1. What have we been in now, in funland?
(06.08.06)
We are and always have been in a war!!
2. Increase has many roots
Arie   (06.08.06)
Not the least of which is the appeasement polic of the Olmert-Peretz-Peres team!
3. justification
Nabulsi   (06.08.06)
the Israelis seem to be pre-justifying something they are about to commit with some rubbish stories...let me guess what are about to do...more palestinian killing and more Palestinian landing stealing...
4. Aaron Klein suffers from hysteria
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (06.08.06)
Withdraw to the Green line, tear down the Apartheid wall, allow the refugees to return, and there will be no further justification for Palestinian resistance.
5. Time for Israel to kick some major ass
???   (06.08.06)
if the palestinians want to play...i say let's play!
6. This is obvious except to idiots
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (06.08.06)
It is patently blatantly staggeringly obvious - except to those idiots who keep pretending that the dear Palestinians deep in their hearts really want peace despite every indication to the contrary - that the more concessions Israel makes the worse the terror war will become.
7. #1 - Looks like a funland to me.
Khalid   (06.08.06)
compared to the situation in the Palestinian territories, you've certainly been in a sort of funland. That's what they mean when they say a newer, tougher mission is ahead.
8. 3rd Intifada
Allan ,   Florida   (06.08.06)
Time to finish what THEY started once and for all!
9. It is utterly stupid to wait
Albert   (06.08.06)
It is utterly stupid to wait - attack and attack now, the Islamo-fascist terrorists must be distroied. If we listen to advise given by Nabulsi we would be dead by now.
10. What a bunch of dumbells
BUSH ,   NYC   (06.08.06)
Yes I am from usa and I am speaking on behalf of many countries. That of usa, Canada, France, Jordan, Egypt. It is my country as much as its yours. you israelis who knew who you were voting for in the elections. Convince me by voting for sharon or olmert that Israel and the world are in better hands. convince me Sharon didn't start an intifada. Convince me he didn't make the stupidest mistake of all time by generously donating land to Palestinians. Convince me hamas isn't in power because of him. and that olmert isn't ten times worse. You all call yourselves smart and sophisticated. Who gives the so called govt of Israel the right to throw away any strip of land to anyone. Why is it more the govt than the many civilians living in Israel. Sorry Israel you are all going the wrong way. All you guys care about is living free to do whatever you want with no limits. Grow up Israel This aint the movies.
11. NAQBA NOW!
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (06.08.06)
If this is the IDF's professional assessment, then why wait until more Israelis are murdered? Officially declare the Oslo Accords null and void and go on the offensive- hard. Return to the status quo ante where the terrorists controlled nothing here, and send them back to Tunis- where they belong.
12. To Ellen #4
Josh ,   Jerusalem   (06.08.06)
How about all the Muslim countries who persecuted and exiled their Jewish populations in the 50's and 60's giving back the property they stole from the Jews? Wait, I have a better idea. Why don't we erase the State of Israel from the map? That way there will be no more problem and it will only add one more country the Jews were kicked out of. Quit the anti-Semitic double-standard rhetoric.
13. #10
Allan ,   Florida   (06.08.06)
What's your point. You've got me completely baffled.
14. PLEASE DON'T RESPOND TO ELLEN
Russell ,   Miami   (06.08.06)
She is not capable of reasonable discussion. If we ignore her, she will go away.
15. Ellen can relax outside of Israel
Steve ,   USA   (06.08.06)
B"H Why get hysterical if some else's back yard blows up. It is just not Ellen's problem. She wants the wall down, the "refugees" to return, and there to be no justification for "resistance". Let the Jews return after thousands of years and do not require them to obtain Israeli citizenship. Let them live east of the fence as an option for those who are not citizens of Israel. Do not restrict imigration only to Arabs, but truly allow all Jews to return regardless of nationality east of the fence. Redeploy the army to whereever convenient, but do not oppress the Jews with the police or make charges outside of territory Israel is willing to keep its citizens safe in. Let the Jewish refugees return by setting up non-resident cards for them to live several years east of the fence, and I have to say that there is going to be no justification for the resistance. We'll take care of the situation. Perhaps Ellen might be one of those Jews at that time that makes things right with her immediate neighbors.

Arie90435   (06.08.06)
Had you, in your infinite wisdom, and those like you come to the country, serve in its army and vote in its elections, then yes, you can criticize. While I loathe the fact that Olmert et al got in, there is a process in place - unless we go back to the monarchy (which was also not wildly sucessful) make Israel "your country" by moving here.
