I think that he should be dismissed. A soldier follows orders and that's it!. I was in the army and saw that it is simply a waist of time, but neverthless you do have to listen to your superiors, no matter how disgusting they are.

lillian, considering that this was published in the "culture section," of the website - if this is the very best that Israel has to offer in terms of "bright young men" and culture in general, than its a sad indictment against the country and this newspaper. You know this article is a little rough but does have a number of good points in it. Firstly it is about honour. How can he, representing his unit, disgrace them like that? What gives him the right to drag their names through the mud? If he was against it yadayadayada, then why did he just not refuse the award?
