return
Muhammad-Ali ,   Montreal   (05.13.06)
11. Israel's Direction
Wise Man ,   USA   (05.13.06)
Israel is going in the right direction and here is why 1. Sinia Withdrawl 2. South Lebanon Withdrawl. 3. Gaza withdrawl. 4. Future West Bank withdrawl 5. Future Golan Hights withdrawl 6. Did you hear the mayor of Haifa and the right of return ?
12. Right of Return to Gaza and W. Bank beyond final borders
Russell ,   Miami   (05.13.06)
If he wants a right of return to Israel proper, let him drink from the sea.
13. Time to change your tune Pals
Ron ,   America   (05.13.06)
Its not gonna happen, ever. Easy to take a position that will never be accepted... more insincerity from the Pal negotiators. Fuggedaboudit -that goes for the 40 year old Green Line too. Take what you can get now, end your misery, and get on with your lives... stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings
14. Can someone explain "Right of Return"
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (05.13.06)
Is it someone that left in the 40's? Is it all of their offspring? Is it all Arabs in jail (refugee camps) in other countries? And does it include Arabs that sold their properties?
15. why?
me agian ,   UK   (05.13.06)
the translation show how the israeli media misuses every political statement by any Palestinian figure, the same statement is made by atheist Palestinian politicians which means that they doesn’t holy in the religious sense, they mean very important. Nice try
16. this is right: no peace with no right of return
Kamal ,   Denmark   (05.13.06)
17. most sacred issue to achieve a lasting peace
Noura ,   Chicago Usa   (05.13.06)
18. I will never accept peace if I can not return to Haifa
Mohamed ,   Cairo   (05.13.06)
19. no right
(05.13.06)
no "return" except to Saudi Arabia, where the "Palestinians" came from
20. The ultimate parody: to mimick Judaism
Joy Springreen   (05.13.06)
This is part of long view geo-political game, a cold war as the palestinians hamasine culture learns how to mimick Jewish Suffering from 1000's of years. However, not mass evictions and guerilla warfare, no chance. More of an attempt to commandeer the emotions of the world public at large with a parody of the Jewish story. Which is one of homecoming and dispersal, nationhood and international brotherhood with other countries. That is what Israel is really about but this perpetual line taken by Hamas, Ahmedinejad and Nazrallah is part of a wicked demeanour and slur on on Islam. Look at Chad, Mali, Nigeria, Mauritainaia, Morocco, Senegal and so many other muslim nations around the world and tell me that there isnt another way for Islam to know itself again. Cars driving around muslim capitals saying; "Wahabis and al-qaeda revolutionaries, no longer needed, please may your way to the nearest exit and stay gone" Militarily trained in Syria, al qaeda cells flying about the territories, it looks like the ultimate insult to the EU and USA who have been payrolling the Palestinian dream. I just really think that this could well be part of a wicked and evil anti-semite (that includes true levantine arabs, circassians, copts, druze, maronites, christians, definately Jews and anyone else who aint down with the Terhanian game) plot. The jealously of Shia, Ahmedinejad regime rolls on with its china backed cold war total civilisational war machine. The Hypocrisy But ultimately nothing compares to Hama. Not even anything from the horror of the total and all out Lebanese war can compare to the systematic destruction of Hama. This same regime in Damascus, which has close ties with Tehran and not so supriselingly tow an identical line with Hamas. Both Hamas and Ahmedinejad have been on the canvass to stir up Jew hatred. Naming a single messianic sect "nuterey karta" as a testiment to a difference between Judaism and Zionism, there isnt one. Judaism is Zionism but also a whole lot more fun and culture too. All Judaism is Zionist even this tiny sect, but they are messianic so heaven help anyone when they think "he's" arrived. For a total islamist idea like Ahmedinejad's only one solution will be put in place eventually and that is the destruction of all Jews. There is no way Ahmedinejad can accept Judaism, as it is Zionist by foundation, by principle, by law, by history, by fate, faith and hope. Of which there are at least 12 milion other Jews worldwide who dont see things the same way as the Nuterey Karta. Hamas is always doing the same as Iran. Treading the international boards and stirring up hatred for Jews, whether its political or religious. Its a total media war, being fought by extreme religious muslims leaders to say the same thing over and over and over and over again until eventually some people may actually believe what they are saying. Or failing that get so pissed off listening to all that hateful rhetoric being projected into their daily, hard lives and so being born out of that, they project the violence ommitted to them by expressing it and forming a militant culture around it. Tough life this one, isnt it?