17. the next round
Jonathan ,   Jerusalem   (06.08.06)
Bring it on, Khalid. We are sure and ready to roll. And I wish you enjoyment of every minute of it.
18. to #12, 14
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (06.08.06)
12; Nice try, but accusing me of being anti-Semitic because I, like the rest of the entire world, demand that Israel immediately withdraw from the lands that it illegally occupies, is quite ineffective and it dilutes the once powerful meaning of the term. #14; Does not agreeing on every single issue mean that I am 'incapable of reasonable discussion'?
19. Ellen's Suggestion
Antidhimmi ,   USA   (06.08.06)
What's the problem? Ellen is right. Withdraw to the Green Line, allow Arabs to return and the're will be no further justification for resistance. Since Israel will also no longer exist the only things the Arabs will have to fight is each other. And when British Muslims demand a carve out of Britain where Sharia Law instead of British will prevail, just give it to them. There's an old mantra available from Neville Chamberlain: "Peace in our time". Now that worked really well didn't it?
20. WorldNetDaily
Joel ,   NY USA   (06.08.06)
has about as much credibility as DEBKA File or al Jazzeera. Why would senior terrorists discuss operational plans with Aaron Klein?
21. Allan
Bush ,   USA   (06.08.06)
Sorry! My point is we knew from the very beginning when we still had the choice what directions to take. We knew that leaving Gaza wasn't guaranteeing peace but they took the shot. Even after all we saw , Hamas, more terror they voted in olmert Even after he said he's willing to withdraw. Only now the intelligent ones of Israel are saying "states unilateral withdrawal may contribute to escalation" NO DUH
22. #4 Then what was their justification for the 48 War?
(06.08.06)
When they denied any agreenement to ANY JEWISH ISRAELI LAND?
23. #18
tasc   (06.08.06)
Ellen, less words. If you're capable of reasonable discussion, than why don't you answered questions of Josh (#12)? Why do you prefer to shout non-sense slogans and not talk?
24. Arie
abie ,   nyc   (06.08.06)
I love Israel with all my heart but there is too much fighting going on there. Jews and Arabs as well as secular and religious. I like peace. I want my children to grow up in peace.
25. ELLEN WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ZARQARWI
(06.08.06)
please send us your views.
26. #31bush, #23 tasc #12 josh
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (06.08.06)
#31 Hi bush, thanks for explanation, couldnt get it straight from 10# either. You are right, just one note. Only less than 25% voted for Olmert. It's our defective electoral systems' fault ,which allows 31(!) parties to run for knesset, therefore the ruling one not necessarily represents the majority of opinions. We should have 2 or 3 parties at the most. This would cut millions in unnecessary campaigns and as a people we could benefit to learn to negociate and respect more amongst ourselves. #23 #12 to tasc and josh DO NOT join the "Ellen -rustum darryl "game they are cancer at best ignore them
27. Israel braces for new terror war
Aaron ,   United States   (06.08.06)
Everyone I know in the United States thinks the Palestinians are nothing but a bunch of animals, at least the ones who kill. We fully support Israel in whatever actions you must take to protect you and your families. The Palestinians will never learn that violence begets more violence and they will never be able to defeat Israel in an armed conflict and their dream that other Arab states will start a war with Israel to assist their cause is delusional because the United States will never EVER let that happen.
28. One Islamo fascist mourning another one.
Tula   (06.08.06)
One Islamo fascist mourning another one. "In a statement faxed to Reuters after Zarqawi was killed, Hamas said it mourned the Jordanian-born insurgent as a "martyr of the (Muslim Arab) nation... With hearts full of faith, Hamas commends brother-fighter Abu Musab ... Who was martyred at the hands of the savage crusade campaign which targets the Arab homeland, starting in Iraq," the statement said. (Reuters) Mahmoud Zahar (Palestinian foreign minister) said at a news conference in Islamabad, Pakistan, that the “assassination of any of the people who are resisting” will “not end the resistance,” and that the Palestinians are “blessing every effort to eliminate the existence of occupation.”
29. # 19 is Ellen
(06.08.06)
Do you have fun talkbacking w/ urself?
30. To 25
Ellen Prescott ,   Southsea, Hampshire   (06.08.06)
It is entirely legal and justified to attack/resist US and coalition troops in Iraq, as they are illegal occupiers. However, I view Zarqawi's tactics (beheadings, kidnappings, and bombings) with the utmost contempt. My condolences are with his family.
