Ashkelon is Arab land too, Sameer? Well, thank you for underscoring the fact that we can never have peace with you. You have never grown up enough to abandon absolutism and rejectionism. I guess war is the only answer. Pity.

We have nothing to think about, Abdul Ghani. We've been asking for peace for over 100 years. When the Islamic world stops educating for hate, maybe something will penetrate the heads of your Palestinians brothers and they will understand that their enemy has always been themselves. And you have always egged them on to destruction. You think about that.

"Tell me please, Mr. Foreign Minister [Peres] and Mr. Defense Minister [Rabin, who was also Prime Minister], how will you prevent a little van traveling within Arafat's areas from loading up with katyushas and shooting towards the coastal cities? How will you prevent [katyushas from being shot towards] Ashkelon, Netivot, Sderot, Ofakim, and Ashdod?" -- then-opposition Likud Knesset member Moshe Katsav, at the 1993 parliamentary session at which the Oslo Accords were ratified "We know all the scare-stories of the Likud. They promised [when the first Oslo agreement was signed] that there would be katyushas from Gaza. It's been a year already that Gaza is mostly under PA control, and there haven't been any katyushas -- and there won't be any. The Likud is simply scared to death of peace, and for this reason is reacting in a truly childish manner." -- Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, 1995

Whoever conducts the war against Israel and bombs Ashkelon cannot expect Israel in response to ' keep civilian casualties to a minimum, and conduct itself properly. ' Your post is so self-contradictory as to make it nonsensical -- stop Qassans, but don't fight the attackers. The Arab fighters hide among Arab civilians from where they attack Israeli civilians and you spout your nonsense about Israelis having to conducting 'a moral war.' What you're saying in fact is that you expect Israelis to die quietly so that you may put a wreath on their grave, while feeling highly moral and self-righteous. In fact, the conduct of the war you propose is highly immoral.

71. #50 Daniel. no military answer? How do you know?
AK   (07.05.06)
First must try a real military solution than we'll all know. Bombing empty fields and buildings is no military action, but a waste of money.

casual observer ,   london   (07.05.06)
If history shows anything, it is that Israel's security cannot be achieved by military means alone. The Qassams present more of a psychological and emotional threat than a military one. Nonetheless, they clearly have a debilitating effect on the Israeli psyche. The best course of action for Israel is to recognize that the only way of achieving peace of mind for its citizens is through an honourable and equitable peace agreement, where both sides have something to lose if they upset the balance. True peace cannot be imposed; it must be mutual. Israelis must also realise that their faith in US weaponry has not brought peace and security. On the contrary, these weapons have kept them in a seemingly eternal conflict, and have helped turn them into cannon fodder, to serve America's wider plan for establishing an empire in the Middle East.

I invite you here to Ashkelon or Sderot to continue your casual observation. With casual observers like you, who needs enemies?? I want to see you during a qassam missile landing near you saying it is not a military threat!!