21. #9: katznelson: a brain in a jar
sk ,   USA   (05.13.06)
You'll stick out your chest, look mean, and give the Arabs almost everything they want. That'll be round 2 (Gaza was round 1). Then will come round 3. And every expulsion will make the next one easier. I can just see your brain working hard in its jar, spinning out Orwellian nonsense, masterminding a Great Plan. Alas! All someone needs to do is knock the jar off the shelf, and there goes katznelson! Ultimately, you have little respect for Arabs. Their culture may be primitive, but so was that of the Germanic tribes (particularly the Goths) that sacked Rome. The Arabs believe Israel is their land. All of it. Before '67 they tried to kill Jews when they could. They have become better at it. If you give them hope, they will intensify their efforts. If you kill their entire leadership (i.e. terrorist) stratum, they will become dejected. If you expell some, they will become more dejected. These modern-day Germans will not be placated. Learn it already.
22. Right of return
Moe Chile ,   London   (05.13.06)
When G-d called Abraham out of the land of his father to a land that G-d would show him, who would have thought that after 4000 years people would still be warring over it. Arabs,Palestinians,Jews,Maronites, etc. are all descendants of Abraham, a promise G-d kept when he said I shall make you the father of many nations. Why do not these many nations put aside the hate and realize that you are all sons and daughters of Abraham whom G-d loved. Moe Chile
23. Right of no return
Simon ,   C-Town,South Africa   (05.13.06)
They ran away after they were given false pomises by their arab brethren they have no right to RETURN ! They must be absorbed in the countries where they are living in now. What about all the Jews that were expelled and their property and valuables confiscated from arab countries ? The arabs started the war in 1948 and lost land. Only peaceful negotiations can have land returned. Bullets and bombs are not in the equation. Peace can only be achieved through non violence not through a barrel of a gun. Israel with secure borders is here to stay and we all know that. Hamas wake up and smell the roses ! Change your attitude and your covenant and peace will prevail.
24. the crux of the conflict
john ,   london   (05.13.06)
(1) why no right of return for people who left Jaffa in 1948 and a right for jews who come back after 18 centuries of exile? (2) so the demand of the palestinians is legitimate (3) nevertheless, it is impossible to accept it because it would mean the end of israel as a jewish state (4) so, the international community has to decide : no right of return but financial indemnisation of the palestinians
25. right of return? of whom? to where? what?
honest man ,   usa   (05.13.06)
make yourself free of all whys ? go and read faithfreedom.org
26. Only under the UNHCR definition
(05.13.06)
27. Right of Return of Refugees to Palestine
Jo ,   London   (05.13.06)
They want to establish their own Palestinian State But then they want the refugees to return not to Palestine but Israel! What a breathtaking and twisted logic!
28. A short response to John from London
Kate ,   London   (05.13.06)
"why no right of return for people who left Jaffa in 1948 and a right for jews who come back after 18 centuries of exile?" Because Israel as an independent nation state has an absolute right to decide on who lives there, just like every other independent nation state. "the international community has to decide : no right of return but financial indemnisation of the palestinians " What about compensation for the 750,000 Jews who were ethnically cleansed and whose property was stolen by Arab nations? What about proper compensation for the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis with the active and willing collaboration of much of Europe (including the UK which fought a war in spite of and not because of the Jews)? What about returning some of the immense amount of Jewish property which still in the hands of the gentile thieves? In that sense the president of Iran is right: Europe has never lived up to her responsibilities for her terrible crimes against the Jewish people. There were over 100 million refugees following World War II (including millions of Germans brutally cleansed by Poland). Why is your only concern for the "Palestinians"? No need to answer that last question; we are well aware of the real answer.
29. A response to sk of the US
Kate ,   London   (05.13.06)
"I can just see your brain working hard in its jar, spinning out Orwellian nonsense, masterminding a Great Plan. Alas! All someone needs to do is knock the jar off the shelf, and there goes katznelson! " You gravely underestimate Jewish fortitude in so far as the survival of the Jewish state is concerned. Do you think we don't realise that our lives wouldn't be worth five cents if Israel were destroyed? Do you think we haven't worked out the real extent of evil and anti-Semitism inherent in both the Christian and Muslim worlds? Besides, Israel is booming, the Intifada is dead, the "Palestinian" economy is bankrupt and the "Palestinian" leadership has been boycotted by much of the world. So much for your fantasy about the destruction of Israel.
30. A response to Kamal, Noura and Mohamed
Kate ,   London   (05.13.06)
Your refusal to recognise the Jewish state gives the lie to your oft-repeated claims that you desire peace. And it is because of your intransigence that there never will be a Palestinian state. As Golda once said: "The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
